I guess that im the first , i will show you two bands that i like : .Hermetica : this one was the most famous in his time on stage, this guys used to play pure heavy metal ^^, i hope that you enjoy it V8 : This one is the very first band that did metal in argentina. if anyone needs, I can mention tons of various metal from Russia / Ukraine / Belarus, but you'll have to start a new thread then, heh, that'll be really TONS... though I didn't see anyone who listens to, for example, basement black metal or any else sick shit (I'm best in that).

Croc: PLEASE start that thread. You are not the only one here who loves "basement black metal" - besides it's going to be winter in a few months, and that is for me when such music reigns supreme. Besides, I'm running low on new bands to listen to and haven't had the time to search aimlessly on the internet for good new bands. And it's been quite sometime that I've heard anything "new" from Russia. Here there aren't many wonderful local bands. Most people play types of metal that I don 't care about or that aren't well-written enough to enjoy, and most of these bands think they are "top shit" in the "scene". Having said that though there are some gems, even if they aren't in styles that I particularly like at least it is clear that the musicianship and composition is good.

OK, I'll start that... maybe I'll start with the folk-heathen-viking and so on scene, but maybe it won't be so soon... but I'll try that, dammit, I promise.

www.myspace.com/cravingoldenburgThis is the band of one of my friends. Craving. I really like the stuff they already did, and really look forward to their new studio album, which will be released in 2011, i think. If you like Ensiferum or wintersun, give it a try.

OK, my turn now. It is not exactly a local band, but it's from this area and has lots of fans already, as deserved I'd add. Even from their name tis understood they are Iron Maiden influenced, and their style goes straight to the clean honest heavy metal path. Ladies and gentleman, this is Trooper. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZgRc0AM4LM The link leads to other songs too, so I hope some of you enjoy this.

My turn now? I've showed some bands from Petersburg in other threads, but surely I can do it again, for the newbies. Maybe I'll start with viking metal. We in Russia have only a few viking metal bands , but the most well-known is Nomans Land, they are well-known to everyone who digs the heathen/viking metal underground, and they even did some shows in Europe. I don't like them much, but their music is qualitative, and maybe you'll like it. Here's their myspace:

Our music scene is not as it once was. Metal and hard rock used to thrive, now unless you trek into the city there's not much to see. Many of our clubs have been taken down and made into "active adult communities." But here is some hope! I know I've posted before, but it's near and dear to my ears and heart!

Vrani Volosa - it is not an underground band, but one of the successful folk-metal Bulgarian bands in the last years; location - Burgas. In old-slavic "Vrani Volosa" means "Ravens of Veles". Another translation is "Black Hair", again from old Slavic. In some places they are labeled as pagan black metal, but I think this is just to be written something. The themes of their lyrics are much more spiritual, esoteric, about state of mind and inner world of men, then pagan. They sing in English and Bulgarian. About the style is again arguable. In the first albums (Vedi - 2004 (EP) and Where The Heart Burns - 2005 (full-length)) they had vocal with harsh singing and combination of black metal with folk elements, but in the last album (Heresy - 2010 (full-length)) they changed the vocal with clean, the style became more epic and melodic, including elements of different styles. Heresy had become very successful album and won new fens to the group. They were support to Arkona in Sofia on June 24th 2010, but made a long gig and performed many of their songs, making the public very delighted. In this clip the head of battlemage can be seen somewhere. ;D www.myspace.com/vranivolosa

Okey few of you have allready had the privilege to listen this band/project from friend of mine. Posted something of this song on Apr 2. But now I have the permit to link the song for all of you guys The song is called The Death of DuckburgIts a small project of my friend and her friends, atm there is only 1 song done, but I guess they are going to make more, you guys can tell here what to do you think if they should continue or not Tiina asked translations for the lyrics since they are in Finnish, so I promised to do that, but since the forums rules might prevent me posting faul language to here in english (and in Finnish too) I decided to give you the lyrics on PM if you like, so just ask and I'll send both of them to you So here is the song: soundcloud.com/mansikki/ankkalinnan-kuolemaTell me what do you think E: Btw, the music "genre" here is Donald Duck Black Metal... it should give you more hints than you need ;D

Yes , Maris, they have recognition here , and for the good reasons. At the moment I''m glad their guitarist got better after some serious medical problems... That's life.. Arimo, glad you posted it, and I will add here too that I've liked your friend's project a lot and hopefully they'll continue with it. I totally loved the vocals and the arrangement..they've got tango dammit, I'm all for it. ;D Not to add the hilarious manifesto in their lyrics, haha..
