Yepp, would be interresting.
My occupation, huh... I'm going to a school that stresses onsocial stuff, and now I know what I DON'T want to do later. I'm planning to study celtology and English philology, but I'm not shure if that is possble with my "abitur".

've just finished my final thesis about women in viking society Wow! Is there a possibility that I can read it later on after the professors are through with it etc.? Yeah, sure. My two professors finished reading it in January and both gave me an A. So, there's a good chance the 105 pages are a worthwile read ;-). I just need to put it in one computer file because the contents is kinda scattered right now (text, bibliography, contents, attachments). I'll let you know because I've really planned to do this anyway. And about not studying History for teaching is a stupid advise from that Arbeitsamt guy. The numbers change every year and it always depends on how many people apply for a job. You should most definitely study what your passion is. You need to put a lot of time, sweat and maybe also tears into it. Thus, you have to stay motivated and happy. A job also depends on your second or third subject. Chances get much higher if you add a subject like English or one of the sciences. If you really wanna do it, you should get better information at a university or the Kultusministerien of the Bundesländer.

You should most definitely study what your passion is. Yes, that's what I think as well. You shouldn't choose your studies from the point of what's NEEDED now and where you might get a job, that kind of changes very quickly, it's just not predictable. Most probably you have done something then you hated to learn and don't have a job either (or if you have you hate what you do all the time). Like you said, one should study what one's passion is and try to get a job in that sector then. Don't know how often I have been told how stupid and useless it is to study Finnish But I'd never change to anything that would make more sense in these people's eyes, because that wouldn't make much sense for me.

Exactly. It will be eating you from inside if you have a job you hate. I know there are people who just see a job as a money bringing thing. For me, a job needs to bring me at least some fulfillment. I wanna work with people and try to help them become critical people who strive for their own way. And I need enough free time to make my own thing and do all the things I love and can't do in a profession.

when i asked for becoming history-teacher, the arbeitsamt-guy showed tendencies for many subjects after experiences of many years... but i don't care... on the other side nobody want to have qualifications, that are not needed, and without getting a job in this way...

The History of my studies has been quite quite colorful ;D At the moment, I study at the gymnasium or a high school or how do you would like to call it and hope that i would graduate sometime because i don't want to stay here forever... I started my studies in the business college to study computers in the autumn but realized after a while that it isn't the thing i want from my life after all. What do I want? That I don't know yet, so that's why i chose gymnasium because it gives you more choices in the future. I have no realistic view about my future in studies when i gratude...I don't even know when does this bright day come...

Maybe worse plumbers, but definately no better singers! ;D Besides being a Korpiklaani fan I have done many things, and still do. After high school, and one year at art school I decided this wasn't entirely what I wanted , passed exams for a higher degree of highschool and went to university to study science of education and next to that I studied mathematics. I didn't finish both... started after two years to work for a software agency as writer/editor/programmer. I was carried away with this new phenomenea: the computer! During that I period got three kids (2 boys, 1 girl) and since my parents (musicians) were away all the time, I decided not to and stayed home. I did some translating work and wrote several software manuals. Also made the magazine of the Groningen horse many years, next to a part of the website maintanance. Due to circumstances I have to earn the family income now, and I became a full time book translator and photographer, though I don't get enough photo-assignments (which I like best) and also do too much for free, because I like the people concerned. Next to that I love to play guitar and sing, read books, sleep and do many other things. But most of my spare time goes to the household and playing taxi-driver for my kids...

've just finished my final thesis about women in viking society Wow! Is there a possibility that I can read it later on after the professors are through with it etc.? Oooh, I'd like to read it too! I had recently picked up a book called "Women in the Viking Age" by Judith Jesch and am finding it quite interesting... About the original topic, I am so sorry to know that the talented Korpiklaani members have to have other jobs! There are so many talent-less pop star millionaires, it's not fair... the Korpiklaani guys should not have to do any other work, if they don't want to.... And to add my bit about myself... I have a degree in Psychology, with a concentration in neuroscience... I volunteer to be the band psychologist... ;D but actually I am not doing anything for a living even remotely related to this! I'm doing freelance art and graphics, which is great for flexible time but very unstable for money (sometimes plenty, sometimes none!) I get bored very quickly and tend to try to change types of work frequently, I just can't seem to find anything I love enough to stay with, though I did love being a student! I'm finding I love fine art a lot more than graphic design though, and am trying to head in that direction, but it's a difficult path, artists rarely make enough.
