Well I noticed that most of korpiklaani guitar tabs on the internet is tabbed in droppedD for guitar which I think is wrong because they play in E, that I'm sure of.

hy. i am a bass and guitar player and i am interested witch tunings and chords the are used mostly in theyre songs. Terve! The first two albums were done in standard tuning. Since then the guitars have been tuned down a full step i.e. to D. Bass has always been on standard tuning until very recently. Artsi was playing a 4-stringer on the first two albums and I've been using a stardard tuned (BEADG) 5-string bass live and on all the albums up until Karkelo. Karkelo and Ukon Wacka were recorded with a 5-string bass tuned down a full step to ADGCF. Live I was still playing a standard tuned 5-stringer until this year. Now I am playing a down tuned bass live as well. HTH j.

And for the other people: which iron maiden songs YOU play on the bass? TNX Terve! When I started to play 20+ years ago I basically had two idols: Geezer Butler and Steve Harris. In that order. I was a big fan of both Sabbath and Maiden so it was kinda natural. Later on came so many other bass players that I learned to admire for various reasons. Players like Geddy Lee or Pekka Pohjola or Donald "Duck" Dunn. I don't think I ever learned one Maiden song. Like entirely learn. I am pretty sure that I'd be able to play through several of them though. The early stuff is pretty simple and I basically remember the first 6-7 albums by heart anyway. I was a fan you see and those days you actually had time to listen and concentrate on what you were listening to... j.

which leads me to another question: which strings do you use mr. Aaltonem? And do you know the basic things about music theory? And yes i know that only practice matters... Terve! On tours I use the cheapest possible strings ie. Warwick Red Label. I change strings after every 5 shows. They lose the high frequencies so quickly because of all the sweat and flying beer that it makes no sense to use any better strings there. Otherwise I use Rotosound Swingbass RS665LD (45-65-80-105-130). Yes, Mr. Rotosound, an endorsement deal would be nice. I know exactly the basics, not much more. I read music. Badly. j.

well...questions just burble out of me... 1. When i read your previous post i started thinking...what is the reason that you tune your bas to "A" ? Why not just keep it in standard? 2. Why don't you guys play songs like rise, korven kuningas, mother earth(...) live? 3. When i was at the gig at volxhaus(15.october.2010) i saw that you gave a killer view to a guy who shouted all the time "beer beer". When you are playing, do these things disturb you? I know breasts dont disturb you

1. When i read your previous post i started thinking...what is the reason that you tune your bas to "A" ? Why not just keep it in standard? Because the last two albums have been recorded like that and some bass lines are too difficult to play in the standard tuning. Or not really too difficult, but with the standard tuned bass they would be in uncomfortable positions. And some songs even use the low-A so that is sort of required if you want to play them as recorded. Just pick up a standard tuned guitar and try to play anything Black Sabbath has recorded after 1980. They've been constantly in Eb tuning since then and you'll definitely realize what I mean with uncomfortable. At home I have several basses, 4 and 5 stringers. Currently I have those tuned and set up in standard, Eb and D tunings. Depending on what I will use them for. THAT is comfortable. Because we don't want to. Why doesn't Motörhead ever play "Turn You Round Again"? You're wrong. The shouts don't disturb but boobs do. Ladies, want to make me make a mistake on stage? Just show me your boobs. On a serious note, boobs are really way more distracting than any shouts. Persons shouting for "Beer Beer" are probably the same guys that are shouting "Paranoid" at Sabbath shows. j.

Ok, I had to dig up the CD and learn that. The guitar is in standard tuning. If you are talking about just the outro, I think it goes like this: E----------0-----------------0---------------0----------0-------0-------0--- B--------0---0------------0---0-----------0---0----------0-------0--------- G------5-------5--------5-------5-------5-------5-------------------------- D----7-----------7----7-----------7---7-----------7------------------------ A--0---------------0----------------8----------------7-------5-------3------ E-------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my first ever attempt to tab anything. Hope it works. Now when do I get my truck full of Merlot? j.
