@shmotz43: Have you read the rules of the forum? When listing something, you should give us also the reason why you like those bands. Listing just names is not a conversation. When you have such a great amouont of names, you can give us at least few words why you like those bands. And this same goes for other listing topics too.
You should also minimize your banner from your signature, since it's too big. It takes too much time to be loaded in slow connections.

Everything I listen is "favourite". But the most favourite: flok/viking metal: Korpiklaani - they make me smile and feel cheerful Finntroll (o-la-la); Falkenbach - impressing, one man making this other metal: Nightwish - wish they find a singer Amorphis - I like the combination of the male vocals Metallica - no need of comments Apocalyptica - cello+metal!!! The Rasmus - the voice of Lauri Ylonen is very pleasant Kamelot - very good music reminding to early Queensryche Rhapsody, Epica - the combination with classic music Scorpions - I like the ballads H.I.M., Warmen, Altaria, Evanescence, Tristania, Bon Jovi............ not metal: Juanes - again because of the voice Yes, Vangelis, Jean-Michele Jare - cosmic sound Andrew Lloyd Veber - also no need of comments

Nightwish - wish they find a singer Oh I loooooooove Nightwish! I'm glad I saw them on the last tour before Tarja left. I don't think any new Nightwish songs will be the same for me. I loved the "unrequited love" themes that so much of their music had. Without this tension between Tuomas and his muse, I don't think those themes will be so heart-rending ever again. Shame, but at least we have their earlier stuff!

I like Marco as a singer, but without a lady it is not so interesting. From the earlier stuff I like mast "Oceanborn" and from the last - the concert "End Of An Era"

Oceanborn is a really great album......it was the first i have ever listen to from Nightwish. And also Once is a good album..... I hope that they will find a new singer that have a similar or such a voice like Tarja.....it would be sad if they change their music-style only cause the singer left the band......

Oceanborn, Angels Fall First and Wishmaster are great. Even Century Child is pretty good. I listen to Once the least, it's in a whole different category for me. It's strange because it was the first NW album I heard, but the one I like the least.
And wolferin I agree, Marco has a decent voice but not as the lead vocalist for NW.

Once is not a bad album, especially this ballad "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan", "Nemo" and "Wish I Had An Angel". I like very much the new version of the :Sleeping Sun" clip - Cool!

victoriousmarch: There reads in the rules: 10. With listing topics, tell us also why do you like that "XXX is the best". Of course you don't have to write a whole novel about it, but just give as at least your opinion in few words. That shouldn't be too much asked from anyone, since listing names after one another is not a discussion. Of course you don't have to tell this separately by band by band, but would you please try to give us altogether at least a few more words concerning why do you like those bands you've listed?

Cécile :
Summoning Summoning is an excellent metal band. The music is splendid, very loud and dark. It's full of emotions, Some songs makes me give gooseflesh. The guitar and keyboard parts are excellent. I also like the little details (screams, whispers...). Fantastic !!!
Korpiklaani The songs that make you feel like dancing and singing. The music is really lively and festive. In the beginning I didn't like Korpiklaani... but I started to listen two or tree songs, and now I really like it !
Ensiferum, Falkenbach I like the warrior aspect of the music.
Siddharta The songs are very varied and original. It's excellent !
Romain :
Therion What I particularly like in Therion is the quality of their compositions. The song are great and rich. Every time I listen to an album Therion, I enjoy it as if I discovered it.
Immortal Immortal has a direct style and they've always be true to their music. Their music is powerfull and the guys are simply great !
Amon Amarth Viking metal in a pure style with great compositions.
In general I like bands that evoke something to me, what makes me listen to very different styles (A perfect Circle, Manes to Canibal Corpse)! But I may have a little preference for folk metal.

Oceanborn was the first Nightwish album I heard, and ever since then Nightwish has been one of my favorite bands, and remains so. Between them and Therion, these were the two bands that restored my faith in metal (and music in general), this was well before I discovered folk metal and all the other stunning European metal I had been missing all those years! And to think that after Metallica took a nosedive, and Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden (before he came back), I thought there was nothing left of metal other than (to me) uninteresting death metal... well, at least I know better now But, I digress. Personally I love Marco's voice. I recently got my first taste of his first band Tarot by getting their latest album 'Crows Fly Back', after Kuuraparta informed me of their existence several months back, cause I hadn't heard of Tarot before (thanks!!! And, I am enjoying his voice in Tarot very much as well! But you're right, Nightwish is a different kind of band, and really needs those operatic female vocals... I really hope they will get another classically trained singer, and not someone with 'just a pretty voice'... To my dismay I recently noticed on Tristania's webpage that Vibeke Stene has left their band as well! That is sad too... here is another band that relies very heavily on their female lead to maintain the beauty of their sound...

Rhapsody is one of my favorite bands for years. I like their lyrics and their positive message about victory of good and to care about nature and music is fantastic, because it's mix of 2 best kind of music and that is off course classical music and metal, and Rhapsody is playing that 2 great kind of music mixed perfectly together in one perfect combination, film-score or soundtrack metal we could also say, it is very epic, like you watching some great movie like Lord of the Rings and stuff like that I'm interested and it almoust makes me tears in my eyes because it's full of emotions and great story. Also they are nice guys and good musicians, I like their double bass drumming and combination of Staropoli and Turilli keyboard-guitar solos, also there are great choirs and intros like Ira Divina, Lux Triumphand or Dar-Kunor (I. Echoes from the Elvish Woods II. Fear of the Dungeons)...
Other bands like Haggard, Epica, Nightwish i like also because of great music, female vocals, choirs..
Ensiferum has nice melodies and music that I could listen often but I don't like new vocals, Korpiklaani also great music because I like folk and humppa and folk instruments mixed with metal and lyrics about nature etc. Also I like folk, viking and some black metal bands image, their clothes; viking stuff, new rock boots and things like that.
System of a Down I like also because both; good music and good lyrics. I like heavier music which gives you power and makes you dance or headbang or gives you courage with also emotional lines..
and some older rock bands like Scorpions.. because of drums and guitars and great powerful vocals oh yeaaaaaaaah! ;D
