Ha! I recommend GT at one point, glad ya liked it. People, indulge me here ,and let me say again a very well known hit: Clintwood's a True Man!!! ;D I can only say I am thrilled to see someone mentioning Klaus Kinski...,,Mein liebster Feind" is a great hommage and a masterpiece as well. Actors like Kinski are so rare and unique...

Indeed, actually that recommendation urged me even more to watch it. Kinski is indeed phenomenal. I've only seen him so far in "Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes" and "Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht" but was absolutely blown away. When I saw how he lived and how he spent hours and hours alone in a small room practicing his voices even as a child I was absolutely blown away. Just goes to show how great of an actor he is, when in only me watching 2 movies (of which I am usually very critical about the actors) he becomes my favorite. I can't think of any actors that come close to Kinski. I've never seen another one quite like him, but I would be glad to come across even one other. Here's some clips of him for those who may not know him already: In "Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht" www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1KO55JBuFEAnd the full "Mein Liebster Feind" documentary, (sorry but no subtitles) on youtube. Sadly, with commercial interruptions. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tma26WSccqY&feature=fvw

My apologies, the documentary actually is dubbed in English, just not the intro. Argh, I hate dubbed movies, but hey, at least it is there for anyone interested in watching it. Although when it comes to Kinski, you must watch with subtitles, it's not the same any other way...

Those two movies are indeed classical and a refference for Kinski's career. He meeting Herzog twas pure rapture for their both creative natures..to bad the clash of the two titans! Kinski burnt for his art as few did in acting. I regret I've never found his ,, All I Need is Love" to read.. an off topic remark: when 18 or so I thought he was the most beautiful man ever ;D Loved his facial bone structure

Exactly, imagine if they never knew each other... I wonder if either of their careers would have taken off. Probably though, since they have always been amazing at what they do. Ironically talking about Herzog and a little before about Christian Bale, I just noticed Christian Bale is in one of Herzog's newer movies. Quite ironic! Kinski does have quite an amazing bone structure, which I honestly think adds to his acting. It gives that freakish stare in Nosferatu, that narcissistic insanity in Aguirre, and so on. It truly is amazing how facial features compliment acting. Then again, body language is a large amount of communication. There you go! You can now add Kinski to the "Sexiest men in the world" thread. although he may get about as much consideration as Rasputin did. haha

Oh,no! I won't put Kinski there, he's sacred ;D and I used the past tense Thanks,if you find ,All I Need...' howl and I'll answer ;D BTW: do you like/anyone like Lars von Trier's films?

You can now add Kinski to the "Sexiest men in the world" thread. Many many years ago I found a pic of Kinski in his theatre role as Goethe's Torquato Tasso, and I'll vehemently echo WalkyriaTina's statement that he's too sacred to be shoved in bawdy threads like that ;D WalkyriaTina, we also need to patent the word you came up with in another thread, 'fantasmic'. Because that is what Kinski is, and especially when playing that character. If you read Goethe's play you will know why. Also- Just watched Nocturno Culto's "The Misanthrope". What a meandering brooding mindwarpfuck! It's the best thing to watch when drinking heavily in gloomy weather, as I have. Simply the best.

Lars von Trier, that is new to me. I will have to check his movies out. I don't know many in the way of European films quite yet, but am slowly getting there. I may be a man, but I would have to agree Kinski does not belong there. haha. To know he was in that theatre role only brings more respect towards him from me, although he has enough already. mindwarpfucks are the best kinds of movies, this one sounds interesting enough, I shall check it out.

You can't overlook the guilty pleasures of movies that are just reel after reel of debauchery. Sometimes it's nice to not have to think and just enjoy the carnage. I went back and watched one of my favorite older movies and I can't tell if it is bad or just awesome, perhaps a little of both? The worst part is I think this movie shaped how I thought women should act as I wanted so badly to be Lena Olin's hitwoman character! The trailer is pretty awful, but the "car scene" (which may not be appropriate to put here as it's kind of brutal) is definately my favorite. Romeo Is Bleeding: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNlEZjsY8Y8

Attempted to watch Highlander: The Source. What a fucking travesty! All my memories of wandering Vancouver with a katana tucked in my trench coat just shattered into a billion little quickenings! 20 minutes of my life I will never get back. Think I should take my Duncan MacLeod katana down from the wall and toss it in the dumpster! How could they?! Did they learn nothing from the original Highlander 2 fiasco?? They should do another where Connor and Kurgan return as headless corpses and kick the crap out of Duncan! I expected so much better from Methos!! I seriously ripped the DVD from the machine and flung it across the room after only a few minutes. I can not for the life of me fathom why these producers, writers, etc. have to mess with beloved plotlines and characters. Additionaly, I read somewhere that they are "remaking" The Crow. Not an adding to the series, but remaking Brandon Lee's original. I'm truly hoping that I imagined that!

Good one, but try "The Deluge" (pol. "Potop"). Book is much longer, but IMO even better that "Through fire and sword" BTW nice that you like język polski ;D

No need to recommend .The Deluge' , I've read it years ago. Btw, we have the same word for deluge in romanian, ,,potop" that is. Kewl, huh? Well, of course I love Polish, my generation here grew up with polish, czech ,russian and bulgarian films, so tis natural to enjoy the language. Plus a far cousin of mine married a polish woman ;D Bakk to films and Sienkiewicz: Quo Vadis is my fave, both the book and the film productions ( prefer the old ones). Pan Marduk, pleased now? ;D
