Sounds good. It is more for family names, right? I wanted to know more about my first name. I am a historian and I am kinda touchy about things ;-). I thought a university would do the kind of research I appreciate and consider professional. I myself don't really have time to do the research.

ah no no. :] they test your DNA and compare it with several markers from other people. a rough example: imagine that you had something in your DNA which is characteristic of Sami's (well or maybe in your case the Gods or something people DNA. the guys from the project have been collecting thousands of DNA samples from people around the globe and are building a database. its genealogic tree of your DNA, instead of names. :] to understand it better its best to read the FAQ in their website. ]

My whole name is Amarilla Németh. Amarilla has a greek-latin origin, and it means shiny. Németh means German, but I don't have german origin, so it's a bit difficult... In the spanish football Tarjeta Amarilla means the yellow card

My full name is Didier Röhe Salomon da Rosa Rodrigues
- Didier comes from French and means "wished" - Röhe it's a German name, but I don't know what it means. I'm not sure, but I think the original name is Rohe - Salomon it's the name of the most powerful Hebrew monarchs in the Bible. It means "pacific", "calm" and shows a extremely wise person and is not seduced by power or richness. From the Hebrew "prosperity" - da Rosa roughly means "of the Rose" - Rodrigues, comes from German 'Rodrigo' and means "famous by his/her glory"

My name is Floris, my parents came up with it during a tv show, called 'Floris', it's a dutch show about a guy in the middle ages trying to defend his land from an evil count I'm not sure where my name comes from, some say it's german.... Even though lots of people like it (especially non-dutch people, I guess because it's easy to pronounce in lots of languages) I really hate it....even tried to change it by introducing myself as Aedan, but my friends refused to call me that So it never worked I have no middle name and thank my parents that they haven't named me after my grandparents or themselves..... My last name is Roetert...somehow noone seems to have it right the first time....every time I'm noted as Floris Roeters, Roeter or god knows what... Some research showed that Roetert's probably derived from Röder....so German or Austrian or something.....but that was a looooong time ago

By the way, could anybody tell me where the name Urla comes from? I know it's German, but what that means??? I only found a name called "Urli" and that comes from Ulrich..... Ulrich comes from the old-german name Uodalrich. "ôd(al)"=genotype and "rich" = mightful, monarch you can translate the name as " Monarch about the entail" But when you say "Urla" like "Ulla" that comes from the name Ursula.....means small bear and comes from the latin language! Versions of the name: german: Ulla, Ursel, Ursi, Uschi, Urselchen, Urseken italian: Orsola polish: Urszula, Ula hungarian: Orsolya, Orsi maybe that helps you with your search about this name!^^
