My 14 year old English setter: He's raised me since I was a pup...or maybe it was the other way around...I'm not sure .

You've got a really cute little cat, Evelina!
And, I also can't imagine my home without pets, though my pets live in the garden. My dog can enter to the house only on New Year's Eve (31 dec) and my only remaining cat has never wanted to enter. Once I brought her in tho wash her, because she was stinky and I think t was a very horrible experience for that little cat.
I used to have three cats, but the two male ones have disappeared two weeks ago. Probably they were caught in a trap or hit by a car or poisoned. Now I miss them very much. It's so strange that there's only one cat circling around my feet and miaowing for food or petting whenever I step out from the house.

Le coq est mort… Today our little rooster died. This might not seem to be such a special thing, but he was quite special himself. About 6 years ago we had five big huge hens, and no rooster anymore. What do you need men for… Our chickens always walk around the house freely and go voluntarily to their hen-house every evening, except for the winter they decided that chickens had to sleep in trees; then we were every night busy collecting those from the tree and put them in the hen-house, because it was freezing cold. But… one spring day a little rooster came walking across the road. He was of the same breed as our chickens, only the small version, I think it is called a bantam in English. Well, this bantam saw all these sturdy chicks walking around, enlarged his eyes and ran to them. He himself only had one really tiny hen, even smaller than his small self and our hens were at least twice as big, which man (rooster) could resist that So, he joined our chickens. A few days later our neighbor came, it was his rooster and he wanted him back. So we caught the guy and he took him with him and locked him up. The next morning he was back… our neighbor came again and locked the rooster up, but before he clipped his wing, so that he could not fly anymore. Two days later the rooster returned. Our neighbor built a strong hen-house and locked the rooster in… the next morning he was back. Our neighbor came and told us that we could keep the damn rooster… we named him Houdini. Houdini was a fine creature, he took so well care for his hens that he hardly got food enough for himself. When he found something eatable, he called the hens to eat it. He was not shy and certainly not aggressive. Because he was so small, his offspring also became smaller and smaller. Chickens do not care so much about incest In the end he had a ‘herd’ of 10 chicks and one small rooster; his last son. A few years ago he had been attacked by a former son of him and almost died then. Yesterday morning we saw the same as a few years ago… Houdini was lying on the ground and his head was a bloody mess, he seemed to have lost one eye also. Damn. We picked him up, cleaned his wounds carefully and put him in a animal transportation basket. At first he was just lying there and breathing heavily, because blood was cluttering in his throat. Later on he was standing and breathed easier. This night he must have laid down again, this morning he was lying and he did not stand up again. I think he was unconscious. This afternoon he died. His son, who probably killed him is his successor (no peepers from him, too much inbreed)… what was the name of all those Romans/Greeks who killed their father again?... he still has no name… Houdini

I was sad to read about the rooster. He seemed to be a very nice rooster. I have two cats; Orco and Domingo. Orco is my baby... I found him under a tree when he was around six weeks old: He's about six years old now. Domingo is my crazy cat. We found him at the animal shelter when he was around nine weeks old: He's a year and a half old now. I was trying to find another cat like Orco, but I was sadly mistaken! They're complete opposites. Orco is really sweet and sleeps most of the time, while Domingo runs around like a nut, gets into everything, and causes all sorts of trouble. He can be annoying, but I laugh almost every single day because of him.

oedipus....... well... seems like we will get two cats after my rabbit died it was sure for my man that i need a new pet knowibg a rabbit would be the most nicest pet we decided to take rather a cat, because cats dislike eating cables, you don't have to take THAT much care for them and well we would compare a new rabbit always with ronaldo (my old) who was so god damn special thát no one ever called him a real rabbit but more a human (except biting cables -.-') so few days ago our flatmates/friend's mom called us having two little cats.... brothers we could take

Poor rooster :c This is Loki. She died a few weeks ago. I came home and found her, too, with a bloody and bulging eye. She had cut it on something. We took her to the vet but not much could be done for her. She later became blind in both eyes, and by the morning she was dead, just from the sheer pain and terror. Despite that horrible death, she had a good run for a budgie. She lived for about 7 years, and she was allowed to fly anywhere around the house, instead of having her wings clipped and being kept in a small cage. She came to the table and ate off our plates at dinner time, and even tried to talk to us by imitating the sounds we made. Truly a member of the family. :}

Here's my dog, Max playing with his fave toy, a red ball. Now he's tnine years old, but he still acts like a puppy sometimes: And the newest member of my pet family: Well, it is the offspring of my cat, i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/moondancer_hu/telefon28801001001.jpg who disappeared this summer. (He was probably killed or hit by a car, though I've never found his body) The kitten was born about three weeks after his dad left us, on 20 Aug (btw. it's a national holiday here in Hungary), so now it is about a month old. And I should find a proper name for her.

MoonDancer: what a terrible cute kitty... young kittens are the most attractive young animals there are, i think. Our goat with my son's sock on!One of our goats (named Ziezo, this cannot really be translated, in English it might be something like: okay, done!) was limping badly with one forefoot. Unfortunately she is the most shy of all our goats, which is odd, because she was born here like the others and they were all treated equally. But… we decided to catch her. So my daughter and I walked in the pastry and tried to get her, but even when limping, she was quite fast and ran away from us all the time. We tried to get her in a corner, but all the time one of the other goats chased her out, or one of the horses chased in, making her running away while we were obstructed by a horse. At last when we were all muddy and after breath, we got her. I washed her foot and saw that it did not look like it should. Not really bad, but well, a little damaged on the sole. So I made a washing soda solution. Have you ever tried to keep a goat standing quietly for about 10 minutes with one foot in a bucket? After a while it was done and I put a gauze dressing on her foot and put over it an old sock of my son, which I taped shut. This we do twice a day and hope it will help. (Costs a lot of socks, I have to cut them loose all the time!) The brown spots near her ear is iodine, she had also damaged her ear quite badly, and after cleaning we put the iodine on it, then she shaked her head violently… result we all got red stains everywhere ;D

^Goats are amazingly cool and this one is particularly beautiful. My friend has also one, called Omena/Omppu ("apple"), but she's a bit nasty sometimes (well, most of the time ). Today we had to put our oldest rat down; he was almost 2,5 years old which is quite a good number for a rat. He looked terrible because he had gotten a tumour both in his face and his belly. And still he was walking around like nothing, even with the huuge tumor (something like twice his head, the one on his belly). And Roope's quite big already; he starts to look like a man .
