Introducing Korpiklaani to my dad. I turned "Beer Beer" on, said to my dad: Listen! This is Korpiklaani! (Told him many times about them). His reaction: "It is similar to the music that you make with Svidgar!" Yes, Korpiklaani is an influence

HeHe. Well I have shown my parents the albums and they said that they could listen to particular songs now and again. However I have got my girlfriend into korpiklaani (she is on this forum now) and she loves wooden pints. My friends little brother who is 9 keeps playing Korpiklaani and he also likes wooden pints and happy little boozer And basically I am just trying to get my friends into them and it is kinda working. (also we found out my friends dogs loves beer becuase we was listening to beer beer and during that song the dog knocked over the can and lapped the beer up

Well, not introducing Korpiklaani to my parents but there happened a funny story yesterday at university. We have a blackboard in front in the Finnish department and I put a few flyers that had anything to do with Finland there - including this one with the tour dates of Korpiklaani. And yesterday when we were studying in the library there came someone in and asked if one could borrow some Korpiklaani stuff there, he had listened to them on a Rock Hard sampler and was interested in listening to more songs now ;D

My dad's reaction: "It's kinda like Jethro Tull! You know Jethro Tull, right? Here, listen to this LP of Aqualung."
My mom's reaction: "Not again."

It was me who introduced Korpiklaani to my kids Daughter's a big punk/ska fan and son is young enough to have to put up with whatever we listen to, but they both enjoy a bit of Korpiklaani. It'll always remind me of driving my daughter 250 miles to her university as it was the only cd we had in the car that day. They've both complained that I play it too much though ps - my mum likes it too ;D

It was quite easy. I wanted to go to the gig in Montabaur, so I told my mum and she agreed. A few days later she came into my room when I was just watching the Wooden Pints video. She doesn't like Metal but she's open-minded and doesn't really care about what I listen to. The only problem is that she's always worried when I go to metal concerts and she was a bit angry because I came home at about 1 AM ;D Luckily she didn't notice the beer bottle I had taken with me from the gig. ;D Introducing Korpiklaani to my class was harder because most of them associate metal with stanism. But even they kinda like Korpiklaani now

My mom loves it (my parents are both into metal), I just borrowed her the cd. my room mate always calls korpiklaani just "the seven dwarves" and my reply is always: "they are just six dwarves, babe" my boyfriend likes them on stage and finds it okay on Cd (he's only into death and thrash)

Heheheee this is a good idea, I have to see if my mom would like Korpiklaani. She might; she's 55 and she was very into Led Zep, Jethro Tull, etc. back in the day. I had already played for her Nightwish and Therion (later stuff), and she liked them, though she said they are a little heavy to listen to for too long! She may like the Shaman discs, those are not too heavy at all I think! Nowadays she listens to New Age music, so I think her heavyness tolerance has gone way down...

Strangely enough my dad prefers Drangonforce. My mum prefers the soft stuff of Korpiklaani, like Kadet Siipina, with trees and mainly the instrumentals, but I am doing her a CD with folk songs frmo Finland like some korpiklaani/Turisas and the song Trollfest by Trollfest Not to forget Lai Lai Hei by Ensiferum. I think my parents would like to go to The korpiklaani gig if they come to the UK.

My mother likes Korpiklaani much. We were visiting her in Hämeenlinna with my woman last weekend and I had Tales with me. My mother likes very much humppa-beats in the first place and she listens quite a lot rock music too, so she got fascinated with 'Klaani. My father has not heard Korpiklaani, althought I've mentioned the band quite a many times. He lives in Rauma, in West-Finland. But I made him to listen Shaman few years ago and he liked it. He don't usually like metal much - he's more of country and blues man - but he thought that Shaman was original and interesting band. My father plays bass guitar and drives with Harley Davidson.
