I`d like to knowwho , besides Jonne( who is by far the best), is your favourite metal singer ? For me the ranking is : 1) Barney Greenway ( Napalm Death ) - Forgiving us the most brutal voice ever. 2) Max Cavalera ( Soulfly ) - for screaming himself unconscious. 3) David Draiman ( Disturbed ) - for his insane voice and animal screams. 4) Casey Caos ( Amen ) - for sounding like beeing shortly before running amok . 5) Ben Goreskin( Gorerotted) - for singing " Ibidibi ididi , ibidibi ududu " as good as no one else . 6) Kurt Cobain( Nirvana) - for his decision to at least end the torture he brought us with his voice . 7) Lemmy( Motorhead) - for having time to sing inbetween his Whiskey bottles. *Edited the titel...as requested . Meal singer? When I'm eating I cannot listen that good... ;D Lemmy from Motorhead surely kicks ass Timo Nikki from Peer Günt Also Ismo Alanko and voices like his', like Samuli Mäkisalo of Pohjannaula Marco Hietala from Nightwish Jarkko Ahola and Järvinen from Teräsbetoni, I'm not very fond of clean vocals, but those two have amazing voices, same counts for Ilja Jalkanen from Kiuas. There must be numerous others I like, but these come first in my mind. Besides Korpiklaani, hey/! I also like the singer of Shaman (Fin) can't remember his name ;D I restricted my list to metal singers.I forgot: Kuuraparta's voice is indeed also a favourite for me (though I doubt if his music fits in the metal genre )

Albert Kuvezin (Yat-Kha) - One of the most powerfull throat-vocals ever; a combination between kargyraa and khoomei - throat-singing is awesome Wimme Saari - Wimme is a superb yoik-artist, who can create many kinds of atmospheres with his voice A.W.Yrjänä (CMX) - His voice may not be so gallant, but mysterious it definitely is.. Rölli - Rölli is the best singing troll ever..

A.A. Nemtheanga (Primordial): one of the most carismatic frontman of all time I ABSOLUTELY agree to that! Alan is a gift! Someone else`s voice I totally love is A. Hedlund (also known as Vintersorg ) from Vintersorg, Ex-Borknagar, Fission, Otyg, Havayoth etc. He has the most wonderful deep-pitched voice I ever heared in my life. Edit: I also like the voice of Markus Norman in Ancient Wisdom and Bewitched.

Damn, how could I forgot Vintersorg... his voice is fantastic but I still think that Simen's voice is much better for Borknagar... I'm currently listening to one of the Ayreon albums called The Human Equation...it has just great singers...featuring Michael Akerfeldt as "Fear", Devong Graves as "Agony" and the mad genius Devin Townsend as "Rage".... - Mikael Stanne; Dark Tranquillity I forgot him too...my best concert experience was Dark Tranquillity even if they're not one of my favorite bands and since then I'm a great fan of Mikael's voice... Does anyone knows who "chants' on Burzum's Havamal...?

Does anyone knows who "chants' on Burzum's Havamal...? As it says in the backside of the BURZUM: Ragnarok (A New Beginning) -bootlegCD: VIII: The head of the Asatru religion Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson (died in 1993) sings Havamal (words of Odin) accompanied by the music of BURZUM's 'Han Som Reiste' (from 'Det Som Engang Var' album). This version is previously unreleased.I've also heard this same chant in it's original and complete form a couple of years ago at the university as we listened it in the advanced course in Islandic at that time when I yet studied the Nordic languages before my later change to the Finno-Ugric linguistics as my main studies of nowadays.

For me it is far and away Adam Agius of Australian metal band Alchemist (just realised there's a few too many words starting with 'A' in that sentence!). For the range that he has, for his skill, for his live abilities, he floors me every time. I've been a fan of this band for eight years and I got to meet them all last Friday, have dinner, work on their merchandising stall, talk to Adam about his lyrical direction for the next album - what a dream! ;D

6) Kurt Cobain( Nirvana) - for his decision to at least end the torture he brought us with his voice . I know that Kurt Cobain isn`t loved very much by metalheads and if you like him is a metter of your personal taste. But to write things like this is really respectless and I think nobody should say something like this about another person independent from sympathy or antpathy. And I think the death of a young person is too serious to make jokes about it. To answer the question: Mikael Stanne, also his clear vocals (Dark Tranquillity) Morten Veland (ex-Tristania,Sirenia) Kristian Gundersen+ Jan Kenneth Barkved( clear vocals on Sirenia`s "At sixes and sevens"-CD Fabienne Gondamin(female vocals Sirenia) Vintersorg Gruinh(singer of a german pagan/viking-band called "Rimmersgard") Lordi-(for combining raw vocals with melody) Kevin Russell-(Böhse Onkelz-the same reason as Lordi) And of course Kurt Cobain!

If you want to discuss this with anybody, please, do it by PM. Shaman, please, it's not me who must tell you anything, but nobody has felt angry for this joke except you. Death of a person is terrible, ok, but still is part of this life, just as everything concerning mankind is part of life; this way you could never make a joke about anything; imagine you tease one of your friends and he/she reacts like this... just an innocent joke and somebody gives more importance than it deserves, it would be crazy. You've got to learn to measure what has importance, what's done with bad intention and what not. What would you think if somebody makes a joke about Spanish and I judge this joke is rude to me since there are 40 millions of Spanish of many different conditions? Everyday hundreds of Spanish are born and die, a general joke about Spanish could be taken as irrespectful to those people, don't you think?
*Forgive moderators team for the offtopic* tomorrow I'll try to write an answer to the topic. Feel free, please, to erase this off-topic if you feel it must be removed.

I will list my favourite singers, not really minding if they're metal singers or whatever; note that they're my favourites, not the ones I think are the best. I'm sure I'll forget a lot of people...
Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden... the best metal singer ever for me; 47 years and he sings like a siren
Steven Tyler from Aerosmith... the demon of screaming.
Aaron from My Dying Bride... nobody makes you feel the lyrics the way he does... just hear "the Deepest of All Hearts"
Dani Filth from Cradle Of Filth... precisely for what other people hates him, his voice.
Pete Steele from Type O Negative... deep voice
Micha from In Extremo... because of the rawness of his voice
Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. another screaming devil
Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull... though he has completely lost his voice, but hear Hymn 43 and then Wond'ring Aloud and check the different tone he could use
Ted Neely from Original version of Jesus Christ Superstar... just hear Ghetsemani on the verison of 1973 and you'll understand why I admire him
Carl Anderson from Original verison of Jesus Christ Superstar... an amazing black male voice
Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy... amazing singer
Felix from Crematory... the best gutural voice I've ever heard
Joaquin Sabina... because his voice is absolutely destryoed, but he keeps on singing
Keith Richards from The Rolling Stones... because you can feel when he sings the alcohol he's drunk, as in Loosing My Touch
Joe Perry from Aerosmith... the best suited with lead singer chorus ever. Also a great rocker voice on his own, hear "Stop Messin' Around"
Jose Carlos Molina from Ñu... for me the best Spanish singer ever, not for the range of his voice, but for the interpretation of his lyrics
Adolfo Cabrales from Platero Y Tu and Fito Y Los Fitipaldis... because I'd like to sing like him
Adriana Varela... I don't like tango, but this woman singind at your ear must be one of the most exciting things in life! Another alcoholic voice, moreover
Ismael Serrano... even though he's now married and does not talk of lost love anymore... I've never heard anybody sing the words "I need you" with more feelling
Sebastian Bach from Skid Row... amazing screaming, how couñd anybody have those lungs??? Just hear the last I Remember You in the song "I Remember You"
Axl Rose from Guns & Roses... sometimes
Eric Dover from Slash's Snakepit... for singing "Beggars And Hangers On"
Rod Jackson from Slash's Snakepit... because he was perfect for the sound of that band
Morten Veland from Tristania and Sirenia... his voice is scary!!!!
Lemmy... because he's still alive and...well?
Dave Mustaine from Megadeth... because of the coarse sound of his voice
Many more would come, but I can't remember now
