Passions, one of my favorite topics. As odd as this may sound, I would consider passion itself as one of my passions. Our passions move us and make up who we are, it is our driving force and what keeps us together. I admire what people care about, and I respect their dedication, even if I may not hold the same passions or agreement, so long as it keeps them striving for something better is what matters the most.
My passions span many ranges. My most profound ones though are hand-made craftsmanship, music, philosophy, and fellowshipping.
Music, as cliche as that may be for one to have as a passion, is a passion for most everyone with great reason. I have grown a good amount of musical ability over the years and have developed the ability to pick up any instrument and even if I am not prodigy, I can at least write something enjoyable on it. My goal is to acquire as many traditional european instruments as possible and learn how to play them so I can incorporate them in any one of my musical projects. I would also love to find a group of fellow musicians with similar passions and tastes as myself to play music with. I've been an isoalted musician and individual for most of my life, and as much as I Love that it would be nice to have someone to play with.
Elaborating on craftwork: anything hand-made from various periods. Blacksmithing, Casting, Woodburning, Woodcarving/Working, Craftsmanship from the american pioneer days, jewelry making, embroidery, etc. I have delved in Woodburning for the past few years, and a couple years ago got my own forge for blacksmithing, and doing these things are so amazing. The ability to take natural materials, including those as strong as can be, and to shape them to your wills accord is something very powerful. Mixing this in with my music, I also wish to learn instrument making, all done traditionally and with as little modern equipment as possible. Not because I hate technology, but I personally feel more empowered by hardwork and traditional methods.
Travel is another big one, but it is the one I have never been able to do much of. I hope to travel throughout Europe, talk with as many natives as possible, learn as many langauges as possible, and then use the knowledge I've gained to further educate their understanding wherever it is I decide to settle down. Growing up in a city in america I haven't been exposed to much culture, and to me culture is one of the most important things any tribe of any country has, so it is my goal to experience as many cultures as possible, up close and personal.
I have so many more I could go on and on about, but this should be good for now. If any of you share even any of these same passions, feel free to PM me. I'm always glad to make new friends and discuss passions.
