Hi
I don't know where to creat this topic, I hope it's ok if I creat it here.
I creat this topic to speak and to question about Finland (administration, governement, education, finance, health, culture... and many other).
My first question is about CV (curriculum vitae). I would like to do an internship in neurosciences in Finland. I must write a cover letter and a CV in english (I juste have some notion in Finnish and the universal sciences language is english).
What is the particularity of finnish CV (ok I write in english) ? What the order of section (personal details, education, work experience, hobbies...) ?
Thinks for your advice.

Well no-one replied and I guess you've wrote your CV already, but anyways. I think there isn't any official code for the order of CV. Most important things first (contact info, work history, education) and less important things last (hobbies, whatever pet handling and bicycle riding skills)

I have an other question.
In Helsinki, it's easy to find a flat-sharing ? (some student on the same flat, who rent the flat together).

When I came to study in Helsinki, I got my first apartment in a week. Now I'm living also Hoas-apartment - very much bigger and more comfortable than my previous house - with my woman.

On a possibly related note...
When visiting Finland what areas do you suggest?
I want to avoid tourist traps. I love nature and the countryside. I really want to be able to go on a hike and see some of the natural beauty of the land.

There are metal Pub/Bar with concert in Helsinki? For metal gigs in Finland check out this site: > www.imperiumi.net/First point on "Infot", then click on "Keikkalista"; there you can see which bands are playing, when and where. And back on the main site, click on "Hevibaarit" from the same "Infot" -section to view out the metal bars in Finland; via that page you can also find the links to their possible homesites and further info.

(and mosquitos in summer ) @helran: congratulations!!

We dont know what season we are coming in yet... but we both like music, drinking, hockey and cool landscapes. What can we do thats not completely tourist like?? Were probably down to try just about anything

Dude did you read the response just above your post? Anyway its exactly one year ago today I left Finland, so some things I liked: In Helsinki try Temppeliaukio Church (Church in the Rock) and Seurasaari Open-Air Museum, catch a ferry to Suomenlinna or somewhere further afield - Estonia. Have a meat pancake and strong black coffee at Helsinki markets. Ask strangers the way. Wander past Spinefarm Records building. All pretty unforgettable for me.

We dont know what season we are coming in yet... but we both like music, drinking, hockey and cool landscapes. What can we do thats not completely tourist like?? Were probably down to try just about anything For music and drinking I suggest that you stay in Helsinki or any of the five largest cities, but don't just stick in a city for your whole stay. To get around, I suggest that you rent a car since the long-distance public transportation costs a fortune. Gasoline is also really expensive if compared to US, but I think that a car is still a cheaper way, plus you can get to the rural areas and actually see the landscapes with it. I recommend that you visit Lapland if you have time, but remember that it's a day's drive both ways and you have to fill your tank two or three times each way The traffic and driving culture isn't anything to be concerned about, for it must be the mildest one in Europe if not in the whole world. The general landscape at southern Finland isn't nothing spectacular, so I suggest that you visit some of the various national parks. Ofcourse you can stop by the road and wander in any forest that you like, as there isn't particularly such thing as "trespassing" in here unless you walk into someone's yard or some clearly restricted area. If possible, book your flights now and come here before midsummer so you don't have to suffer from all the mosquitoes and gazillions of other blood-drinking insects ;D The whole summer is also full of different festivals, there's atleast three of them every weekend. By quick Googling I found just THIS list of "quirky" festivals and happenings, but I'm sure there's also a list of all of the music festivals somewhere.

Maybe at a stretch this belongs here...under culture? I found today a review of a "classic Finnish biscuit". Can anyone say if they are a common Finnish biscuit?
