dave: i like some soap operas in spanish, the venezualans. they have such a beautiful actrices!!!!!! You like "culebrones"? oh man, they're horrible! I hate that kind of soap operas, and I assure you they have nothing to do with Spanish soaps and actors and actresses... but you're right in that the women who appear there are usually very beautiful... but nothing more 'cos they're terrible actresses. When I was at secoundary school (many years ago) my mother watched that kind of serials and I sometimes have a glimpse and start laughthing 'cos they were so fucking bad! My grandmother also used to wahtched culebrones... now she has Alzheimer, I wish I were a scientific and could prove that those serials did damage her brain to the point of Alzheimer.

BANG RAJAN (Thailand)
Bang Rajan is Thai film, and it's about history of Thailand. Somewhere in 16th century Burmese army tried to conquer Thailand. A small village, Bang Rajan, stopped the mighty Burmese army.
A film is a tale of those heroes, who all were ordinary men, women and children. Film is cruel and dirty, but also sentimental, beautiful and touching in it's own way. And there's also black humour in it, from which I like.
It's the first Thai film I've ever seen, but certainly not the last one! You can say that the film is a mixture of Braveheart and the Finnish movie Talvisota added with the feeling of Seven Samurai.
I watch nowadays mainly Finnish, European, Japanese, Korean and Chinese films. I don't like Hollywood shit.

Last film I've seen was an Spanish one that I don't think you'll have the oportunity to watch; anyway it was not so good that it would worth the effort. But I just want to put this thread up in the thread list again, 'cos I think it could give us some oportunities to talk. Last film I've seen which you may also have was Farenheit 9/11. If you have read the last two Michael Moore's books you wont get anything new, but anyway it's incredible some of the things the film talk about; for example, it's extrange that being Bin Laden from Saudi Araby USA have not started a war there, being a country under tiranny... maybe it is because of all the bussiness that Bush family have with all the kings of petrol there. It is also very extrange that just the day after the New York and Washintong attacks, being forbidden for any aircraft to fly, a jet with 26 members of Bin Laden family left the USA flying to Saudi Araby. Rather extrange, isn't it?

Last film I saw was a true masterpiece: No Man's Land.
It's a film about the Servia-Bosnia Herzegovina war which is quite good because it criticizes not only the serbs and bosnians but also the UN Forces (UNPROFOR) and specially the damn journalists. THOSE VULTURES. To think that I almost became one....
