From the news page: 17-10-2005 Korpiklaani will start recording their 3rd album on 17th of November at Fantom studio. The album will be named "Tales Along This Road". The exact release date isn't confirmed yet, but a rough guess is that it might be out in March or April. Whoohoo!

Thanks for the info! I rarely check the official page so I usually miss the news ecspesially because the page does not support opera browser (it shows everything very narrow...)...
And conserning the topic: Wohoo too! Hope they will keep the samekind of artwork, it is cool...

That's odd, it works great atleast with Explorer and Firefox. And actually the boys enter the studio already on 15th day, I was pretty tired when I was updating the pages

The issue is fixed now and the pages work well atleast with my Opera. Some browsers may show an extra scroll bar if you use resolution lower than 1152x864, but that's because I wanted people be able to scroll to the very bottom of the page and read the legal notice in that narrow brown box I deleted my previous post because I don't want to spam this thread any more than neccessary.

Hello! I don't think we are going to write any detailed studio report, but here's a very short update: As already mentioned, bass and drum tracks were recorded already before the second leg of the tour. If I remember correctly, Matson completed his part in three days and I finished the bass parts in two days, or actually in two evenings since I had to be at the "real" work during the days. I hadn't actually even visited the studio since that until today. Juho has already been in the studio playing guitar(!) on at least the two songs that he wrote. Jonne has also been busy recording guitars and he was there actually today doing just that. When I left to go back to work I think he had only 2 songs to go, so I guess his guitar parts are finished by now. He was supposed to start with vocals tomorrow. While he was recording his parts I got to hear some of the stuff he'd already done and I was really surprised on how good that actually sounded. I think I am already our fan! I'll buy the album on the day it is released. Or maybe I can get a free copy? Or maybe I'll just do like everybody else and download it from the internet! ;D Anyway, I've also taken some pictures. Not much, and nothing that fancy, but I'll put them up anyway. I'll put them on my own personal web space, but if any of the moderators knows a better place for them, feel free to copy them there. Please note the very high tech bass drum recording microphone that is best visible in file DSCN0949.JPG. Files are quite large (~1MB each) so it may take a while to load them. Hope this satisfies Your needs for studio diary. At least a part of it. Yours, j.

Yes, the band is experimenting with the new image. And the socks have a huge impact on how the new album sounds. It sounds woolly and purple! Or maybe not. j.

Jarkko, thanks a lot! Nice! Hope someone (you maybe) will take some more pics and tell more... Those clothing remarks...I never see what people wear, so I had to check every photo again... wasn't this about recording? ("They don’t tell what you are, They tell what you wear”) In the ‘how to make a blackmetal band’ guide, posted in ‘funny shit’ it says: I really saw something like that! ;D *The huge container is for songs that weren't good enough? ;D*

Oh bollocks! I forgot to explain one of the photos: DSCN0960.JPG That is taken from outside of the studio. The sign is ofcourse in Finnish, and it says "metal only". I think that was kind of a funny sight when you are going to a studio to record an album.

Considering the second picture... the new album consists of songs for fitness programmes? *g*

Considering the second picture... the new album consists of songs for fitness programmes? *g* Not really. I think Matson was explaining something like "juu kato, I will leap over my drum kit and dive into the audience like this. It'll make a great show. Trust me, I know what I'm doing". Yours, j.
