Yeah, Sethlad, you have told the question very clearly. I liked the adjective "Martinless", hehehehe ;D I agree with you in that every case is a different case, in the end. Sometimes it's very clear (or I see it that way), like in Skyclad. I agree with Silvio in that Iron Maiden are the other way around... that's why I said it was logical to keep the name. An example not as extreme as Ulver is maybe Atrocity. Their style has also suffered mutations but I still stick name with music. Maybe it's Alex Krull's poweful charisma Ahum, about Moonspell... I was really a fan, and liked Irreligious... then on The Butterfly Effect I started to listen to them less often. They sounded too much like Depeche Mode... Good ideas but I wanted the old sound back. But they kept a style, I respect them although don't listen to them very often now. I haven't even checked "Sin/Pecado", what may be a mistake, and I haven't listened to "Darkness & Hope" (is so that?) what is surely a mistake, as long as I know... Another good band from Portugal: Heavenwood And another band with a good evolution but that I don't listen too often now: Anathema. From doom metal to almost Pink Floydian atmospheres. Their last albums are very good... but is it really Anathema?

I haven't even checked "Sin/Pecado", what may be a mistake,.. You haven't missed a thing, it's mostly boring crap. Wolfheart is their only good album i'm aware of.

VIRANDO COSTAS AO MUNDO!! ORGULHOSAMEEEEENT SÓS! GLÓRIA ANTIGA VOLTA A NÓÓÓÓOÓÓÓÓS!*
Alma Mater kicks ass as a song... probably my fave Moonspell song. Very, very "portuguese"
However, my fave recording is the Mcd "Under the Moonspell". Very "ethnic", great violin work. Wolfheart is also quite good though. Trebaruna and Ataegina are excellent folkish tunes. Irreligious... ok... acceptable. But everything after that... crap. boring, boring crap.
*Turning our backs to the world Proudly alone Ancient glory Return to uuuuuuuuuuus.
Reminiscing about the time when we ruled half the world... o'well. Typicall portuguese saudosismo. (no translation for that) Great song still...

Alma Mater... yeahhh great song. I remember, in a Moonspell gig, that a guy in front of us kept screaming all the concert "ALMA MAAATEER!!", asking for the song, until one of my friends lost patience and screamed at him: "ALA ALWAAAATER" which could be translated as "go to the toilet" ;D It was directed to the guy, not the band, 'course. I also like Ataegina, of course, and Trebaruna... very folkish indeed... they could have stuck to that style, isn't it? Then there would be a great Portuguese folk band now, maybe. Here in Spain we have "Mago De Oz" but I don't really like them... their concept is crap, and I don't like the members... For me it is important to get a positive impression from the guys in the band. If they're suckers or prepotent, I can't like the music (mostly). Well, with Manowar it's an exception ;D @southern Troll: fave Korpiklaani/Shaman song deserves a thread on its own... please create one, I've almost spent all my energy for the day

Fernando sing this song very fast! Use any sound editor to decrease speed. Then you get a doom version and can easily sing ;D

Bro, who the fuck was the one who told that of ALAALWATER? It's really good ;D. Did the guy realised it was for him? You can find so many freaks in a show asking so much strange songs! I was two sundays ago in Paul Mccartney's gig in Madrid; I love Paul Mccartney's work, with and without the Beatles. I had on my left hand a guy asking a song from Beatles' White ALbum _called Rocky Racoon well, it's actually a good song but not for a show! It would be funny to write which strangest song you would like to ask in a show. Anybody wants to crete the thread?
