First of all, I feel myself so uneducated when I don't regognize this tv-show. When was it aired? It's a finnish show, I assume. This got to be some inside-thing, this whole show. Like my mother did regnise it and finds it very funny. Does this show have some relation on korpiklaani or is it there without any particular reason? I would love to hear the whole story My favourite songs of any album by any artist always changes. Maybe because for me there's always some songs what takes time to grow on me. Some songs are easy to prefer and some songs almost impossible. It depents also on your mood at the moment you're listening to the song. Well, from tales around this road I really prefer väkirauta. It's a very powerful song and fits my general mood. The shoutings on the chorus gives you so much energy no matter if you're feeling glad or angry. The lyrics seem to be very dark and glorius. And the theme, -which is quite popular in the fantasy sagas-, could also happen in a real life (not literally).

Happy LittleBoozer just gets me excited and I have loads of energy. And then when me and my friends drink some booze then we are all in a good mood and start to dance and sing

I'm a little ashamed to ask but what/who is Manowar? ;D I've heard the name before and wondered it and then forgot about it...It only brings to my mind a russian teenkeitin samovaari which i'm acheally planning to buy in the nearest future.

Kirki, although honestly, this was in general the worst album so far. Gets only 7/10 in my book (the 1st got 9,5/10, 2nd 8/10). I'm missing the folk rawness and the rocking metal, plus there are too many breaks in it, not to mention the overpolished sound. You're on a good path of becoming Finntroll No.2 - repetitious folksy metal/rock (okay, the trolls are folksy black metal). Get dirty and rough! Perkele! Expecting tons of hate mail.

Well, about the choice, hmmm. Ithink i prefer you are the one because it is the Love song of the year, Midsummer night as the summer song of the year, rise because it is critical about the christian conquerors. And mostly all the others for some reason.
Peace flame

Yes, I voted Happy Little Boozer a while ago, but Im loving under the sun at the moment I think it is good that you can only choose one song, because otherwise all songs would get an equal amount of votes ;D

I kind of agree with Kettu.I was shocked when I heard the album.I mean, the guys really play and sound great,but...Something's missing. It's animalistic and cruel, fits only in an atmosphere of drunk to hell people and orgies. It is fine, but the emotions present on the past two albums seem to have gone with the smoke of warriors'flames. And,yeah, there is something of Manowar in it.I am a true Manowar hater,so,it is natural I detest any similarities to The Band Whose Name IS Not To Be Mentioned In MY Presence >:(However,if I have to choose,I vote for Rise.It seems very pagan.Under the sun is funny and sounds a bit like pop music, but I like the lyrics, they could reffer to any kind of true friendship-I would personally dedicated it to my sister and my best friend.

It is fine, but the emotions present on the past two albums seem to have gone with the smoke of warriors'flames. Only thing is that the way I see it, there's namely more of the real Finnish tradition in "Tales" -CD. More than ever before. There's moods with many - not just that humppa touch. The real folk instruments (violin, accordeon, jouhikko, torupill, kantele, mouth harp) are mixed so that they can easily be heard and recognized. They play much more stronger part in this CD than before and it's a good thing. Ie. "Kirki" brings to my mind much newer Finnish post-traditional folk music. If you really think so, then why you listen this music in the first place? You can't avoid from Manowar - similarities in this genre. ;D For me there's no any sort of "pagan" namely in that song. In "Tuli kokko" there's much more the real tradition and closed-to-the-nature things, which are represented in the old Finnish runo-songs too, and thus tell much more about the true ancient Finnish life and beliefs than any "pagan" songs.

Exactly my opinion too, though I won't dare to say I know as much of this subject as Virva. Besides this more folky touch, (far more than a touch!) is this album also more metal than before; it's an amazing mix, and also very original and new. An excellent combination of the metre of the lyrics and the staccato way of singing makes many songs on this album brand new in every aspect. The special rhythm of the lyrics, with the alliteration and the similar vowels and consonant combinations, makes an unrivalled symbiosis with the music. ( I already wrote this in my review in the 'tales review' thread, but the longer I think about it, the clearer it becomes...that the music brings the ultimate qualities of the lyrics out. Of course everyone has to decide for him/herself. Btw I am not a Man-o-war fan myself, though I know some (many) songs. I don't see any resemblance, besides that the sound of korpiklaani became heavier, especially in Väkirauta. It think it's great this way, just an evolution, as it should be.
