Ajattara - kansallispäivä This song is from a special christmas bonus cd. I like Ajattara for many years now. Their music is dark and heavy. I got to know them at the same time as Old man's Child (Norway) which i also like). www.myspace.com/ajattara

Voodoo Six - "I Am The Sun" (acoustic version)
This is the bonus track on the Japanese release of the Voodoo Six album 'Feed My Soul', which I got in yesterday. I think I prefer the album version.

Domine - The Aquilonia Suite
The theme from Conan The Barbarian put into power metal. Unlikely I thought, this works pretty well but would be maybe even better without the lyrics. NEVER write lyrics when covering an instrumental song.

Marillion - 'Beautiful' I was thinking of someone who is very special to me. Someone who not only looks gorgeous, but is also Beautiful on the inside

Wolfchant - Blood For Blood.
Epic Pagan Metal á la Mithotyn. I'm soooo happy I'm going to the Ragnarök festival in Germany at the end of this month. My desire to see this band live is getting bigger and bigger. Anyone else from this forum who is planning to go to Ragnarök?

Red Sparowes - Finally as that blazing sun shone down upon us did we know that true enemy was the voice of blind idolatry; and only then we began to think for ourselves
Slow song, nice atmosphere. Mainly a nice band... quite easy listening, no vocals. And very long titles...

Apoptygma Berzerk - Cambodia
A german band which reminds me very much of the Pet Shop Boys in this song. It's a cover of Kim Wilde's Cambodia. Quite a nice tune in it. The song is about some fighter pilot who has to go to Cambodia and doesn't return.

Battle heart: set sail and conquer An Amazing band from perth (scotland) who has innovated the genre "pirate metal" so I'm giving them a go and I do like their sound Not to be sniffed at. One of their songs that are quite funny is "wenches and mead"

Xystus - Everlasting Burden.
Went to their concert today, together with Lionheart. And now I'm stuck again with their catchy riffs xD could have seen that one coming.

svartsot: Brages Baeger I'm quite liking this band because they sound quite good. The singers voice is death metal but it is tolerable compared to some bands Plus the tin whistles are quite catchy

Böhse Onkelz - Wer nichts wagt, kann nichts verlieren
A very nice, aggressive one. This is particularly why I like Onkelz. They don't make a big thing out of things, they just say what they want to say.
Further, there is for sure always one song which suits your actual state of mind.

Welcome back, teuton! Now listening to: Anna German - Cztery Karty ("Four Cards")This is a polish folk song originally performed by gypsies but now we're able the hear a cover version by a legendary polish singer Anna German (Hörmann). First I have to admit that i cannot speak or understand any polish at all; the only thing i know for sure is the title of the song but it's not even important. What got me interested of this song in the first place was the catchy tune and of course a great voice of the singer. Even her voice is trained, she doesn't sing too "professionally" because it would ruin the whole song! Folk songs need to get their performers improvised otherwise the magic is gone. Folk songs in my opinion are a combination of lyrics and good music but if the beat and the rhythm take over you, you're starting to forget more and more about the lyrics and the music is starting to take over you! Still, i'm curious about the details... Btw, does anyone speak polish in here? If you do, could you please translate the lyrics of this song?
