Dargor: mm, i do not agree. I think Korpiklaani makes great music, but there are more bands that are also great, everyone within his own style. I love to listen ethnic, folk, thrash, celtic even some melo-death and some black metal, besides i like classical music. If one band would mix all those things it would sound awful, and even the mixture of solo-singing and choirs, or a mixture of heavy, folky and classical instruments and voices would just create a messy thing, that no-one would enjoy. When i go to a bakery, i do not expect them to fix my shoes also ;D in short: let everyone do what he/she is best in and feels for.

So I must buying hundreds of CDs and worship hundreds of bands and that's complicated, I would like to worship one band that has EVERYTHING No offence, but I have to disagree with you as well and namely agree with Humppaporo; I truly hope that you understand that it's completely impossible and totally unrealistic to demand all these elements each from very different directions to be included in one single band in any such way that it could ever work at all, without even talking about losing any of the naturality, unity and pure heart of the people involved in it all. It just wouldn't make any sense to mix everything up, as doing so would most likely nothing but just end up as indefinite bunch of chaos. At least in my humble opinion it'd namely be best to properly concentrate on one, a couple or just some few of ideas/concepts/etc. at once instead, as via that the concept is namely possible to manage with, to hold up and keep everything going and together and still without losing anything essential from the whole. Personally I haven't ever found it anything else but only the most natural way to own hundreds of CDs and like & listen to them each in their own way and moment; as I of course like several kinds of music styles/artists/etc., I couldn't ever, EVER imagine that there'd be just a one and only band to have for example the traditional/epic & funeral doom metal together with brutal slam death, heavy metal of the 80's, Siberian singing traditions, American-Indian trad.music, modern EBM/industrial, futuristic space ambient, retro electronics & game music all in the same bunch, as it just wouldn't make sense, be natural nor anything I myself like in the music I like to listen to and/or what I myself search for in those styles/genres/artists/bands/etc. that I find interesting and intriguing. Personally I consider all those bands interesting, fascinating, original and unique namely because of what they are now when they're all concentrating each on doing their very own thing within one or just a couple of styles/elements and so; IMO such shouldn't really be too complicated to anyone, but namely just the natural and consistent way it all goes in this life in general and which just should be realized and get used to. Feet on the ground and so on; ain't, ain't, nudge-nudge.

male clean vocals, female clean vocals, death and black vocals, choirs, orchestra, double bass drumming, solo and rhythm guitars, bass, keyboards, mandolins, bagpipes, flutes and lot's of folk instruments.. Isn't there like dozens of german "folk metal" bands that have all of those? Not forgetting the industrial elements.

öhm, croatiaklaani... you yourself started a topic which is more suitable for this discussion. I suggest that we continue this discussion there.and for me, Korpiklaani is just as it should be. Happy that they are what they are, and that they don't bend over to become something less genuine than they are now. It is just matter of 'like it, or not'! Nothing is so important as being yourself, that goes in music and in personal life!

That would be cool and interesting Listen here, Korpiklaani is one of my favorite bands and I listen it often but it's not a COMPLETE band cause it has only one kind of vocal.. I can't listen just them because I miss female vocals so I must listen to Nightwish, then I miss black and death vocals so I must listen black and death bands, then I miss melodic power metal and classical music then I must listen to Rhapsody... So I must buying hundreds of CDs and worship hundreds of bands and that's complicated, I would like to worship one band that has EVERYTHING: male clean vocals, female clean vocals, death and black vocals, choirs, orchestra, double bass drumming, solo and rhythm guitars, bass, keyboards, mandolins, bagpipes, flutes and lot's of folk instruments.. I think it's silly to expect Korpiklaani to burden themselves with all that - they are perfect just as they are!!! However, if you are looking for a band that masterfully incorporates pretty much all of those elements (except the orchestra), look no further than the Norwegian band Asmegin. They have only one album so far called "hin vordende sod & so" and the way they mix all of those elements is extremely masterful, better than any other band I've heard trying to mix all that in. I hope they come out with another album someday. But this thread is about the upcoming Korven Kuningas.... I can't wait... to me Korpiklaani can do no wrong, every album has been freakin amazing, and I think they should follow only their inspiration and intuition, and not listen to a word their fans say...

Now I know all this is impossible for Korpiklaani but at least few female singers and small male choir or guest male clean deep vocals like Vintersorg would be cool and more complete, richer and interesting.. And if you have listen to Vakirauta there are all ready some kind of backing growls, actually more like screams, so Cane is shown that he have some singing possibilities, also in Kaadet Siipinaa there is male viking choir but they are not singing words, some fast staccato choir that really sings would be mighty And about Jonne himself I would like that in new albums he sings more yoiks like he (or someone) did in Finntroll Jaktens Tid album in songs Jaktens Tid, Vargtimmen, Aldhissla. Maybe you should listen to Tiamat - Clouds or Wildhoney?? It has almost everything (maybe without power metal )

I don't listen this kind of music. this mix is good, there are all ready bands that mix this things and lot's of people enjoy their music. Yes, very good album, but they have only one album and they ruin it with sound of baby crying, very irritating sound. Yes, they are good but too depressive and boring for often listening Not my kind of music. How to speak about Korven Kuningas when no one didn't here it. I can only continue talking about what would I like to here in new album. But I won't anymore, maybe I am overreact with Korpiklaani changes so I'm sorry. I don't want that you think that I don't like too much Korpiklaani, but I'm just interested how little (not too much) female vocals and male deep clean vocal would sound just from time to time. Because songs where are all ready some kind of additional vocals or some faster and heavier songs sounds very good for me, and I like vocals from Varttinna - they sing very finnish and pagan and that's why I think they could be good for Korpiklaani. But I'm also enjoying Korpiklaani way they are and it's band from which I have most merchandise, all original albums and 4 shirts, bought directly from their website, I'm going to their concert and will buy there also new shirt and Shaman albums if they bring it, also I'm promoting this concert on all forums and will spreading flayers in my town: So, when will new album be released? If it's all ready finished why not 1.1.2008.? ;D Put some samples on myspace. Can't wait.

I don't listen this kind of music. I didn't refer to anything such; I only took my own musical interests as an example for presenting my own thoughts just the same way as you did with yours there earlier, nothing more. But I've said enough about the whole issue for my own part for now, thus over and out. Everybody now carry on with the original subject of this thread.

Everybody now carry on with the original subject of this thread. And anyone going too much off-topic on this thread will be severely punished! There is a thread how everyone would change 'klaani already, this one is solely for the upcoming album. Now let's try to behave

Oh come on, it wasn't my purpose to scare everyone out of this thread! I'm really waiting to see the cover art, I've always loved those painted album covers. In the 80's even the smallest metal bands had those, but nowadays they're pretty rare. Is it Yrlund again who's painting the cover art?
