Whats up guys? Jonne do u have formal music studies? and the other question is if you use any scale when you are composing or your only guide are your ears and heart? ^^ . I got some acoustic guitar lessons when I was a kid, nothing else. Composing leads me and I just try to follow. There is no any rules.

All together in a little ( red) house of course Secretly hidden in the forest... something like this: Inside Vaari sits near the fire, celebrating, when the guys are on tour (as you can see on the Karkelo cover) Endresult: When the band finished touring and return home finding out that their secret stash of alcohol is totally gone and Vaari passed out on a wooden bench. I want to ask Jonne if his tattoos have a meaning if so which meanings do they have (to you)

I like hearing peoples' tattoo stories, even if the story is "I thought it looked cool so I got it"

I was watching Folk-Pagan metal documentary. When the interviewer asked what your view towards immigrants are - Jarko said no comment.
This goes to the whole band, I am assuming this band has an anti-immigrant, or racist thinking because Jarko or the band would of said we don't mind them or have no problem with them.
This puts me to concern because i've bought all your CD's, i own one of your t-shirts, and have been to 2 of your shows. It would put me down if you guys were, because I am married to an immigrant from France.

I'm sending you my address, you are sending me all your Korpiklaani CD's and then - no remorse, no regret, no this "great racist" Jar kko! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You say that you are assuming this band is anti-immigrant or racist thinking. I said, that it appears that you know nothing of the band nor its individual members. I am a African-American(a minority in my own country) that will be moving to Finland(soon to be a immigrant there) and hopefully a citizen in time. I have all of their albums, I wear the Shaman symbol around my neck, I have seen "countless" shows! And, it has been during these countless shows that I've had the honor meeting and hanging out with them on several different occasions. Which gives me a unique perspective. Mr. Aaltonen was the first member of the band that my girlfriend and I met. Right in front the venue where they had just finished performing at was Jarkko standing next to the tour bus. We went over to congratulate him on a brilliant performance It was Jarkko who in turn expressed great happiness at see me, a African-American in the crowd headbanging and having a great time. It was Jarkko and Hittis that my girlfriend and I sat at a bar with and talked to until the wee hours of the morning before they had to leave. After that first initial meeting whenever I've come cross ANY of the band members they have ALWAYS greeted me in friendship! ALWAYS!!! If how they treat me is racist then we need more like them! Guns2010 do not look for something that is not there with this band. Do not look for something that is not there in the individuals of that band. Take it from one who truly knows

Terve!
Well, I haven't watched the documentary myself and can not really remember the circumstances around that question or my answer. However, there are few things that I would like to say about things like this in general.
Korpiklaani is not a political band. We do not promote any political movement. We do not take sides on political issues. We do not interfere with societal issues. Among all other things this includes also immigration. All this is perhaps one reason for me to say no comment. If I had answered any other way, either pro or con, I would have taken a side in a societal issue and as I said, we don't do that.
Another point to consider is that questions like that are usually meant to lead the answers to a certain direction. It doesn't require Einstein to understand that especially in the folk/pagan/whatever scene there are a lot of nationalistic characteristics and some of that is definitely on the darker side of the humanity. Usually a person who asks a question like that is trying to get a provocative answer that he/she could use to promote his/her own personal agenda which may not be that nice. This is a red flag for me. Hence the "No comments" reply.
Personally I hate any kind of extremism. Whether it is political, religious or just about a musical taste. The world is not black and white. It is grey. Learn to live with that and until you do, shut the fuck up. (Not meant to be a personal note to the original poster!)

For me this is a disappointing statement. How can you be so indifferent to the problem "nazis in the metalscene"? To be against nazis has basically nothing to do with beeing polital or not,it has to do with basic ethical and human values. You can be political if you are against nazis but you don`t HAVE to be.I know that some-or even many-people make a political issue out of it but I take a critical look on this because non-political people think that they don`t have to care then. But that`s wrong!Facism (or any other big injustice, any other ways of discrimination like homophobia, contempt towards women, disabled people etc)regards everone and everyone should do something against it.Don`t get me wrong,I am no preacher who preaches politcal correctness,I mean it straight from the heart.Wouldn`t you expect help and solidarity if YOU were affected by any injustice?I would and because of this I`m willing to give it. There are bands who find really clear words against nazis without beeing a political band as a whole,Unleashed for example who say that they would tell nazi-"fans" to leave the concert immediatly if they saw some at a gig.Would you say that their image is political just because of such statement? They are still a "normal" viking-death-metal band. I cannot understand why the metalscene is so indifferent.I mean-I`m sure that most of the metalfans don`t want nazis in the scene with all consequences caue that would mean the end of the things we love about metal.Nazis don`t want freedom, they don`t want peaceful concerts and festivals were fans and friends from all over the world come together, they want to destroy good atmosphere, fun and also own thoughts, critical lyrics and so on....I don`t say that this will happen today or tomorrow,I just want to show that we don`t talk about just some idiots who feel cool if they shave their head and bawl some drunken slogans,I want to make clear that it is no political correct left-wing phrase if I say we must stand together against nazis but we are talking about a serious problem.Nazis are bad but they are not stupid. They have their plans to reach their goals. This is no panic, this is a fact. For example they come in schools and try to convince specific the young people there very cleverly. Can you assure that this will never happen in the metalscene (I see many young people at concerts) even if you (not meant personal to Jarkko but the general "you") behave in this indifferent way,if you tolerate nazis at concerts (I remember a discussion here about 1 1/2 year ago) and so on?Can you assure this won`t have any negative consequences for the metalfans, the metalscene?I don`t think you can...If something seroius happened, some right-winged violence at a concert for example-then everyone would say:"Oh,that`s bad,we don`t want it.How can this happen?" But why wait until something happens? Nip it in the bud! I`m so pissed off of nazis that I want to say it out loud whenever I have the chance-and even more when I`m asked.I can follow Jarkkos arguments when he says that some people want to provoke with such question and I really dislike it,too but nevertheless you can say your opinion about this right-winged shit and then you can add that you dislike such questions if they are meant as provokation. And furthermore not everyone who asks such questions has bad intentions. And what about the people who read/watch an interview and want to form an own opinion about the band?On one hand you don`t want prejudices but on the other hand you don`t give people a chance to reduce them if you simply don`t say anything.I`m used to it that many bands don`t make 100 % clear statements against facism but this example is one of the worst I ever read (together with one of Falkenbach). And I don`t mean only this "no comment" but even more Jarkkos words here on the forum.Obviously you are not THAT pissed of facists that you want to tell it whenever there is a chance and this is totally different to me.I make clear statements-even more if someone asks me and I don`t know if this difference is tolerable for me.I don`t want to overstate this one situation in this documentary but his statement here seems to be really basic and if the others of the band share this attitude I seriously think about breaking up with Korpiklaani-or maybe not completely break up but don`t reckon them among my favourite bands anymore.I can listen to the music here and there but if I call a band one of my faves also the most important inner values must fit and I`m not sure about this with Korpiklaani anymore...
