I found this interesting item about what those devious Finns are up to now: " Real Estate 3.0: selling houses that aren't for saleIgglo combines large amounts of real estate information into a customer friendly package that could alter how the housing market operates, by letting potential buyers 'pre-order' houses that aren't yet for sale. The Finnish company has photographed every building in Helsinki, with more towns to follow, and combines these photographs with satellite images and maps. Every property is listed, not just those that are currently on the market. (Their tagline is: "Your house is already on Igglo.") Potential buyers can earmark a building, street or neighbourhood they're interested in, and post offers online. This lets potential sellers find out how desirable their property is, even if they weren't actively considering selling. Buyers also receive an alert when a property in their earmarked building or area comes up for sale. If demand and supply meet, Igglo handles the transaction for a lower fee than is charged by regular real estate agents (less than 2%). Lower fees are made possible by the fact the Igglo agents don't get involved until buyers and sellers have found each other. The company is looking to expand the service to other big cities. Interesting way of turning the real estate market upside down, letting demand nudge supply in the right direction, and moving the market from push to pull. One to watch!" Seems like an interesting idea, but I'd hate to think it became the normal way to express interest in a property. Bidding on eBay is fun, but with the amount of money involved, bidding on property could be an expensive habit! www.igglo.fi

How safe is your password? Thousands of Passwords Leaked on the InternetPublished 14.10.2007, 15.27 (updated 14.10.2007, 20.54) Tens of thousands of Finnish network service passwords and usernames have been leaked onto the internet. Finland's National Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the situation. The file contains information from chat rooms and social networking sites. Bank usernames are not part of the list. Some of the usernames and passwords are used by individuals on many different sites. The information security company F-Secure is urging people who visit such forums to change their passwords. The Finnish National Computer Emergency Response Team Cert-fi also issued a warning on Saturday. It said that passwords should be long and contain symbols. The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority announced on Saturday that about 80,000 Finnish network service usernames were floating around on the internet. It said Finnish usernames have never been revealed to such a wide extent in the past. The police have asked foreign countries for assistance in finding those responsible for the leak. This message was on the internet...terrible if something like this happens. (It is from Timo Tolkki)
"I was in a photosession in Helsinki 2 days ago and while we were taking promotional pictures, somone stole my bag and one guitar, a purple Fender Stratocaster Jeff Beck model. It is priceless.
But what worries me more is that the bag contained a single master and the graphic master of the whole Saana album. I went to the police and filed a report, but they said that it is unlikely I will ever see them again. I just hope this person doesn't realize the contents of the bag.
Unfortunately this will postpone the trailer release and I have to think what I will do now.
This a very bad situation. Very bad..."
