Favourite Authors:
Tolkien (of course)
Bernard Cornwell (a must read if you're into historical novels)
Lovecraft
Poe
Fernando Pessoa (pt)
Eça de Queirós (pt)
....and a few more. It's hard, I read 2 to 4 books per month (depending on length), so it's really hard to keep track of my favourite ones... I just love reading... that's about it...

Andrej KOURKOV? Helran, I've never heard of him. It's strange But I liked more pamphlet "Modest offer" or smth like this. I don't know how it is in English. It is where he offers to eat little children to avoid the hunger in Ireland ;D Yeah!!! this one was grrreat! I think it was called "a modest proposal", but I'm not sure. I had to study this one three years ago, and I found it great; I remember the proffessor told us that some people called Swift anti-Irish 'cos they took his words in the wrong sense. This Swift style is why I like him so much, he's terribly sour in his irony, and never care on what the reaction of the people could be. The two biggest Irish bollocks ;D I have it somwhere in my house, I should re-read it someday. By the way, is anybody interested on Australian girls... oh sorry, I wanted to say Australian literature; I've been thinking that it could be a great theme for a Dotoral Thesis; the problem is that I would never be able of affording a travel to Australia, and even less to live there for a couple of years. This world is still too much unfair, if you want to study something you need to have money, if not... go to the McDonald's and serve Big Macs Again my age crisis

Yeah, I think it's proposal. I also had to read it at my studies a year ago. When I read it for the first time I thought: "How could such a brilliant author write a book for children. This year I had to read Gulliver and now I know how he could ;D
And what is Dotoral Themes??

Oh, I missed one letter. I meant Doctoral Thesis... I supposse it's called something like that in your different countries; it's this huge investigative work you have to do in order to became a Doctor in you studies... the problem is that I don't think I would be admitted on the Doctoral program... I don't think any professor think that I'm worthy of it. And the other problem is that the English literature department is ruled by a bunch of femminist dildo-lovers who think that the only thesis that are worthy are those that investigate literature of lesbian drugaddict exiliated poetress, and everything I'd like to study is of the kind of Arthuric myth, Nashe, Coleridge and so on; so I think I could only propose things like Poetry on Jethro Tull lyrics, or in My Dying Bride lyrics... but since this is music it wouldn't be accepted neither... that's why I'm interested now on Australian literature, 'cos it's a tiny thing not studied at all in Europe... but the problem is that I could never afford studying this kind of literature 'cos I would never get money to go to Australia and investigate... PERKELE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a nice theme! Just now i'm reading Marti Larni's book "fourth vertebra" though it is rather communistic... My faveourit poet is Katri Vala. About Paasilinna i really was shoked by the story of a guy and a rabbit , i faild to find out his books ((( i get the impression that in russian was translated only Wood of hanging Foxes... Also i like Lassi Nummi. Hiding, do you really appriciate Pelevin? (have you read his last book werewolf...?)

Talyla, yes I've read it and found it one of the best his books Much better than his last DPP(nn). Though "critics" say that it is a review of what he wrote before, it is brilliant. I liked both philosophy and his ironic style. My favourite Russian author. Also, I like his novels. I've had a book, but gave it to someone and then it was lost, so I can't read it now. But I'd like to, because they are brilliant too! @ Dave: now i've got it! But your teachers really don't allow someone to have a Doctoral Thesis after some good work?

@ Dave: now i've got it! But your teachers really don't allow someone to have a Doctoral Thesis after some good work? The problem is that I wouldn't start working if I don't have a previous certainty that I have the tools to do my work; I mean, the smaller problem is the teachers allowing my Thesis; the worst is that I would be suppossed to buy every book on my own, and that's something I can't afford. This related to once I would have done the work. related to if teachers would accept me in the Doctoral program... the problem is that I'm known (or I'm suppossed to be known) as one of the most lazy students that have been studying at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid... so I don't think any proffessor would want to be my tutor on the Thesis. That's the problem, sadly, my reputation preceeds me ;D But I don't even know if I really want to star doing the post-graduate studies... I'm a big doubt myself

I didn't understand why you had been surprised by the rainbow in the end? About Che Guevara. It seems to me that Pelevin really respects him, because, you surely remember, he's already been mentioned in Generation P.
