There were no lyric translations in the booklet. Why is that?

There were no lyric translations in the booklet. Why is that? All I know is that when I was writing the lyrics, I was told that this time translations aren't needed. Which was actually a good idea, at least for my part, since they're very difficult to translate in English - even for a very rough and raw translation - since all the lyrics are in poetical form and I've used so much archaic Finnish words with them. All that was needed, was just a simple explanation from each Finnish text in English, what happens in every song and what they're about. After I got my information texts ready, we checked them through with the band that they're ok. But of course I can answer straight to you if you have some questions concerning the lyrics and their subjects. I can tell you some details, if you like. So if you have some questions about them, just give it a kick and I try to answer as good as I can.

There were no lyric translations in the booklet. Why is that? We decided that we won't put them on the album anymore. Or as a matter of fact, I decided, and just talked Jonne over. Previously the process was what Juha just told you. He made the rough translations which I then took, corrected the grammar and quite often changed them quite a bit as well. But it was a terrible amount of work for both of us, and it still never was exactly the same thing as his Finnish poems. Basically the reason was that I didn't want to do start all that work knowing already in the beginning that neither Juha or myself won't be totally happy with the result. I think the English explanations in the booklet are doing the job at least as well as the real translations would have done. I think they are even slightly expanded this time, so they should be enough. And everyone is of course welcome to write their translations and post them here... j.

That's fair enough actually. I know it is extremely difficult - near impossible - to convey the exact same meaning in two different languages. It is good that the explanations are still present though; it gives us an idea as to what the song is about, as you both have said.

ye at least it animes some forums & webpages I didn't really liked Karkelo, it is good but the sound of it is different, it isn't as folky as other albums which in part is good since a band has to try new stuff but the theme is IMHO very Anachreontic since it is pretty much based on sensible pleassures and there's nothing wrong with that, but I expected something more deep and power. I only hope that what is happening to Korpiklaani isn't what happened to Ensiferum. Be careful when you talk about Ensiferum, they have also many fans STILL! ^^ well I dont wanna make battle about that in the korpi forum ^^ but yr view ..thats why I like the album. to a point it makes me curious of these songs played live. I don't think I could go to the pagan fest (monday bloody monday!), otherwise cuz of that korpi INDEED & alestorm, I'll try my best to go there! I like that evolution ; to anime even my curiosity! then yeah, well done korpiklaani!

And everyone is of course welcome to write their translations and post them here... Hehe, I could try some for fun sometimes when I got a lot of time ;D But not to rape the awesome lyrics, just to try translating them as good as I can for fun... As you gave the permission But then again, my word storage isn't very big in English. Though this kind of work would be just good for it.

I really love the booklet of karkelo, you guys look great :-D and the album is more than fantastic *_* , I could listen to it the whole day. Today for example I listened to "Könnin kuokkamies" for hours and I still can´t get enough of it :-D Wherever I go I need your music, it makes me happy and brings me to dance and smile ( thats very necessary because my school day can be very boring and drab) Greetings from a crazy little german fan who will support you until the hair turns grey :-)

Today a friend asked me about the background vocals in Könnin kuokkamies. She wanted me to ask you whether only Jonne sings or whether another band member sings in this song

Erämään ärjyt is maybe best song on the album but in the bisnes, i was just wondering about VODKA's video. Why the forest were digitally made? Its great video still but
