Put a picture here and make something up about it, have fun! Of course everyone knows that polar bears are widely spread in Finland. And of course the government wants to keep it that way… since it is utterly good for tourism. But the thing is that the changing climate endangers polar bears. That is why the Finns built special ‘Jääkarhuasuntovaunuja’ -polar bear caravans – with climate control and of course a inside swimming pool. They travel around all summer, that is, as long as it is too hot for them. They travel so that the bears get a chance to see something of the surroundings without getting sunburned, otherwise they would look too much like the normal brown bear. On the side of this picture you can see a building - no, this is not an old sauna - which is part of the big Native American campside that Finland is building to attract tourists from everywhere. Because in winter they have Santa and skiing, but in summer most tourists like to see something else than trees, lakes and rocks. In the campside you can see real, genuine Native Americans living their lives. They asked the Saami people first, but they were too busy to herd their reindeer and most of all to prevent large scale wood cutting. (this photo i took about 2 weeks ago in Finland)

Good idea Just to rebound about "Changing climat" I took it in January 2007, from my window of the appartement where I live. About the story, when I was a child, 15 years ago approximately, there was a lot of snow and during long time (some days or weeks). I remember that I made sledge on the slopes of this bunker, I made snowman and snowball wars... ;D But now I can't no more, not because I have grown up but because there is extremely few snow and when it snows, it is short-living, some hours and in the best of case during one day and generally it is not enough to play with it. I speak about the snow in city, of course if you go to the mountain it is different and you can ski and more. *Helran nostalgic*

I come from Texas. Years ago, cows mated with disco balls from the German settlers near New Braunfels. While most of their descendants have evolved into sport utility vehicles, there are still reports of brightly mirrored cows walking the countryside. Most people, however, have to settle for finding a skull in the countryside and hanging it in their kitchen. This is where Christmas lights and Rubbermaid food storage containers come from, as you can see here.

P.s.: I read Add not Odd in the title of the thread... my photo is not odd... although maybe a little bit, because the snow become infrequent.

Summers are usually very hot in Hungary, especially in Budapest, in the capital city. Thus the almighty major of Budapest decided to help all his citizens to cool down a bit. He attended Lomonosov University during the socialist era, so he's got very good connections with the Chinese leaders. (This good connection is underlined by the fact that 90 % of Budapesters wear Chinese clothes and almost all kids play Chinese toys, moreover Chinese super department stores and fast food restarurants are opened daily and also the Budapest roads are getting similar to rural Chinese roads during summers due to the different road and metro constructions.) So, Mr. Major signed a contract and Budapest imported a rain-.making machine, which is used weekly, mainly on Fridays or Saturdays, resulting a sudden huge rainstorm in the city. The rain has two main purpose: The only problem is that this rain-making machine doesn't work properly, so German engineers are invited to correct the equipment.

There were two cats who were watching Animal Planet one day. A Siamese cat, they were told, was a noble breed who was extremely intelligent and athletic. Catzilla said to Sir Meeps a Lot, "Let's become Siamese!" Unfortunately, neither of them knew how to become Siamese. They asked their tea drinking caretaker who thought they were asking for catnip. After spending an hour drooling and rolling around on the floor, they asked the sofa, which did not give them any useful advice other than "take a nap." After their nap, they asked the Crazy but Wise Orange Cat, who told them to go on the computer, which has a vast amount of information. One day, when their tea drinking caretaker went to slave away at the office, they fired up the computer and went to Wikipedia and looked up "Siamese." After reading the entry on Siamese twins, they learned that, "Siamese" also meant "Conjoined." Catzilla said, "I don't think that's what they meant - I have never seen a Siamese cat with two heads before!" Sir Meeps a Lot responded, "Then maybe we should join at the head." They gave it a try and fell asleep. Their tea drinking caretaker returned home from work and posted a picture of their progress on a forum for all the world to see:

Last week it was eventually my turn to fall from a bike because of the icy ground. Belonging to the more robust bike breeds in Finland, my bike got away unscathed. Time to take a look at the bike life in this town. As commonly known, the bike population is Oulu is very big, which causes people to live in close companionship with their bikes. Bikes don't have a preferred habitat, they survive in the city just as well as in the forest. Some stay outside all the time, some might seek the shelter of a storeroom during the night. Most of the bike breeds living in Oulu have adapted to the climate and don't hibernate as the breeds in Southern Finland usually do. That means you may see bikes in winter, spring, summer and autumn (here a bike taking a swim before the river freezes over in winter). In general the average, rugged Oulu bike can carry heavy weights, has however a weakness for bikes from Hailuoto.

Below you can see a french woodcut from 1450-1470 that depicts a curious phenomena that was witnessed near Chátearoux during the harvest time. Cardinal Pierre Pololo writes that a local farmer was hasting with his horse cart as he wanted to collect the last sheaves of wheat before the sunset. Just outside Abbaye De Déols the cart's wheel hit a rock causing the axle to break and letting the wheel run loose down the road. The wheel traveled with such velocity that it broke out of this reality and floated into the dimensions unknown. In the picture you can see the wheel at the top-left corner where it is shown as transformed into multidimensional. The farmer is depicted hanging half outside this dimension trying to reach the floating wheel:

It's not odd if we were living in the Dear Dark Middle Ages. Sounds like one of Villiers de L'lsle Adam stories... I've lost once in a hurry a great idea that went to the stars, but sadly, nobody took a pic! That would have been Odd ;D
