Well, I supposse this is a widely spread thread on many forums; I was not sure if open a new thread or continue the old "last movie you've seen"... moderators please, remove this one if you think it's better to keep the old one. Have you seen the new Star Wars movie? What's your opinion about it? I left the cinema with a divided opinion; on the one hand the movie is much well done and so on, on the other hand I don't feel the any of the third new ones reach the level of the old trilogy. I don't think George Lucas ever thought about these three "first" chapters at all (even I don't think he thought on the 5 and 6 when he wrote the so called chapter 4). I don't find clearly the links among this trilogy and the first one. And when Darth Vader appears for the first time... well, it's like a serie Z movie!!!!! So I think George Lucas has betrayed the legend he created so long ago. Anyway, when I saw the credits I felt like "oh, it's all gone, no more Star Wars anymore ". So, as a movie, it's good, as part of the legend, surely the best of the three new ones films, but still not good enough to take the name of that old myth Star Wars was.

i saw it. i thought it was a lot better compared to the last 2. although, i dont think the definition of the personalities of the characters are coherent, especially with anakin.

There was a great lack of emotion imo... I think everyone should go back for animation instead of computer textures. It looks always so cheesy when they make stuff with computer...

Anyway, when I saw the credits I felt like "oh, it's all gone, no more Star Wars anymore ". There is more shit coming, and rumours are spreading that he will create even one more movie, which deals with Yoda. Even Star Wars is Luca's own creation, I think he shouldn't "rape" that wonderful and once mystic trilogy with crappy stuff like these past 3 movies...

Just got home from seeing the last installment. First let me say I was brought up on the original three episodes (Episodes 4, 5 and 6) but the recent ones (Episode 1 and 2) haven't captured my imagination. For me, this final Episode was a bit of a disappointment. It was so busy drawing all the threads together, and tying up the loose ends, that it forgot about the necessity of a storyline and reverted to "this happened, then this happened, then this happened". I found the dialogue extremely stilted, and the use of dialogue to explain what was happening (for example the opening scene between Obi Wan and Anakin) childish and lazy. Any screenwriter knows there are better ways to communicate with your audience than having a character verbalise their intentions and actions: "I'm going to do this now, for this reason". Visually there was too much computer graphics for me. If it wasn't a human actor, it felt computer generated to me. Every buidling, spaceship, sunset, Wookie - they all looked fake to me. The one redeeming feature was the last few scenes that really tied the edisode into the original Episode 4. They were done brilliantly, and really brought back some of the Star Wars magic. But overall,

I think it was much better than the previous but fell short of the older three, quite short.
The excessive use of CGI takes away most of the feeling of the older movies. Furthermore, Hayden Christiansen is the worst fucking actor alive, I mean, he has the talent of a construction brick. He even makes Natalie Portman look bad. They connect like a gas heater in the middle of the sahara... so devoid of emotion.
Still, it was an improvement on the episodes I and II, specially because it came full circle pretty well with the "first" three, scriptwise.

Furthermore, Hayden Christiansen is the worst fucking actor alive, I mean, he has the talent of a construction brick. Gotta agree with this, I thought in Episode 2 that he was basically just acting like a petulant teenager, and frankly it didn't get any better in Ep3. The scene where he finally goes over to the dark side made me think of nothing so much as a dieter being offered their favourite ice-cream... "no no no, no, no I shouldn't..... oh go on then". Character development? Please.

I like the movie! As Star Wars fan i think that is very good! Of course that we never can compare the old ones! But the III is great! I feel Vader's pain when he were screaming and burn without his legs and one arm! And now the joke! For one Safe galaxy!!!! ;D
