No, you aren't , I like spiders too. I used to scare my girl mates in highschool with spiders when I could catch one ,hahahaa. Once I even took care of one who had its nest near a shed in the courtyard...i was proud when at the end of the summer she (i trully believed twas a she ) had a big fat belly ;D ;D ;D The family called me crazy and I even got to destroy the nest myself as they intended to kill my little beast there ;D Btw: I kant stand mosquitos. Spiders eat mosquitos. Spiders rule!hahahaaaa

I third that Croc and Tina: I'm a spider lover too. Only few animals creep me out, and most of them are water-dwellers. If you have seen documentaries on some of the deep ocean animals that are out there, you will see how creepy they are: literally they look straight out of a science fiction movie: invisibility, glowing, etc. haha Still they intrigue me though. Like you say Tina: Spiders eat mosquitoes and who likes mosquitoes? I will say that is what I find fascinating about Nature and Ecology. An animal that is harmful to us is beneficial to another and further more to the environment as a whole. I try to get along with all animals, so long as they aren't invading anything and causing a mess: for instance we have ants in our house, seeking out all our food and eating it.. This I must stop because food is precious as it is. No use giving it to ants when they have plenty outside. haha. But ants outside I have no problem with. I don't mind spiders period though. I admire every animal that I can draw parallels with. In the spider's case it's the lone-"wolf" lifestyle and the self-reliance. Besides, as long as it isn't deathly poisonous, there is no worry.

I'm afraid of dogs. When I was a little girl one dog jumped over me and I fall down. The dog wanted to play, but I got so terrified, that I keep this phobia all my life. I'm ashamed of it, I try to hide it and many times I succeed, but my heart is "turning" every time a dog comes near me. I also hate to sleep in a room with mirrors. I also believe in this: It was many years ago, I slept in a hotel and there was a mirror against the bed. Very early in the morning I suddenly woke up and I saw in the mirror a road and hills. I didn't know how, but I knew this was the road to the outer world. Years had passed from this event and I watched the film Kukushka (The Cuckoo). In one of the scenes there was given the road to the outer world and this was very near to what I saw in the mirror. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvNFukFcsMk&feature=PlayList&p=4CED9E10685C58FC&index=8I like spiders, I don't allow to be killed and when I'm cleaning the spider webs I keep not to absorb the insect with the vacuum-cleaner.

Same thing. Maybe I have to catch a spider? We have so much mosquitoes here, and they piss me off... And ants... Once we went to a forest with my friends, and goddamn, there were a huge lot of anthills, so you couldn't step anywhere because of ants. They try to crawl up and bite you in a leg

I understand spiders are very beneficial for the environment and okay, some can be quite beautiful. But..... maybe because they creep up so silently and you don't realize they are there until they drop down right in front of you!!! Where I lived when I was little the houses were close together and spiders would make their webs between them. But you could never notice until you walked face first into one! Maybe that is where my fear originated? My younger brother's solution to the spiders in our house was to let his geckos and anoles run free in his room! As for munching on evil mosquitos? Well that is what beautiful dragonflies are for!! Sorry Nordis! They are the one bug I've always loved!
I used to be afraid of heights, but then I realized it wasn't that but rather a fear of falling. So I can be on the highest point and as long as I feel secure, I have no qualms of leaning out over the edge. But standing on a wobbly chair makes me very nervous. I also used to have a problem with social gatherings. Parties or anything that would require me to interact with people I may not know. Used to cause quite a panic.

I'm afraid of heights (but I'm not afraid of flying on a plane). I'm afraid of insects that bite=)
Social gatherings? Sometimes I have this fear too, but usually there are only a few people that I don't know. But I'm afraid of gatherings where I know only a few people...

Ok, spiders can scare one when they silently crawl and..ok I don't wish to reactivate anyone's phobia ;D but dragonflies are indeed such splendid creatures! I even painted a big one on my lamp so no worries, that one won't go on anyone's hair ;D Heights give me a sort of short dizzyness, but I get over it. wolferin& Croc: I never thought of any other world behind mirrors..all I can think is that behind that glass is layer of silver nitrate,if my chemistry is ok.. But reading your posts I remembered that when kid big long curtains in a dark room didn't seem very friendly to me..
