Sometimes you come along something special, not necessarily funny, on the net. To give this a place I started this thread. I found a website about the making of a movie about Lapland. Mostly about the Swedish part. There are beautiful pictures on thisd website, and besides that there is a nice filmfragment with the somewhat unpleasant title 'reindeer butchering' (which hurts me as poro a lot of course ;D), it contains characteristic images of the separation of a large reindeer herd. The music is very very special. You hear a singer yoiking beautifully, whish I knew who it was. More about this movie and lot's of pictures on: target Lapland

Yes the northern light's or Aurora Borealis as it is known too is truly beatifull. I love to sit in my family's cabin deep in the Norwegian woods and drink beer and watch it. Thats perfect! If only I had electricity there, then I could have listened to some Korpiklaani

That's picture of Venus is damn great ! nice stuff Check out also the archives, there are plenty of interesting pictures from many years' time. Watching it live must be incredible It surely is; I remember when I was in the army forces in '01 and in the very late autumn I was operating as a driver for military police group who then made supervision controls in our unit area, and as I was sitting inside the jeep and waiting for the group to return back, I suddenly happened to have a look up to the sky, and as it was completely dark out there in the middle of the woods, I could see the aurora borealis very clearly. I naturally jumped out of the jeep rightaway to stare the beautiful phenomenon; I was straight under it as it glew in greeny tones above me. Luckily the military police group did not come back very soon, thus I had the possibility to watch the northern lights for quite a long time.

Here you can learn more about russian music! There's huge collection of albums with different styles of music including folk music. You can listen the whole album, but you cannot download the songs so it's legal. You can also watch clips of the russian movies and order cd's, videos, and dvd's. Very useful, if you're interested in some band and want to know what it's like before buying the cd. www.russiandvd.comLearn more about the finnish and finnish related people in english. Very Good site with lots of information. www.geocities.com/ojoronen/finland.html
