Tina, it seems you are in the position we were in this last election. I HATE when people have the option to vote for anyone they want (even if they aren't on the ticket) and vote just for the "least of the two evils" The least of the two evils is still evil. And just like we've learned from this past election, new president very rarely equals better president. I think the worst part about what we have going on in america is that so many people love our current president that they are blind-sided by every action he takes. They will clap and cheer when he passes a bill that is horrible for the country as a whole, just because it is "new" and "different." And when you criticize him, like I do frequently, you are considered "hahaha, typical redneck conservative."

We had the same situation at the last elections as well. Anyway, you know I'm a monarchist, and voting for me it will always be here a choice of the least ,evil".
For us here tis obvious what's happening in America, and when I say us, I say clear minded people. And if we also say sth bad bout your president, Anwend...we end up being called rasists and such. That is because, like it or not, we live in a narrow minded world.. Thank heavens there are exceptions! ;D

I don't care how many times I've been called racist, Nazi, or the like. To me these are just words to try and demean your cause and your beliefs, and the people that say them are indeed very narrow-minded, as well as close-minded, despite how "open-minded" they claim to be. As soon as someone calls me a racist or the like based on completely incompatible principles, I know already that I've won the argument. I honestly believe the more evil names you are called in this world, the more you are doing something right.

I don't care either, especially because I was called so for wrong idiotic reasons that make me laugh each time: a haircut I had, a scarf full of skulls I wore, a sort of military outfit..or even because of the fact I have a very white skin and unusual features, uncommon with the rest of people here Most stupid reasons! And they chose the wrong person to label so. Just wanted to point how easily and superficially people think... Haha, yeah, your last paragraph tis true! Sth funny too: guys around here know I am a bad seed,so they rarely start a dispute on political matters with me. I'd say they just don't dare.. anyway, the main thing is that today I was responsible, didn't avoid my duty as citizen and hope things turn good for us here...,,less evil"...we'll see.

Folks, I´ve got a special question for you. We all know about the climate summit in Copenhagen and we also know that our head of states are not really able to make a treaty ( I hope some of you are intrested in climate topics ;D) Well I´m fucked. The Summit is damn important for the health of our world and some stated like the USA won´t accept a simple propoasal. No offence to the people who live there but I put too much hope in Obama and his senate and also China was a country I thougth they would like to improve the situation.
Maybe it´s boring and you don´t like the topic but what do you think is important to trade or what do you expect ?

I think we'll have to wait till the end of their summit. And I don't expect anything good. We live in the world where only money and power rule, and the people who have money and power don't seriously care about rainforests and so on. I don't believe in humanity, and I think that it will soon come to its end.
Savi, I think you should start a new topic with this question. So let the moderators move it.

here, the politics is just who can cart of what treasures from Washington DC, and get away with it. It is not unlike the sacking of Rome.

The political situations in Hungary are miserable. All the members of the big parties are lias, they sell our country. This year on the 11th of April there will be elections.. There is a new party called Movement for a Better Hungay, I hope they win.. Finally some true Hungarians, finally a party FOR the Hungarian nation and not against it. I'm definitely on the center-right side.

I'm definitely on the center-right side. I've only read their English-language manifesto, and while there is much to admire in it... perhaps it's better for them and for the country if they don't win outright. Centrist-nationalist parties in power seem to struggle to implement their programs while staying true to their principles and not being hijacked by far right nutters. The best outcome might be for Jobbik to win enough seats to be able to influence domestic policy, whether as a member of a coalition government or as a strong and independent opposition. I like their statement on "Bringing political crime to an end": In Hungary the word “politician” is now synonymous with the word “scoundrel.” A fish rots from the head down; which is why circumstances of decency must first be produced in the country’s leadership. Our goal is not merely the abolition of corruption, it is rather the cessation of the existence of politicians – as lawmakers – as being above the law. That could be applied to many, many other countries...

It's great that you have read it! They must win (well, they will get a lof of "seats" in the Parliament, they got MINIMUM 30% support from the folk. There is no other party in Hungary which WON'T STEAL and lie to us and sell our homes and make the Hungarian men unable to feed their children. I'm not a far right person myself, but Jobbik is our last hope. I don't hate someone for being gypsy, jew or anything else, but here the 95% of the gypsies has no work at all, and is living from the social dole (paid from our taxes!!!) and from stealing. They are violent, aggressive and so on... And yeah, the politicians... They have million forints (10 and 100 000 euros) to advertise themselves but there a lot of people who go straight but can't pay the taxes. One can remember our old president, Ferenc Gyurcsány, he was even in the CNN or BBC or who knows. He said this in Hungarian, word by word: We fucked up. We haven't done anything in the last 4 years. We lied in the morning, at noon and in the evening. "no, not miserable at all" [irony] Oh and well, to be a little bit connected to Korpiklaani. They respect their culture, love their nature, use their folk instruments, love their folklore. Our - but not only our, well, the European government wants to "replace" the nation's consciousness (if this word exists), and replace it by some globalist ideas. I want to be a Hungarian and not a cosmopolitan... And if you wear for example a T-shirt with a Great Hungary (before the Treaty of Trianon 1920) on it, you are called a nazi, an extremist. I hope you all have understood me, my English is not the best but I hope I was clear

I'm a libertarian - In Economics I'm Far right, about sex and drugs I'm to the left. Minimal government, minimal taxation. I can do whatever I want, as long I dont interfere with others freedom. Today Im not able to make my own pontikka, and thats bullshit.

Nightwica: for starters your english is quite good, so no worries there. It was easy to understand your point. It is very similar in america, and many other developed countries for that matter. Almost every politician wants to focus on globalization and corporatism rather than on INDIVIDUAL status and separation. There is no such thing as an "american identity", it is largely whiped out by trying to incorporate everything for everyone. Sadly the people who have to make the biggest sacrifices are those who are born here, especially those not in any protected group, such as immigrants, minorities (a term I think is utter bullshit, you can't try and act like ethnicity isn't important and at the same time throw everyone into "minorities" and "majorities", and even then, these minorities and majorities will differ in each city and state. Bah, I HATE collectivism) etc. For me, as not only one of European ancestry, but also being a Male, I have to deal with a lot of bullshit. If you even MENTION the word "race", you are considered racist, despite the fact that the most "tolerant" people are the ones obsessed the most with this concept. If you talk about women, even as a joke, you are a sexist. I don't care who you are, I don't care if you are black, a woman, or whatever sort of lifestyle you lead. As long as you don't bother me, we won't have a problem, and if we do have a problem, it's NOT because of "race" or any other label.... I hate labels too, I don't believe pigeon-holing someone into a certain name holds any truth. I'd rather focus on what someone isn't rather than try and denote what they are, especially in terms of politics. As soon as you say something that is against collectivism, against regulation, etc. you're automatically deemed "a right-wing republican". Maybe it's only this bad in my city. America is so large that such things differ, in some places liberals are more talked down against, but those cities are dwindling day by day. I'd like to see better political parties here. Thankfully though more and more libertarians are taking the reigns, and are interested in preserving things like the constitution. I may not agree with the constitution 100%, nor with everything libertarians believe in, but to me they are as spot on as we have come across in this nation. Sadly people think they are "crazy".... maksi: Minimal government and minimal taxation is always wonderful, if only more people would speak up about this! Sadly though here I've noticed that people actually LIKE government. They like not having to take responsibility for their own lives, and would rather blame the government for everything rather than taking a look at themselves and figuring out what they can do to change it... In regards to personal freedoms, I do enjoy this concept. However there is great truth in the quote "my freedom ends where yours begins." Individual freedoms overlap one another; my freedom to enjoy peace and quiet is interrupted when another's freedom to listen to music loud comes into play. Here arise many political questions and problems. But the sole concepts of freedom in terms of life and liberty should be impeded by no one.

Sadly, here the gypsy minority is now the majority! More than half of the kids born these days is GYPSY and not Hungarian! This is unbelievable, it's a tragedy, shame on you, Hungary.
Yesterday were the elections, the right-wing but too old and fucked up party Fidesz-KDNP is 1st, with around 50%, second is MSZP- the motherfucking socialists, those who were communists 20 years ago with 19-20%, and the third is Jobbik Magyarországért Mozgalom with 17-18% - (far) right wing, but nor rascist, just it's on the side of the nation, not against it (like MSZP) and it's called far right because of this.. But about 1 million people voted for it, which is in a 10 million's country a big number. I'm a bit sad, that we (I really do like Jobbik's ideas) couldn't be better than the socialists. I have to mention, they gave free food, tea etc. for their voters. And 400 Forint / gypsy family who votes for them.... (400 Forint is 2 USD) But our party developed in 2 years from nothing, without money from the state, and we are in the Parliament so this is a great starting!
