I've just read the new album will be released on 3rd August 2012 and the name is changed to "Manala" - called also Mana or Tuonela, the land of the dead. Also there be a version with the songs in Finnish and one with the songs in English. I expect something great and unusual. ------------- From FB:

I just now read it, too. It´s a great idea with the two versions, also I like the whole concept of the story behind, it´s very interesting. This will be great, I´m sure! Looking already forward to August now!

The cover: I can really say that this is my favorite cover art; Completely different yet still written Korpiklaani all over it. A double album sounds great, but looking forward to the Finnish cd slightly more ;D.Can't help that but find that Jonne can lay more feeling/emotions into the songs when singing in Finnish. And think this will be even more the case because the entire album concept is so deep rooted in Finnish mythology. Nevertheless I am curious how it will translate into English. Guess we'll find out in August

That looks really great! A bit different from the others before, but I like it.
In gereral I also like Jonne singing in Finnish more than in English, but that might depend on the song itself. But nevertheless the English ones are great, too, and I can just repeat myself once again when saying I´m really looking forward to August! ;D

From the website: More about “Manala“ track list & cover artwork! Finnish traditional folk metal pioneers KORPIKLAANI issue further details on their upcoming 8th studio album “Manala” that will be released via Nuclear Blast on the 3rd of August. The cover artwork was created by Finnish artist Jan Yrlund (www.darkgrove.net) – KORPIKLAANI vocalist Jonne Järvelä states: “On the album cover, our band mascot Vaari represents Väinämöinen, who is one of the main characters in the Finnish national epic Kalevala. As most of the lyrics on “Manala” are based on the Kalevala, Jan Yrlund decided to draw his inspiration for the cover artwork from the beautiful but yet brutal depiction of the underworld in Finnish mythology.” The limited Digipak edition of “Manala” will come to you with a bonus CD, including the whole album with English lyrics. Marked the date, my calendar is happy! Artwork indicates pretty much the symbolism of the epic , so..cannot wait I see lyrics too.

Nuclear Blast has released a lyric video to both the Finnish and English version of the song Kunnia on youtube. And you can immediately hear it's a whole different atmosphere then Karkelo or Ukon Wacka. Love it ♥♥♥ Can't wait to hear the entire album Turns out you can already pre-order the album on NB webshop
Finnish
English
Is it just me, but I get the feeling the english version is slightly faster, It's almost not noticeable but still get that feeling; Or is it just because of the language difference?

Thanks for posting this, Maris, that makes my day! What can I say... I´m TOTALLY in love with this, sends shivers down my spine!!!!!!!!!! Hm, the English version sounds little bit different, due to the English lyrics, I think. I prefer the Finnish, but the idea with the English version is great and very appreciated. I CAN`T wait for the entire album, too, and also to see the guys in concert in October. Argh, and it is only June now!!!! ;D

Great song! The both versions age good. It's just shooting the album higher with the songs in two languages. This step was totally successful for the new Sabaton album and will work here as well. I can't wait for the album!

To those who are not on fb and therefore cannot cheat their way through this one ;D(already pointed it out on it so those who read it don't say what's the problem ) Who here is paying enough attention to notice what's wrong with this video First one to guess it wins a prize In the Finnish lyric video I read: Ei kunniatta manalle mennä, but I hear and I appologize to those who actually know how to write Finnish; I had to do it by hearing only. Ei manalle kunnia taimenta last word was difficult for me to hear properly in order for me to write. Thought at first it was tammenta; Google + translate didn't understand that word, but google had somehow directed me to the word taimenta is sounding more Finnish to me so for now going along with that word but I don't think trouts have anything to do with this song. So very please correct me where I'm wrong with this one

Okey, where to start There are few mistakes in the lyrics in that vid. Atleast after few listening times. I've have CAPS LOCKED the right/correct words in my lyrics: Turha miehen on manalle yksin mennä iltasella Ei miehen pidä pelätä elämää elon lopussa Turha miehen on manalle omaa aikaansa paeta Ei miehen pidä omaansa OTTAA, kuolla kunniatta Turha miehen tuonelassa surra kunniattomuutta EI SELLAISEN miehen aika kunniaksi koskaan muutu Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Ei MANALLE KUNNIATTA mennä Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Elolle, maalle, taistolle Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Ei MANALLE KUNNIATTA mennä Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Elolle, maalle, taistolle On kunniakasta sotilaan suurta asetta sivellä Myös kunnia on hänelle taistosta manalle mennä Suuri on sydän sotilaan joka kuolee maansa vuoksi Sotamiehellä myös on suuri kunnia omasta maasta Ei miehen pidä manalle kunniatta koskaan mennä Sotamiehen kunniana on maansa, elonsa tieto VAAN mikä on miehen tieto joka itse manalle mennyt Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Ei MANALLE KUNNIATTA mennä Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Elolle, maalle, taistolle Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Ei MANALLE KUNNIATTA mennä Kunnia Kunnia Kunnia Elolle, maalle, taistolle
