BTW... The Wikipedia entry for Brutal Legend has a list of all the songs in the game. I believe more than 100 and it's really varied and cool! Not your basic mainstream fare!

Crys, there used to be a bunch of "hype" stating that PS3 has "better graphics" due to it's supposed capabilities, but that was all speculation. I've been impressed with more 360 games than PS3 games, and when they share titles they are identical graphics-wise. PS3 also has less exclusive titles than 360 and since Sony went so far into the whole with this console for a period they were even talking about cutting the creation of games altogether. I think they realized how stupid that would have been so games are still being made for the system, but once again very few exclusive ones, and the ones that are exclusive aren't really anything to brag about. I'd consider PS3 a glorified dvd player, but that's just me. Perhaps you shouldn't take my advice because I do recognize that I am extremely biased. I think just hearing all of Sony's ideas and the like have really made me lose appreciation for them as a business to deliver a gaming system as. I recommend you get on youtube and watch E3 trailers for 360 and PS3 alike and compare the new features and games. I've been little impressed with the wii and the PS3, and to me PC and 360 are the only viable gaming systems (although PC's are damn expensive to keep updated and upgraded if you are big into the latest games) for someone who is interested in modern gaming. Or you can just bust out the Sega and NES and be happy. Oh, and if you enjoy wii-type games that require you moving around and being "active" to play, 360 has a new thing coming out called Project Natal. I was extremely impressed with it when my brother showed me the trailer they released on xbox live. Here's the trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2qlHoxPioMI'm not one for such types of games or the like, but this is quite impressive and doesn't require you to have a green screen behind you for it to register. I'm not sure how flowing it will actually be, but something to look into fi you are a wii fan. Yeah, wii is quite depressing when it comes to game releases. I am not one to care if a game has phenomenal graphics or not, but I don't like how the majority of their games seem to have that cartoony style look meant more for family based games and children games. Again though that is just me. In regards to Brütal Legend, if I'm not mistaken it is a playlist of 150 songs from quite diverse artists so you aren't going to get bored with the playlist for a long time.

Apparently I'm not the only person in the world with a Tvangeste CD in their collection - but there are some really, really glaring omissions - Iron Maiden and Deep Purple first and foremost amongst them. Probably something to do with contracts and lawyers

Kuusuru, indeed the lack of Iron Maiden is depressing. But I do indeed think it is something to do with the band or some contract. The name of some of the missions and XBOX achievements are direct puns of Iron Maiden songs, perhaps Tim Schafer's way of letting people know that Iron Maiden certainly was not meant to be missing from the game.

My brother has purchased 4 new games in the past week. Namely the eternally popular Call of Duty series, this time Modern Warfare 2 which is officially the highest grossing thing in entertainment, of all time (and it has only been out for one week.) It beat all the big blockbusters of the past, which is quite crazy. Yet the millions upon millions of people who bought that game will be spending time doing nothing productive for the next year or so. As much as I love games, I think they are only good in moderation, but such games as these can be hard to play in moderation. As for myself, my brother let me pick out a free game with credit he had at a store that he wouldn't use. I picked up Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, which is quite an excellent game. I LOVE strategy games, and it's nice to see a series that always delivers. I get tired of first-person shooters because there is no technicality behind it other than aim your gun and shoot. I swear I was a general or chieftan of some sort in a past life, because I'm obsessed with warfare strategy. To make matters better (or worse ) I've discovered that any CD you load into your XBOX 360's hard-drive can be listened to during any game you play. Which KICKS ASS, because I remember getting depressed back in original XBOX days if a game didn't allow custom soundtracks, but now, that is no worry thanks to the wonderful development of microsoft. Even better is you can link your computer through your system and listen to all the music you have straight from your computer without taking up hard-drive space (and the valuable time it takes to rip a CD), as well as any video and photos. I normally don't get excited when it comes to technology, but when it comes to my music, photography, and the like it's nice to have another means of viewing it or hearing it on a bigger screen. I'm just happy I keep myself to these small games. A couple hours playing here and there, rather than the WoW addicts who play almost 24/7. Even the few hours here and there is too much for me.

I'm not such a game addict (like my boyfriend who buys something like 5 games/month). I still have a solid experience at Guild Wars and Heroes ofMM. But right now I'm playing at a great game: Call of Juarez (Bound in Blood) for once they did something in the Wild West !!

Yes, Call of Juarez is one of the best games that came out lately! Especially on X-box, it was a lot of fun... Too bad it is very short, It only took us (me & friends, I never play games alone... Don't have the patience) 2 or 3 nights to finish.
But yeah, finally, Wild Wild West!!! And they did it qiute well I must add.

Heroes of Might and Magic is wonderful. I do miss that game a lot! There are a few other Wild West games, Red Dead Revolver (supposedly the sequel is coming out this upcoming year) which I thought was wonderful and had a cool aiming system. There sadly aren't a lot of Wild West games, I do love them when they come out, and find using the old revolvers and rifles much more awesome than the modern fighter games. Willow, your boyfriend sounds a lot like my brother. He buys games almost non-stop, he pretty much lives and breathes video games and tells me all about it (not by choice, haha) which is why I sadly know quite a few things about certain games myself. I like the occassional video game and do have a childhood passion for them as they helped me through hard times, but I still can't get into them so much that I am out of money and time each month, haha.
Heroes of Might and Magic is wonderful. I do miss that game a lot!
Hey, I still have a copy. In fact, the most die-hard addicts to fantasy turn-based strategies are all here in Russia. You can see that easily - both HoMM V and Disciples III were made here, and sometimes people here make underground old-school style games - for example, we've had a game "Eador" made recently - it's an old-school turn-based strategy, some kind of a mix of HoMM and Civilisation. It's made by only one guy, and I can't complete it because you can't load your recently saved game - you can only continue it from the last turn or go back to the previous one, but then you get penalty points. That's because the game maker decided do make it for hardcore players, and I'm not hardcore. I always play the random city in HoMM III and build the Capitol during the first week - but I know a guy who always plays Citadel (I don't know in fact how that city is called, it's the goblin city), he always buys behemoths during the second turn. He's the real addict. And if a few Russian guys gather with beerz at someone's house - they usually play a HoMM III map, so it's maybe even a national entertainment here. I have all official HoMM games till the fourth one inclusive (with all the official add-ons, of course), and even some unofficial ones, like Wake of Gods. Now I'm a little tired of this game, so I keep waiting for new mods - here a lot of guys are working at lots of crazy mods for HoMM III, with new towns and so on (for example, somebody's even making a mod based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld), but because of the usual Russian laziness there are still no new mods and towns.

But I was happy when I completely destroyed his army in Heroes OMM, I was the addict ! (Since then, he doesn't want to play this game anymore haha) Mighty Croc ~ What's this thing about a Pratchett's game ??

You'd better not keep that in mind - I'm not sure that it will be out. Some new monsters (unfortunately, this time most of them are just the old ones with different colour), a campaign and so on. This thing will be based on dialogues mostly.
Anyway, now the biggest projects that they are making are WoG 3.59 (the new WoG, with lots of abilities and even with a new town) and Horn of the Abyss (some kind of a classical-style addon, like Armageddon's Blade, each part is promised to contain a new town, a new campaign and lots of other new things), but I have no idea when they will be out.
