My favs are Salvador Dalì and Max Ernst. Salvador Dali is my favourite painter, too. He had a fantastic ideas. He was very positive guy. ;D www.dali.art.pl/malar2.htmlI have this picture in my kitchen. this one is kinda grainy, though... It's just above my sink so I can gaze at it while doing dishes

I've recently seen many of the original paintings by Alphonse Mucha at Aamos Anderssonin taidemuseo and it really did impress me! It was kinda shock how much his repertoure did change during the early periods but i find it rather a good thing because who would like to listen to a composer who always composes the same symphony? It's not so clear in art, though. A painter can always paint very similar painting and we accept it.

Edvard Munch was a good painter. But I watched an exhibition of Zdzis³aw Beksiñski (R.I.P.). He was better than Munch and Dali, and every painters I've seen before.

Does anyone knows the works of the genius called Alex Grey? he has made amazing paintings since he was 14. he also made a video for Tool. www.alexgrey.comYes - Genius is the right word! He's one of my favorites. His gallery is here in New York where I live - I go there fairly regularly, he holds frequent events there including full moon and new moon gatherings, art workshops, metaphysical lectures, performances, buddhist rituals, you name it. He's also a really nice, approachable guy - no apparent ego! If any of you are near NY or ever come here, be sure to check out the gallery, it's one of the most awesome places you'll ever see. By the way, great topic. Here are a couple more great artists along the same lines: Guy Aitchison - he's a tattoo artist and oil painter, and his art is even a bit reminiscent of Alex Grey's (they're friends from what I know!) and his wife Michelle Wortman is a phenomenal tattooist and artist as well. Their site is at www.hyperspacestudios.com/Also, there is (was) a British artist named John Miles who I've heard of but know very little about. The only reference I've ever seen to him online is on the following site: www.micronicos.com/arts/johnmiles/index.htmlI've seen one other painting of his... along with those two on that site, the three paintings are the only ones I've ever encountered, but IMHO he is phenomenal!! And it is surprising and disappointing that there seems to be no more information on this artist, at least from what I can tell... has any one here every heard of him?? If you like this kind of stuff check out www.erowid.org/culture/art/for more visionary art. www.erowid.org/culture/art/artists_e/art_erial.shtmlis one of my faves here!

Warhol was very specific... For me it's far, far away from the art. But critics says that it isn't.
