The question is simple - to what concerts were you in 2010? Where? Favorites? I'm starting(P.S. Thanks Nordis, modified): 21.02.2010 - GAMMA RAY, FREEDOM CALL, SECRET SPHERE Very good concert in a sold out Blue Box club, very near contact with bands, Gamma Ray were in good mood like every time. 01.04.2010 - Thrash Attack Fest - EXUMER, SAVAGE GRACE, OMEGA Old school trash/speed bands - sounds great. А little club, no fences. Club was in two stages - lower infront of stage(the pit zone) and higher back. Bands were great, audience too. Some stage diving of band members, and some audience at the stage in the end 14.05.2010 - AC/DC I was in Beograd, Serbia last year(same tour) and now I only want to be near to Angus solo at the center of the stage while performing Let there be rock. Very good show at full stadium(55-60 000), nice effects, and really crazy Angus. 22.06.2010 - Sonisphere Fest - METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX The Big Four on one stage - can you believe it? This was historical concert, sun, hail, rain, rainbow and then all bands on stage performing Am I evil? 23.06.2010 - Sonisphere Fest - RAMMSTEIN, MANOWAR, ALICE IN CHAINS, STONE SOUR Day second - not so favorite as day one but Rammstein show worth, still feel the heat from flames. 23.07.2010 - Kavarna Rock Fest - LEAVE'S EYES, EPICA, DORO, TARJA Kavarna again! My forth time in Kavarna Fest and I like it very much, there is a festival spirit that can't be compared with Sofia gigs. I have a car problems and I was in Kavarna when Leave's Eyes played. I get in and get a beer, tired from driving and problems. This first lady's night I was just relaxing 24.07.2010 - Kavarna Rock Fest - KORPIKLAANI, DESTRUCTION, SODOM, KREATOR First time KK gig here oh yeah! Me and my friends knew that there would be a signing session. And after a waiting came a bus with KK, smiling from inside. It was nice to have a contact, some signing, jokes and pictures So after that we go for some beers to wait the gig and few hours later - We are Korpiklaaani from Finland... Very nice, only 45-50 minutes, but awesome gig. I went for beer and sat on the grass, waiting thrash bands. Where were some people around that still dancing and jumping even when Thrash bands played, so I joined too. After a while I look at the sound tower and saw Jarkko and Cane there. I asked for a pic and left them to enjoy the show. Near that time much of the audience infront was moshing. Great night! 25.07.2010 - Kavarna Rock Fest - VOIVOD, PRIMAL FEAR, ANNIHILATOR, ACCEPT Last day of the fest is always good time, people are in good mood all around, get to the beach and back and again was time for gig. First band of the night Voivod were great infront of not so much audience, but really enjoyed and gave a good start of the night. Primal Fear and Annihilator continued this line. The headliners Accept with new frontman showed that they have more to give and I think that was great move to reunite. Great 3 days in Kavarna! 13.10.2010 - ELUVEITIE, KORPIKLAANI Just few months after first KK gig in Bulgaria another show, this time co-headlining with Eluveitie, also great band. Two days before concert was moved from Blue Box club to much bigger Hristo Botev hall and there was enough space for moshing/dancing. The bad thing is that this is sports hall, not much concert sound friendly. Eluveitie was the first band of the night and soon after they took to the stage a mosh pit started. The sound was good, performance of the band too. Then we have to wait for Korpiklaani, time for beers. And soon the lights was turned off and Vodka rocks the hall The bad thing was that sound was not so good and sometimes I could't hear Jonne's vocals. Everything else was great, the time was running fast. Band says goodbye and left the stage, but we want more and continued to call them. At the end I saw Juho came back on stage and turn again accordion and KK played two more songs for goodbye. In his blog Jarkko wrote that he and Cane were undressed when manager came and get them back to stage P.S. Bad light for pictures. 27.10.2010 - W.A.S.P. I missed previous W.A.S.P. gigs here, so finally I was there. Was good, but not too much. Band seem to me tired, not in good mood and setlist was only 12 songs. People doubted that there is playback on some songs. All were in Bulgaria last year, favorite - Kavarna Rock Fest

From the forum rules: So please, tell a bit more about those gigs. Which was the best, was there something else to remember than just the date and line-up? This applies to all the new replies as well

From the forum rules: .... This applies to all the new replies as well that's why there are no replies at all Ok, it is hard to remember the dates and that's why maybe there will be no replies. I think I’ve joined more than 20-25 concerts last year, but there are maybe 4-5 which I will remember for a lifetime. 27 feb 2010 - Sofia, blue box: hypocrisy. Peter came to make a DVD in Bulgaria, after having a concert here in 2009 for a first time with Pain. That was a killer of a concert, and as I’ve heard the DVD is about to be released, so go for it! i was impressed not only from the band, but specially by the drummer. If I do not have chance to see immortal, it is good I was able to see him Talking about drummers - last year was my first time seeing hellhammer live - Sofia, venom concert, don’t remember when, some day in November I think. Hi’s really a HELLhammer Second concert to remember: 5 or 6 mart, Nl, Tilburg, Paganfest. Finntroll, for a first time!!! Another dream came true for me. I LOVE their last album, so I decided to travel and see them there, cause I don't believe they’ll come to Bg soon. Especially after Moonsorrow concert in Sofia was canceled last year because of the lack of interest... Finntroll is must see band for me. so, i saw them and they were fckn good! Third concert – ac/dc, Sofia, ... may. I've been listening to this band for at least 30 years, and I remember that my first vinyl coming from "West" in the years of communism was Back in Black. It may sound as a fckn joke, but 2 or 3 years later (somewhere in 1982-3) I exchanged that LP for .... 3 buttons of ACDC and 5 Leva (about 2$ in that time), for i had no gramophone.... And buttons where too expensive and hard to find in Bulgaria those days... Now, when this is their best selling album ever I wanna eat myself, but... So, that was my first ac/dc concert and I understood why so many people were telling me "their concerts are like nothing else one knows". Killing sound, 55-60 000 people on Levski stadium, and I found myself singing "The Jack..." along with them, even though I thought I HATE this song after all these years of listening to it #4 - Korpiklaani, Kavarna, july. In 2009, October, I traveled to Eindhoven just to see them on paganfest tour 2009, and even was able to see Matson and Jarko there and tell them: "come to Bulgaria, guys, we love ya!". But i didn’t believe this dream will come true in only 8 months! And even though in Kavarna they were opening band for ... "the night of the German holly trinity of trash" (sod., destr., creat.) and they had only 45 min to play I travelled all those 600 km. just to see them on their first show in Bulgaria. And it was about 35-38 C that day, but we stayed there in the front of stage for an hour before the show. And the show was amazing!!! And I was wet as hell. And happy as hell #5 - Apocaliptica - Nl, Tilburg, October 25?, 013 - a friend of mine who's great fan of Apo asked me to go with him. I DO NOT regret any single cent paid for that concert cause this guys are the craziest bastards playing heavy metal I have ever know. And that was my 3-th “apocalyptical” show and will not be the last I’m sure. I adore the way they play "Hall of the mountain king". And "Masta, Masta, Masta..." #6 - Korpiklaani - Sofia, Bulgaria, november. FinallyI was able to see them playing a NORMAL set! What a fckn mosh, what a pogo A night to remember. I didn’t believe till that night there are so many fans of Korpiklaani in Bg. And what impressed me much: most of them under 20! Hell of a night. And, guys, we remember very well what you promised: "Bulgaria EVERY year!" #7 - The Big 4 - sofia, june. It was my first time to see Slayer live. That was their 3 coming to Bg, and I had tickets for everyone of the previous shows but there were some bad incidents which impeded to see them. And even though I am not superstitious I start thinking there’s some spell on me not to see them So, spell’s broken, Slayer rullzzzz! For me 'World painted blood' is one of their best albums, and after that show I am sure they are the kings of trash. Fck Metallica! And, finally, what about something different: the most disappointing show of 2010? For me: Moonsorrow, Sofia BG, April (?) 2010, which was canceled because of the lack of interest.... Have no words to say what a disappointment that was for me. I love that band, for me there are lots of good heavy metal bands nowadays but yet very few really good HM composers. Sorvali is one of them. And Kivenkantaja or Kilan Paassa are HM hymns for me, equal and maybe better than "Master..." for example. So, roll on 13/03/2011, Amsterdam, Nl, where I will be able to make another dream come true And see Korpiklaani also, one more time.

Certainly don't remember all the concerts I've been to last year and don't keep track of them so I'll just think of those that stuck out for one reason or another.
My favourite concert in 2010 was definitely Blackmore's Night in Duisburg (26.9.). My first Blackmore's Night gig and reason why I went to Germany at that time and it was totally worth it. The show had a great atmosphere, included jokes that were actually funny and I was just really happy with it all. The only thing I didn't like that much was the venue, a castle would have been way cooler, but since it was already autumn it had to be somewhere inside of course. Maybe next time.
Then I have to mention the Eluveitie/Korpiklaani gig in Barcelona (21.10.), which I found special simply because it gave me goosebumps how the crowd was singing along. No matter how exhausted I was before, at that point I just remembered again why I travel thousands of kilometres for those things. Madrid was just as great but of course then I had seen already how audiences can be in Spain. Also was impressed by Eluveitie's shows, had seen them once before but then the sound was so bad that I couldn't enjoy the gig, but on those concerts they were really fun.
From 6.-8. August there was Viru Folk in Käsmu/Estonia, which was a wonderful folk music festival in a quaint Estonian village. I can't really pick any particular concerts, I just liked the festival in general, I went hiking in the national park where it was located, ate pancakes, went swimming a couple of times, spent lot of time on the swings close to the main stage and enjoying the atmosphere of it all. The only downside of it was the thunderstorm on the last evening, really wasn't fun with still having to camp there another night.
In March (12.3.) I went to see the Paganfest in Bochum, actually was a bit disappointed of most bands that played there but Arkona were really good imo, even if they were the first or second band to play and had only half an hour.
Eläkeläiset were playing lots of summer festival in Finland last year but strangely enough I managed to see them only once, at Qstock, but that gig was hell of a lot of fun. Just before they started it had poured down, the festival area was just one huge puddle of mud and what's still missing in all that is certainly some humppa. I was there with two of my best friends and we had a total blast.

As a co-incidence 2010 and 2011 concert years begins with Stratovarius - on 23.01. I'm going on their gig with Helloween and Avatar. So the first concert of 2010 was this: 24.01.2010 - Tracedawn/ Winter’s Verge/ Stratovarius - Sofia I was happy to hear for the first time in a life gig Timo Kotipelto, though as far as I remember the sound was not brilliant. This year I hope the sound to be better, because there's an improvement in making concerts in this hall (Hristo Botev). 21.02.2010 - Gamma Ray /Freedom Call / Secret Sphere - Sofia It was a very good concert with good sound. The bad think was, that if you want to seat in the hall, where the concert was held, you must go to the balcony, which is a little away from the stage. After 6-7 months there fell a wall and this was the end of this concert place for unknown time. 24.06.2010 - Arkona/Vrani Volosa/Kayno Yesno Slonce - Sofia It was a little and very emotional concert in a nasty hall, but there was a great pagan spirit and everybody danced and did headbanging at will. 23.07.2010 - Kavarna Rock Fest - Leave's Eyes/ Epica/ Doro/ Tarja/ Atrocity - Kavarna /24.07.2010 - Kavarna Rock Fest - Korpiklaani/ Destruction/ Sodom/ Kreator/ Autumn Sun - Kavarna 25.07.2010 - Kavarna Rock Fest - Voivod/ Primal Fear/ Annihilator/ Accept - Kavarna This Fest I'll remember for my whole life - I met there Kuusuru and Tiina and we have unforgettable moments together, which I pray to repeat some time somewhere. And our first life gig of Korpiklaani under the merciless July sun at about 35C. It was only 45 minutes and passed as 4,5, but there was some supernatural emotion and something in the air that inspired us to insist for meeting with the guys from the band. Thank you again for the spirit of vitality you brought! 13.10.2010 - Eluveitie/Korpiklaani/Godnr.Universe - Sofia The first full time gig of Korpiklaani. I was seating while Eluveitie performed, but with the first Korpiklaani tunes, my legs carried me closer and closer to the stage. Finally I was singing and dancing, forgetting everything around. 25.10.2010 - Scorpions - Sofia This concert was a disappointment - Scorpions were performing like without a wish - may be they were tired, may be because of the illness of Klaus Meine, for which the concert was delayed, but the gig was not as expected. Also the stadium was muddy, the weather was rainy and all these factors spoiled the mood of the people. 16.11.2010 - Sabaton/Alestorm / Steelwing - Sofia The final gorgeous gig for 2010 - indescribable! The hall stood as one, singing an shouting. In the pauses the people were starting melodies of Sabaton's songs, at the end of the concert many went out singing. In the air was something like a spell of emotions. On the next day I could hardly talk.

wolferin and stan - we have some shared gigs I remember the heat in Kavarna too, the sun was shining at KK at stage and they were reddish at the end. I wasn't on Scorpions gig because I don't like the place and I knew that audience will be there only to see Scorpions for the last time(I was 2009 in Kavarna - much better gig). About Sabaton - I was wondering, but last time when Rage were after Sabaton it was just like a lesson to a children

About Scorpions I can say, that the gig in 1993 was may be the best (without seeing 2009). In 1993 they were much younger and it was on Vasil Levski stadium, in front of 25 000 people or more. They sung all their best songs till that moment, at about 20 songs. About Sabaton and Rage you are right, nothing bad to have different generations of rock musicians on stage. But after the vivid performance of Sabaton, I found Rage boring and left in the middle of the gig. May be because I'm not great fan of this heavy-speed sound, or may be the time for the sound of 2 guitars and a drum had passed, people are used to richer sound nowadays. If there are fans of Rage and may get insulted, I don't want to say Rage are bad group - objectively they are group with excellent technique and long history, but from the concerts I expect much show and emotions.

wolferin and stan - we have some shared gigs ...... About Sabaton - I was wondering, but last time when Rage were after Sabaton it was just like a lesson to a children damn' right, man, damn' right. I didn't wanna say this because of Wolferiin. She's great fan of Sabaton. BUT: that was not my first Rage gig, it was my first time hearing Rage ever. and i was fckn shocked! what a brilliant musicians they are! and I even told to myself /wolferiin, sorry for what i am going to say, I know you love Tarja / " now I know why Terrana left that band and went to Tarja: Rage is a hard working machine!!!" @wolferiin : " or may be the time for the sound of 2 guitars and a drum had passed, people are used to richer sound nowadays" Do you really think so??? Go and tell that to Lemmy Rage are brilliant players, every one of them. Smolski made me crazy that night, he sounds like mixture of Halen&Malmsteen and still has his own sound and stile... I love him. Wolferin, comparing to Rage sabaton sucks Guys, why don't we get together this sunday and have a beer at Hr. Botev hall? They were not the only ones . Earlier that day Wolferin's family took us to Varna for sightseeing, and we nearly melted, but it was well worth it It was so hell hot, we couldn't see much from Varna. But may be the next time we meet. we'll have much time for a walk. @wolferiin : " or may be the time for the sound of 2 guitars and a drum had passed, people are used to richer sound nowadays" Do you really think so??? Go and tell that to Lemmy Rage are brilliant players, every one of them. Smolski made me crazy that night, he sounds like mixture of Halen&Malmsteen and still has his own sound and stile... I love him. Wolferin, comparing to Rage sabaton sucks Guys, why don't we get together this sunday and have a beer at Hr. Botev hall? I like Lemmy less than Rage, practically don't like him at all. I'm not comparing the bands, I compare my emotions. I cannot made myself like someone by force, feel delight by force, just because someone has good technique. I wrote Rage are good musicians, I know them, they are not a new band, but I'm not buying a machine, I'm searching for something to sound me pleasant. They don't. This about the two guitars and a drum were only hypothesis - I was just wondering about the reason. Why every thought out of cannon, that this bands are great and s.o. is accepted so bad? Everybody has right of an opinion. According to me, comparing bands is meaningless, it is a very subjective matter. I very rarely talk and write about this questions, because many people hardly accept different opinion, but for likes and dislikes I listen to my heart and my inner sense. PS: About the beer - I'll be there and you have PM.
