dont try to hunt a wild pig with a knive Don`t come here... here the wild pigs hunt YOU, with or without knife... you have no chance! ;D (No ... but honestly, we have an over-population of them here... sometimes it`s really frightning, because they don`t escape anymore, seeing humans.... they just stay where they are (for instance in the middle of the forest-way you just wanted to walk) forcing you to make a large way around them... )

hunting is chasing your prey, with your skill and weapons, um, hands (plus maybe a knife)... i've hunted rabbits this way a few times (too many in the fields some years ago)... lotsa running and all... i Whatta heck..how can you catch rabbits like that?? We have rabbits in our neighborhood, and they flee when you come closer than 50m, and then even some Frankie Fredericks can't catch them. You must be a worshipper of Hittavainen, the Karelian god who brings rabbits from the bushes.. ;D

Yeah, I like the idea of hunting for food, so you don't have to rely on industrially farmed meat.....but there are some animals I think I would have trouble killing. Chickens...not a problem. Stupid ugly birds. Deer - don't think I could do it. Rabbits are probably a bit up from chickens.

I could never kill a free-living bird, that`s for sure. I´d rather die of hunger, before I´d eat an eagle. Okay, maybe I´d kill a chicken from the farmers garden... those are no free and proud animals (unfortunately). Also I like those soooo cute rabbits sooo much... but MAYBE before I die of hunger (lost in the forest or whatever) I MAYBE could hunt and kill one of the rabbits. My real father is a hunter by profession... and he took me along for hunting once when I was around 11 years old... shooting deer... I think I´m still today sorry for the animal (although he shot it right into the heart and it was dead immediately without suffering).

well, than you'll hate me, I don't care, I'm not a hippy though. I would not kill an animal if I could avoid it. If it's him or me, oke, I can imagine that I would kill, and I would certainly do so if the people I love are really starving.
I'm am a vegetarian, wasn't always and I loved the taste of meat. Maybe I still would, can't tell. I dislike the way 'humans' treat animals so much, that I stopped eating meat. To put animals in small cages without fresh air, straw, daylight, wind, sun, moon, rain and above all...a little freedom, is disgusting. The only glimpse of the outside world (where animals belong) they get, is when they are transported to get slaughtered in a factorylike butchery. I cannot cope with that.
I agree that hunting seems fairer. Animals can live more natural before they get killed. I live next to a small forest, and there are lots of phaesants, hares and roes in it. Pleasure hunters are shooting those poor animals by group drive techniques. Often those animals are only badly hurt and suffer for days or weeks till they die. I think that we should be aware that this is not right either.
Our world could be a lot more natural (and better), and that counts not only for humans.
* BTW, respect all opinions... and don't judge so easily*

I'm not a vegetarian, and I do love the taste of meat, but I've made a decision to only eat meat that has come from animals raised organically, which means I know that they were not in tiny little cages, and not fed loads of chemicals and hormones and shit like that. I've even seen some of the animals I've eaten, and know that they were happy, and friendly (and liked being scratched behind the ears!).

i like to say to hippes that i like to go hunting , and the hippes almost cry , i fuking hate hippie , liberal = shit , dont understand how can people say that they are aginst hunting Too bad for you... I am actually able to understand why some people are for it and others are against it, it's just a question of analysing both perspectives from a neutral point of view and not be a pig-headed fundamentalist who is not able to see beyond his own values and ideas. I have nothing against hunters, they have their own rights and that does not bother me. However, personally, I totally abhor hunting, even though I come from a family who hunts and fishes for a tradition. I can understand the concept of hunting for your life, for survival and for your sustainance. But "sport hunting" utterly disgusts me... never could I call killing wild and free beasts "sport". Maybe we should reinstate gladiator fights to the death and call it sport? What's so fair about a "competition" between a wild animal who's only will is to survive and a rational human being capable of setting ingenious traps and is armed with a top-quality gun with telescopic scope and whatnot? Besides, just the way some hunters transport their dogs in those criminal little-trailer boxes where they can't even move gives me the will to punch their lights out... Anyway, everyone is entitled to get their kicks out of something, I'm no up-high moralist to be judging peoples passtimes... just expressing my own opinion. However, I am no fucking hippy, I fucking loathe Hippies, though I do have a deep respect for nature that doesn't allow me to engage in such activities as hunting down free animals for pure fun. If my life and sustainance would depend on it, I would most certainly hunt, no doubt there, but to do it for "sport" is beyond me. Tenho dito.
