One that is quite prevalent for me at the moment is Everlasting by Galneryus
Only two lines of the whole song are in English, but they speak volumes!
"Everlasting in your eyes, I don't wanna give up saving you"

I think two songs are the greatest love songs : The Sins of thy Beloved ~ Until the dark (very dark and sad) Sonata Arctica ~ Juliet (for me, the most elaborated love song, one that doesn't sound like old Bon Jovi's, unlike too many songs)

I could probably list 100 different Love songs that I... Love. I'm oddly enough a sucker for Romantic themes, although my favorite Love songs are those that involve longing, yearning, and a loss or absence of Love. On the metal front: "Die Gier" and "Alte Liebe" by In Extremo are extremely very moving. Sear Me MCMXCIII by My Dying Bride - this is the first song of theirs I've ever heard. Popping in my first tape of their "Turn Loose the Swans" as given to me by my brother, and I fell in love immediately. Although this song is not "metal", it falls in the Doom Metal genre, so there. "One Last Goodbye" and "Sweet Tears" - Anathema side-by-side with My Dying Bride I listened to this bad endlessly growing up. Aside from metal: Sonnentau - Nachtblume. Although the lyrics are not directly about Love, they are assuredly about Romance and the link with man and Nature by my favorite poet Eichendorff. Sonnentau did a beautiful job of capturing the essence of this song... I nearly cry everytime I hear it. For the matter, any one of Schumann's Eichendorff renditions from his Liederkreis. And of course, the lovely songs of the German minnesingers. Walther von der Vogelweide's "Under der Linden" to name one of the most prominent. Of which this song alone has been reinterpreted by many medieval themed bands from electronic to folk metal. The lovely neofolk band Werkraum, of whom the majority of their songs spring around Shakespearian romance and love in general. I'll stop there.

I think for songs about love it is hard to go past Nightwish, especially at the end of the Tarja era (which also defines the end of Nightwish full stop for lots of people I know, including me). It is the most darkly romantic thing - this is not some cynical and emotionless songwriting exercise, this is a guy pouring his heart out in these incredibly beautiful songs, which he writes for his muse to sing, with whom he has been madly in love for years, but who never returned his love, and who in the ultimate act of betrayal gave her heart to another. He writes with increasing passion, desperation and clarity these odes to her, which she then sings before thousands of people, knowing full well his feelings, but powerless to make him see reason. It culminates in the searing epic Ghost Love Score and in her banishment and his humiliation. Rarely is unrequited love so publically displayed. Funny "love" song: Teräsbetoni's Orjatar ;D, especially when sung by some fat hairy bloke in a karaoke booth, like I saw once. Jumalaisen nautinnon!!!!

And Ghost Love Score is tragic and powerful, one of the best. Another one is beautiful also it's Iced Earth "A question of heaven" www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtLcaFuxlGs A very sad love song inspired on the Spawn saga.

Because I am really looking forward to Hammerfall at Nova Rock I was listening to "Crimson Thunder" today and this album includes a love song I like very much: Dreams come trueAnd I also want to mention Willst du and Dein Anblick by Schandmaul. But there are many more, too much to list them all.

I've missed good topic Thanks Seana for bringing it up! Firts of all, even tho I like to listen so called harder metal aka Black Metal, Doom and Death metal. I'm huge fan of metal ballads allso I guess its the romantic part of mine that we all have The list would be endless, so I torture my self and choose the top 5 which isn't easy! And these are in order, tho places might change time to time, but lets say right now: 1. Thurisaz - Endless Can't even describe how this makes me feel. My all time favorite! 2. Cinderella - Don't Know What You Got (Till' It's Gone) My favorite song from Cinderella. 3. Lullacry - Heart Shaped Scars Lullacry is my medicine when I'm strugling with emotions, their albums are just so close to me. 4. Lunatica - Power of Love Andreas voice is just perfect in this song. 5. Gary More - Still Got the Blues (For You) Its a shame that so good song is only at 5th place, but as I said its very hard to put em to order And there are plenty of good songs out there! With these songs, I wish you good night

There isn't just one love song for me.I've "ones".They are; Ghost Love Score by Nightwish. This is a long song. Its symphony and Tarja's voice had combined. And this combination has a significant effect, lasting 10 mins or very much longer should I say. Poison by Alice Cooper(It is covered by Tarja .That version is pretty good I think) Wild Child by W.A.S.P. I didn't listened its original version but this is a good work by CoB ;D . I want to show my favs in Turkish. But I prefer keeping them for the topic which I'll update .

I didn't listened its original version but this is a good work by CoB ;D . The orginal is made by Andrew W.K. And it aint bad neither This has been on my playlist for 5 years now And yea, that Nightwish song (Ghost Love Score) is allso one of the best, tho they have many more good songs too. Inc Beaty and the Beast, Astral Romance, Forever Yours, Feel for You, etc. etc. Just remembered one of my old "friend" from the Love song category, when ever I felt need for a song to just take me to the dreams of love (involving my life.. can't describe it in english, just listen the lyrics and you got my point ), it was this one: Lake of Tears - Blossom BlueI know its a bit sad song, but thats one of the best Lake of Tears songs and music and melody are just pure genious
