Hello people! I don't use my imagination oftenly, too much effort but I've got one of those moments in which I'm so bored at work that I try to find something in which occupy my mind; I was listening to a song form the last Lacrimosa album, and have search for the lyrics on the internet... of course this song is in German, so I don't understand it. I supposse a lot of people has been in this situation with lyrics that are in other language different from English or his/her mother tonge, so what do you think if we post songs here that we want to be translated? In case you like the idea, here it's my first petition: Lacrimosa: Lichgestalt Ich bin der Atem auf deiner Haut Ich bin der Samt um deinen Körper Ich bin der Kuss in deinem Nacken Ich bin der Glanz auf deinen Wimpern Ich bin die Fülle deiner Haare Ich bin der Winkel deiner Augen Bin der Abdruck deiner Finger Ich bin der Saft in deinen Adern Und Tag für Tag durchströme ich dein Herz So schnell du auch fliehst, So weit du auch kommst Trägst du mich mit dir Wohin du auch gehst, Was immer du tust Ich bin ein Teil von dir Wohin du auch gehst, Was immer du tust Ich bin ein Teil von dir Ich bin der ungelebte Traum Ich bin die Sehnsucht, die dich jagt Ich bin der Schmerz zwischen deinen Beinen Ich bin der Schrei in deinem Kopf Ich bin das Schweigen, die Angst deiner Seele Ich bin die Lüge, der Verlust deiner Würde Ich bin die Ohnmacht, die Wut deines Herzenes Ich bin das Licht, zu dem du einst wirst So schnell du auch fliehst, So weit du auch kommst Trägst du mich mit dir Wohin du auch gehst, Was immer du tust Ich bin ein Teil von dir Wohin du auch gehst, Was immer du tust Ich bin ein Teil von dir Lichtgestalt, in deren Schatten ich mich drehe

the Lacrimosa text is hard to translate, without loosing its "soul" and my english is very bad, but I try Lacrimosa: light figure I am the breath on your skin I am the velvet around your body I am the kiss in your neck I am the shine on your eyelashes I am the luxuriance of your hair I am the corner of your eyes am the print of your finger I am the juice in your veins and day after day I stream through your heart As fast you can escape, as far as you can get you carry me with you whereever you go, whatever you do I am a part of you whereever you go, whatever you do I am a part of you I am the unlived dream I am the yearning, which hunts you I am the pain between your legs I am the cry in your head I am the silence, the fear in your soul I am the lie, the loss of your dignity I am the faint, the rage of your heart I am the light, you once will become As fast you can escape, as far as you can get you carry me with you whereever you go, whatever you do I am a part of you whereever you go, whatever you do I am a part of you light figure, in your shadow I turn

dave: I have heard a few songs of Blof and that was not what I liked. Don't know if the song you mean was among those. But if you send me the lyrics, I will try to find the time to translate those. And Dave, I like this thread and will post something I have in mind, but I really don't have the time now. It will come in time, as soon as I have the time.

@nightwalking: Thank you very much! I now like the song even more than before, I really love the lyrics and the tone; I have always loved the sense of tragedy that involves love in Lacrimosa's lyrics; thanks very much for your translation!
@humpi: hey, thanks very much for saying you like the thread!. About blof's song, here you've got the lyrics:
As long as I know it seems its dedicated to one member of the band who died, but this I've been told, so I can't be really sure about it.

dave, Yes you are right, I remember the song now. It was dedicated to their percussionist Chris Götte who got killed in an accident (don't know, remember vaguely it was a motorcycle-accident). I translated it: Beautiful day The sun, the sand The heat and the quiet river The silence and the drought The emptyness of all of this heaven and earth the extent of the land The wisdom of one man That’s enough There’s nothing I’m waiting for Tomorrow the night will stay I reflect on my anxieties and the world and all the times I stayed awake I decided What a beautiful day, What a beautiful day... The soil, the grass the roads to the horizon, this trembles Time is space here Depth is wild here The nonsens and the inevitability are approaching the bounderies The love of one human was enough for me There’s nothing I’m waiting for Tomorrow the night will stay I reflect on my anxieties and the world and all the times I stayed awake I decided What a beautiful day, What a beautiful day... There’s nothing I’m waiting for Tomorrow the night will stay I reflect on my anxieties and the world and all the times I stayed awake I decided What a beautiful day, What a beautiful day... There’s nothing I’m waiting for Tomorrow the night will stay I reflect on my anxieties and the world and all the times I stayed awake I decided What a beautiful day, What a beautiful day... What a beautiful day, What a beautiful day to die...

Of course, I opposse ;D... just joking, sorry. If you want anything translated into Spanish just tell me, ok? and well, all these days I've been out from the forum I wanted to translate a song written by my so much admired Joaquin Sabina, and here it is, for all of you, and specially for Humpi So Young and So Old The first I wanted was run pretty away In the photo album of resignation. We, the kids who hated mirror-glasses, stack Rita Hayworth's gloves, streets of New York No sooner I saw how life blinked me an eye I asked her to do with me as she pleased She gave me the keys of the forbbiden city, All that I had, which is nothing, I gave to her. And so I kept on flying, and so much fast I did That even my own shadow lose sight of me. To make my trace unfound I tore my shirt I confused the stars with neon lights. I played tricks at poker, I dashed my friends, Over one bench in a park I slept as a log. Just for saying what I think not thinking what I say More than one kiss I was given, and more than one slap. What I know about oblivion I learnt from the moon, What I know about sin I had to look for it, As a thieve, under the skirt of some woman Whose name I don't want to remember right now. So by now no "Goodbye, boys!", I fall asleep at the burials of those of my generation; Each night I invent myself, I still get drunk, So Young and so old, "like a rolling stone"

Great Dave, chapeau!! Great that you did this! I can understand better why you admire his songs so much! I have a friend who lives in Argentina, he plays in several bands and writes songs and lyrics. His lyrics have a bit the same atmosphere as these. He translated a few for me. I will ask him if I can put one here.

I don't know if this song will be enjoyed, but I definitely like it. It's my translation from a song by a Spanish songwriter, Carlos Chaouen; the song don't really say a goddamned thing, but some of the images it evokes are beautiful.
Nymph of Honey
It’s not because of you that air Takes me for a walk through the pavements It’s not because of you that the sun announces the end of binges It’s not because of you that there are inmigrants stiffed with cold It’s because disorder always walks with me
It’s not because of you that I’ve got a lover on each hand It’s not because of you that Hooray Henry has everything done It’s not because of you that I like to dive on every river It’s because flesh purifies oblivion
It’s because at the bars where you attend to never happens anyhting It’s because love that returns never is the one that you expected It’s because my music is the absence of your face It’s because anxiety never was my allied
It’s for you than I see again every single colour That bleeds from light today It’s because I’m again released bird on the blue sky It’s for you, nymph of honey, that pores are again the eyes of the skin It’s for you, nymph of honey, that pores are again the mouth of the skin
Nothing yours could ever be declared demeaned Every mornig the odours of the market excites me I’m the one who could turn himself into what I’ve been, I’m the one who deals, I’m part of your nest.
I never pull up flowers because flowers like you don’t exist I always wake up in time to see how you dress up It’s not because of you that I like to dive on every river It’s because flesh purifies oblivion
It’s because life leaves me with every word I say It’s because the life I want is The same light that soul wants It’s because my music is the moon in your back It’s because magic has always been my alibi.
It’s for you than I see again every single colour That bleeds from light today It’s because I’m again released bird on the blue sky It’s for you, nymph of honey, that pores are again the eyes of the skin It’s for you, nymph of honey, that pores are again the mouth of the skin

Sorprendente, by Leño
Surprising
What’s your permanent obsesion? What’s what you want to get? What’s what burdens the sourroundings? Tell me, what can I do for you? You look at me uninterested And know a lot about me. You have seen I’m careful, Tell me, what can I do for you? I’m rather defective I’d like to be happy; I’ve got no checking account, Tell me, what can I do for you?
At some times, surprising! I know you’ve trusted on me, If I have not been enough, Tell me, what can I do for you? What’s your hermanent obsesion? Tell me, what can I do for you? YOu look at me uninterested, Tell me, what can I do for you? I’m rather defective Tell me, what can I do for you? ¿Qué es tu obsesión permanente? At some times, surprising! Tell me what can I do for you? What can I do for you?

One of my favourite songs is: Värttinä - Maahinen Neito
This song is beautiful, not only the music but also the lyrics:
Earth-maiden
What did they know of me, staring at me strangely, the suitors who would not take or touch me?
What did they know of me, staring at me strangely, unharvested in summer, unwanted in winter?
What did they feel was different in me, this maid no ploughman lifts over the threshold?
What did they know when they eyed me, the weird one? None walk with me in moonlight, or under the stars.
They said I was black, that I lie with the evil one - black, they said (those who said it were blacker). Go travel the underworld, row the secret waters, to the underworld, where black is snow-white...
What was it about me? They'd heard how odd I was, would not lie on my breast, not grant me a kiss.
What did they know of me? A witch, says the village, and the gossip goes further, a sharp wind spreading it.
They said I was black, that I lie with the evil one, black, they said (those who said it were blacker). Go travel the underworld, row the secret waters, to the underworld, where black is snow-white...
The earth-maiden's mate is the earth and the mold, in earth and mold let her kiss her bridegroom. The earth-maiden's mate is the earth and the mold, in earth and mold let her kiss her bridegroom.
