Here there is one great fan of Jean-Michel Jarre, but not me, I prefer Vangelis. The young generation is more tolerant - likes some of JMJ things.

Vangelis for me is forever spoiled by Richard Clayderman, the Gallic doyen of easy-listening wretchedness, whose recording of "Chariots of Fire" my mother used to play over and over again Have you heard Derdian? www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AFsJHAse84www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c3mrEzI-t0In general I find Italian symphonic power metal to be almost as wretched as Richard ;D but these guys seem to turn down the baroque extravagance a little, producing some really listenable metal.

One of the presents for my b'day this year, that I enjoy since receiving it tis Orphaned Land's new album The Never Ending Way Of Warrior. Kinda listened daily ;D ,but took my time to ,,absorb" it ,as tis rather complex (having a whole concept I had to understand)...and now I can fully judge it by my own standards Being a bit not into their music and knowing only a few songs (having a particular soft spot for Ocean Land) ,must say that now I am most ashamed I didn't pay more attention to them. Such wonderful harmonies, so many influences, lots of ethnic instruments and Metal... Beautiful music! My words fail me now a bit (damn tiredness!),but I want to point also that just watched the DVD included in the package..and love these guys! ;D Also the artwork..and.. OK I love everything about it! Great album, great musicians, great art!

H.I.F. Biber - one of my favorite composers. Ever since I've come across his Violin sonatas I've completely fallen in love. All types of classical genres throughout history are simply divine.
There is a great reason why these composers are still so loved today and forever timeless. Their scores are so complex yet so delicate that you can hear them over and over again and find a new emotion each time you listen. You can only listen to a three and a half minute song with 2 different melodies for so long before you get bored. You can never listen to songs with countless melodies, progressions, key changes, and the like "too many" times. ahhhh, I love it!

I've been listening Catamenia- Kaamos Warrior for like..20 times but changed it to Farmakon. Am not into Farmakon's stuff, but I like ,Loosely of Amoebas" because they alternate so many rock and metal elements in it. And like the transition from jazzy passage to a more heavy part, and viceversa. Great!

Today I listened Kiuas, Heljareiga, Tarot, HIM, Metsatöll, Kivimetsan Druidi, Angeli Di Pietra, Fairyland and Korpiklaani, of course. It was something like Easter celebration with music.

In the spirit of last night film, I'm listening some throat singing music: Ganbold. I know nothing of them, except I love their sounds and that a special friend took care of me to listen that. Kant add much to this..

Finally, got to listen Vârstele Pământului, the most recent album of Negură Bunget. Twas expected to find quality there, but it was more of a surprise for me as I had a doze o skepticism concerning a release of them without the old band members (ja, must admit, still mourn their ,leaving" ). So...it looks like their previous two albums ('N Crugu Bradului and Om) prepared somehow this one, as they took the path of folk elements in this one more and mixed with their now trademark riffs in the most wonderful mix I have ever heard. The elements the new members brought, definetely enrich Negură Bunget's creations, as they are talented and multiskilled musicians (oh, and the use of Pan's flute and tulnic is spectacular within the frame of that truly articulated black metal atmosphere!!). It the their most refined and musically mature album, and I am happy they made it this way..and proud to be their conational. (feels like hearing excerpts of ancestor's calling when listening some passages..ja, Dacia Hiperboreeana in concludent for that). I highly recommend it for any listener of true atmospheric black folk metal .

I've been listening to a lot of medieval music artists via the website of Magnatune (an independed label with lots of interesting stuff and download services right off their website. A couple of ensembles I picked: Mediva, Briddes Roune and Cancioner. Very nice stuff.

I'm stuck in a time warp I think, as I've been very much into 80s music once more. I've dug up some long since forgotten tunes from Flesh For Lulu and Love & Rockets. And various others. It reminds me how not very fond I am of what passes for "pop" and "rock" music today. Some artists have gotten lazy over time, or perhaps everythings been done? As far as more metal, I seem to have Kamelot on regular play lately and some newer Testament. At least some things are reliable! ;D
