Well Eisregen do crap atm, but the old albums are pretty good. Try "thüringen" and you will love it If you try "Meine tote russische Freundin", be happy if you don't understand german, some of their lyrics are forbidden heh

Do you mean Gåte is crap? I like their music! Or do you mean Sigur Rós isn't good. I suppose Nordi meant that Sigur Rós is crap. Does anyone know Reel? Russian band. www.cdroots.com/sketis-reel1.html

I once started a list of the bands that I've listened and did like - and also of some that I should listen, as I've heard a lot of good responses. It now has more than 2500 bands and performers... And remember that I've said - you can try to listen to Arkona, but never try to read their lyrics.

I don't know why is he so against Arkona^^ I don't know how good their lyics are but some say they're deep and nice and so on, about Gods etc... I don't mind

That's simple - they're the most PR-ed, but it's a totally commercial project, and their lyrics are all about the same: "1. We've had the good old faith, we've carried it through ages 2. Then the dark ages have came, and the mist have covered our land 3. But now we've found again the faith of the fathers, and we won't have it lost ever!" But the facts are that I'm just pissed of the "neo-heathenism", all those "veles scrolls" and so on, and their auditory are 16 year old children, who go to the gigs for the drinking and think that they're really HEATHEN then. Arkona's a symbol. Matrioshka music.
I know that I should then suggest something here... OK, a few bands from Petersburg:
This is Wolfmare. They've made two albums, the second one was published in the world by CCP records. But unfortunately, they've changed their vocalist, and his vocal style doesn't suit their music. But the two albums were quite great.
And Troll Gnet El, of course. This is actually the soundtrack for drinking, nothing more.
wtf, I had no idea how the youtube tag works here, so enjoy the google ads, hehe

Croc, THANK YOU for sharing Wolfmare... I have never heard them before, and the first 3 seconds of the first song alone are enough to make me love their music. And Troll Gnet El is assuredly a wonderful project, even in times when only good for drinking. Arkona I see in the same way, even though I don't know the Russian lyrics. There are some very good songs, but the more albums they make the more neo-heathen it appears. I just get tired of that whole "christianity is evil, it destroyed the old faith that is the better faith, we are still here and heathenism is growing!" Heathenism is becoming more and more of a trend, and Arkona is the type of music that plays for this trend. I don't know anything about the members, nor their true personal thoughts and beliefs, but I do dislike how popular that neo-heathen trend is getting and how their music is the spokesperson for it.

nightwica: I won't try to convince you of anything, but maybe if you like to listen other kind of electro sounds (tis hard to point many bands with all the subgenres it has)...why not go for some Björk, Royksopp (I used to enjoy some of their songs)..or some of Peter Gabriel songs..or Kate Bush (though here tis just an influence of electro).. I am sure Anwend agrees and support me with Falco and Croc would say ,,let's teach her martial industrial marches!" ;D (not yet, maybe she's not ready for Triarii yet,hahaha).. Anyway the list can continue..meanwhile enjoy Kuusuru's recommendations, they're mighty fine (Mortiis, Mortiis, Mortiis!!!! ). Btw: does any of you oldies remember Devo with ,,Whip it!"? ;D ,,whip it good!!!"hahaha

Here's some electronic music for nightwica. I posted these originally to the "hate" -thread, but I suppose this thread is the right place for them: Voices of Babylon by Alek Szahala. Finnish hard dance with psy influences or something, the genres are pretty messed up anyways. Spiral by Magic And Witchcraft. You can strem the song from that site or download the whole EP for free if you like. Instincts of perversion by Hocico. Something completely different from the previous ones, I think this isn't that far away from Turmion Kätilöt. Deser Planet - minimalistic electro or so. They're also from Finland, but I still haven't seen them live. Ladytron - more mainstream and radio friendly pop stuff. KMFDM, one of my favourite bands. Can someone draw me the lines to separate rock, metal and electro for this one? I have to mention also Infected Mushroom, one of the biggest names in whole electronic music. I've been listening a lot of them lately.

I have one album from KMFDM. Its so f_cking f_ck. Thats all I can say but actually its sometimes really good to listen to it^^ I still have a lot of things to do but I promise I am going to listen to them Thanks for your care for me haha Nordis, are these one of your favourites? Or one of those you listen to? In the first Wolfmare song I couldn't find anything that I get addicted to, but the The Hall Of Mirrors is great!! Especially from about the 3. minute! My mum turned on the stupid tv so i cant watch them now.
