Almost every Aleksis Kivi's poem is transformed to a form of a song. Here's good link: www.nurmijarvi.fi/kivi/teokset/savellykset/fi_FI/runoittain/ As you can see, there's already a quite many versions of Seitsemän miehen voima. But that doesn't stop you covering it, if you have completely own kind of arrengement in it!

I've also read the book and i love it! I would really welcome if you made a few songs or even an album dedicated to the book. Pityfully you can hardly find any further literature of Kivi in Germany/german =( If anyone can tell me where i can find his literature in german your help is welcome =)

I just reread this fantastic book! The christmas selebration chapter is abosultely marvellous, never fails to make me laugh when they start their different strenght competitions. Some of the comments Timo make are hilarious. "Wait, wait! I'm losing my pants!"

We read it loud in the school, you can guess how hard it was to try staying calm while there come phrases like that ! I think Amorphis has made many consept-albums about Kalevala, which might interest you guys also? Actually i first thought it was 7 veljestä Amorphis was all about but then when i was writing it, Kalevala stroke my brain like a lightning and i felt like a complete idiot.

All the books we had to read in school were by local authors and stuff. Apparently Minnesota like pumps out novelists for some strange reason. (makes me wonder why they weren't impressive enough for me to know about)
Good news is that when I get a firm grasp on Finnish I WILL be checking out the book thanks to you guys. It sounds really good, and definitely something in higher caliber than all the crappy Anne Rice books that are thrown at me. (no offense to anyone who likes Anne Rice, I just think vampires are dumb especially if they're sexualized)

I finally bought my own copy of Seitsemän veljestä yesterday (it was on sale so I could not resist) and started to read it again. Every finn should have their copy of these masterpieces of finnish literature, I think. Including Kalevala and Kanteletar.

I bought that book two weeks ago. I have of course read it earlier at school but now I have got excited of that. That's so brilliant book.
I like most Aapo cos' he tells intelligent stories. I want to do some song based on some of those stories.

You guys made want to read it as well! So I got it today xD. I was really surprised when I asked for the book and the librarian immediately knew what it was and where it was. My ignorance is my bliss. Every adult has read the book and/or participated in the play . Man, I like that book.
