Phew... Sethlad... you´re a musical genius, dude! Which are your 2 bands then (links please)? I am NOT a musical genious, not by a long shot!!! Like I said, I only play those instruments on a average skill basis, enough to have some fun at home. Not at a proficient level, nowhere near it. I am fairly ok in most those instruments, but great in none... that's my problem. bands Hordes of Yore <--- this is still very very incomplete website, since we are only starting out. I do not only sing but also play a few instruments on the album which is coming later this year. We'll have some unmastered samples soon I guess... other band is: Arcane Wisdom <--- it's been stopped for over a year and a half.... we're now writing new stuff. edit: just noticed the arcane wisdom site is dead.... sorry.

Recorder and piano as a kid, although as soon as I can a) afford and b) make room for a piano I will be taking that up again, I _own_ a guitar (but I'm very bad at it!), and I'm planning to buy a flute. Not aiming for professional, I just like to play for fun.

My main instrument is of course, KANTELE. I have a Lovikka's 5-string kantele, and in february I have a 12-string kantele, from which I bought from Estonia. The new kantele has elk pictures and elk head in it!! ;D ;D
I can also play djembe drum, shaman drum, maracass, cattle-calling bells and jew's harp.
I can do the basic singing' and kargyraa-, khoomei- and sygyt - throat-singing. I also yoik.
I'm gonna some day play also guitar and bass, and maybe drums. And I practise cattle-calling yell. I'm gonna by myself electric kantele and bass kantele too.

Kantele is my main instrument of course, and after a couple of years or so playing the 5-stringed Lovikka's instrument (that I later sold to herr Holtiton), I managed to get myself a 10-stringed-one that is built in '95, and which is now more or less broken, because the previous owner has likely been VERY much younger than me and handled the instrument by that; the instrument is full of markings, drawings and a female name written with cat-sized, fumbling letters. Last autumn I received my new 12-stringed kantele from Estonia ( www.kandlekoda.ee/ ), a completely unique, powerful sounding and beautiful instrument, shut-bottomed, made from spruce and pine, and didn't cost much concerning to the extremely great quality and value for the money. The picture can be seen here: havusto.org/u/ikirouta/Kantele.jpgAnd as the 10-stringed kantele desided to get broken, I have to get a new-one in a same size so it could easily be taken with me when travelling everywhere; I'm then getting a new 9+2 -stringed instrument from a certain Finnish kantele maker, and the kantele has thus 9 normal and 2 bordun (bass) strings, is open-bottomed, wood-coloured and has even a shoulderband so it can be played when standing. Should be finished in the beginning of February. Other instruments I played formerly or still play: electric guitar, tin whistle, alto-recorder, mouth harp, ocarino, some trad. percussions, a bit of bag-pipes and even hurdy-gurdy. EDIT: And the Casio TM. I also do clean vocals and a bit of growl, and nowadays I'm very much interested in Tuvinian throat singing (kargyraa, khöömei and sygyt), and training for them to some day be able to use them in my own music.

In my elementary school we were offered a possibility to try several different instruments, but for financial reasons I couldn't begin to practise anything for real. So I chose singing as one way to express myself. Quitar playing is a mystery for me; that I'd like to learn. The most beautiful sound I think comes from kantele, which is another instrument that fascinates me. I play the piano a bit, but my playing is more like waste of a valuable instrument. (I have an electric piano, but can't really do anything with it, how annoying.)
