Let me introduce you totally renewed website of my ethnic metal - playing band - Poropetra (Hittavainen and Kuuraparta are also involved in this). The website is in Finnish and in English. You can find there lyrics our both old Poropetra -MCD and our new forthcoming album Sinihirwi - with translations. Now there's more information (our history, info about our lyrics etc.) than ever before. So introduce yourself with it! Poropetra's musical base is in traditional Finno-Ugric music cultures, in Tuvinian throat-singing, in ethnic music altogether and in metal music. Lyrics are written in Finnish and they are straight continuum to an old Finnish-Karelian folk poetry. They are about earthly and unearthly things looked beyond an eye of a Finnish culture and folklore. We're about to renew our ancient language and metre, and combine it with our very old tradition. Our previous -MCD Poropetra is now sold out. We're finishing our forthcoming full length CD Sinihirwi, which will be out during the year 2007. There will be few brand new MP3 - samples of the new songs as we get our job done. I'll inform you then. And notice: we have a forum too (both Finnish and English). You are all welcome to enjoy there. I'll give you a straight link in it too: www.havusto.org/u/zorro/lauta-Virva Holtiton a.k.a Juha Jyrkäs, kantele player, throat-singer EDIT: 02.01.'07 major update.

Good songs ! Sounds distantly familiar as Finnish folk music always for some reason. Salon sahti grew nicely. What language was on the Saaren piiga? Uganda? I didn`t understand a word.

The previous Saare piiga was a temporary mixdown with no vocals. The demos are to be printed in few weeks. What language was on the Saaren piiga? Uganda? Not so bad, Estonia is a southern country too after all. ;D

Is it finnish folk? What are your influence ? My influences are - of course - traditional Finnish, Karelian, Ingrian and Estonian folk music mixed with throat singing, yoik and metal. The goal is to preserve old tradition and same time renew it. My music style would be considered as ethnic metal.

Next album, "Sinihirwi", is already under the way.. Groovy Btw, if you ever need more visual homepages or so, contact me I'd do them for semi-free, just to get some experience and maybe very few jewros of beer money This goes for every other worthy band out there as well. And yes, I am drunk but serious.
