Why do you like them. What makes them special to you? In here we also use to explain, why something is the special one. Only listing names after another is not a conversation.

Spanish Bands: - Saurom: The best spanish band of the moment, I think, and they're very good people... - Saratoga: Pure Heavy Metal, very good - Anvil Of Doom: A very good band of Melodic Death Metal... if they were finnish, they "would be very good and known"... - DarkSun: Epic Metal in spanish!! (and english!). Their first album, 'El Legado' ('The Legacy') is a masterpiece. Foreigner Bands: -Iron Maiden: Simply the bests... -Blind Guardian: No comments needed -Korpiklaani: I love their combination of Folk and Metal, and that it's very speedy!! Yeah! -Children Of Bodom: The best underground group, I think... (if you like CoB, you must hear Anvil Of Doom)

At the moment my favourite band is Helfahrt from Germany. I yesterday got their promo for the new album after their gig... and it´s knocking me off of my feet. Runs here all day. And live they get better from day to day (for those who don`t know, they are a little bit like Thyrfing musically... just with more brute force). And their gig yesterday was their best ever. So much passion on stage... fantastic! And as my camera was on strike, I could put it away and really headbang (also during Equilibrium, who played after them).
But of course there`s also always those "alltime" favourite bands as well, that never change (like for me: Bathory, Vintersorg, etc.)

i won´t list all my favourite bands because several have already been posted and nobody wants to read a boring long list ^^
so i just want to say that at the moment i like Opeth very very much. their music is so emotional. and there are so many changes and diversions in their songs. on the one handy, they play metal with growling, and on the other hand acoustic passages with clean vocals. it´s this mixture that i like so much. i also like that their songs are quite long, ten minutes or so. any other Opeth lovers here?

I recently heard Lumsk for the first time and will have to add that to my list!!! Love at first listen... which is quite rare... how do you categorize their music, anyway? It is so gorgeous, and unique... these are very talented musicians...
I haven't heard Opeth yet but I've heard good things about it, it's on my list of music to try. In general I love music that takes many twists and turns, so, sounds promising.

It is so gorgeous, and unique... these are very talented musicians... I'd categorize Lumsk as modern Nordic metal with folkloric and "heathen" themes and touch; someone would probably put it simply as "pagan/heathen metal", but IMO that (kind of) genre is a bit too narrow for a situation that actually needs something more around it when describing this band. I liked Lumsk back in the past, but not been into this kind of music for a long time anymore. However, here are my reviews for their albums in Imperiumi.net (in Finnish only though ): > Åsmund Frægdegjevar> Troll

I recently heard Lumsk for the first time and will have to add that to my list!!! Love at first listen... Are all their records very slow? Because I saw them at a festival 2 weeks ago (for the first time, I don`t have any of their records). And I wondered why they only played slow songs except of one. For a festival it would have been better to play faster songs where people can dance to. That´s why I wonder if they have not many fast songs?

Lumsk released two albums. The first one is great I think, it's Åsmund Fraegdegjevar. It is not slow, at least most of the songs are not. The one who wrote the songs for that album, and some of the band members quitted, and the second album Troll is in a way more beautiful, more charming, but I think it is not powerfull. I like their first album best. In fact I like that one a lot. Soon they will release their third album. I am a little afraid it will be more like their second. Good, but not much power.

At the moment I have been listening to Pantera a bit more that what I usualy do. So just to clarify my favourite bands. They are at the top of the list: Metallica. They have played a vital part of me growing up and influencing me playing guitar and who I am. They have always been my favourite band as they were the first REAL metal band I got into, unlike bands like slipknot and the such. The second of the list is of course Korpiklaani. They have opened alot of horizons to me since listening to them. Not only are they a greta band with amazing songs but having listening to them, I have started to enjoy my forests surrounding me and enjoying the natural beauty of them. Also the reason why they are my favourite band is because the songs are always upbeat and just wants to make you jump u p and down . Another reason is because they mix folk insturuments and metal insturuments perfectly and makes the style not to be sniffed at. So the saying goes.

Very Complex Stuff : Meshuggah, Watch My Dying, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon. *yuck, Meshuggah* especially the song 'I' 21:00 of "noise"... I think this indicates that meshuggah isn't really my taste ;D I'm been meaning to get that album, the guy who runs the record company who made that album is Jason 'Jmann' Popson (ex Mushroomhead singer)
