(This topic is about the past of Korpiklaani and it’s members) Once upon a time there was a Finnish boy, he loved to make music already at early age. So, soon the time came that he got his first band together. They called it Sacrifice, but changed the name to the cooler, and more unique name Zacrifice. The band existed during 1988-1990 and the members were: Petri Jalonen: drums (he is also on the beer beer video. He was a member of the Korpiklaani crew on the first tours) Jani Lahtinen: bass Leo Lagerstam: guitar Jonne Järvelä: vocals and guitars This is the rehearsal room of Zacrifice in Vesilahti: Zacrifice played old school heavy rock. Jonne wrote his first songs starting 1986-1987 and Zacrifice played about ten of these. Leo also wrote one song and Jani gave ideas and riffs too. Zacrifice also played some Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Metallica songs. In that time there was only one place for Zacrifice gigs: Harjala in Vesilahti Harjala youth centre is still the same as in those days

Sounds good...
This is, as I understand before Jonne went to the Samí?
Is there any material of those days available anywhere?

Yep, before. As far as i know he was around 17 when he went to the Saami, and this is earlier. I know he played daily together with Maaren Aikio in the Hullu Poro hotel in Levi near Rovaniemi ( www.hulluporo.fi/ ). Now it is very big, but then it was not. For this thread i found an old picture of Shaman.

That is a great photo, humppa, Jonne looks so serene. Do you dig these up from the internet, or do you have a secret source?

That would maybe be a bit exaggerated to say Levi is NEAR Rovaniemi (as to give a point of orientation about where this place is) ;D It's about 200 km straight way North from Rovaniemi.

Great wallpainting, I'd like to see it in person And in Shaman's pic... is Jonne wearing a "poncho" from South America? , maybe I 'm wrong, but the animals looks like "Llamas" or "Guanacos"

I'm sure, that it's not llamas nor guanacos, it's female deers. I've read some books about the female deer cult in northern shamanism.
