@ And some people in some arab country (I think it was Iran) said: In Holland you can walk almost naked without being fined, but they don't want women to cover themselfs completely. While it is there the other way round. And they never get a cold? ? And what's most important... if they are half naked.... what the hell am I doing in Spain? Well, seriously, the same debate is also in Spain, should be the veil banned in publis schools and so on? I personally think that a state of right shouldn't ban these kind of manifestations... think about it, if the veil is banned Muslimis have the same right to ask for the ban of crucifies, David's Stars and why not, the tshirt of a group or the tshirt of a football team. I think the state must preserve the rights from the right of everybody to express freely; but one thing is clear, if one community falls into proselitism and try to ban some symbols to allow other ones to occupy the gap left, then this community must be punished. But this is going maybe beyond the limits of the topic

A few days ago a serial rapist (very famous one, was caught a few years ago) escaped from prison, and now it's just chaos what's going on in the country.. The news are all about him, and the streets are filled with ads that say "Help us find him!", with his picture, and the police phone number (100 LOL).. The amount of policemen and the means to support these policemen cost so much every day.. They actually fires his mom from where she worked! www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/794496.htmlI think this whole situation is pretty funny, how he managed to "magicly" escape..

Is it the same guy who claimed that his rights as a human are disrespected, because his raped victim said in a TV show: "I wish he would be dead." ? It's a shame...

Some horrible news from Holland (I expect it to be on the news in other countries as well):
Some guy al clothed in black, and with a hood, entered a primary school and cut the throat of a 8 year old boy. The police has completely no idea about how and why this happened. They have a 22 year old man in custody.
the police says that the suspect is no family of the victim, and that the other children on the school haven't seen the victim.
There's some rumor that the victim is the son of a bank director.

Other horrible news from my hometown: Last week, a 20 year old guy killed a 24 year old woman by hitting her with his car. The woman's sister was also involved in the accident and got injured seriously, but didn't died. The man who caused the accident already drove without drivers licence for 4 years...

In Berlin, a 10-year-old (?) girl was attacked by some guys with knives... It happened last weekend near a shopping mall...

But this is going maybe beyond the limits of the topic Heheh finally the country I very grudgingly admit to living in (america) does something right: I don't think this place would ever go so far as to banning the veil or anything else someone can wear. On the one hand, it occurred to me that banning the veil in public schools can help some students: after 9/11, I hear that a lot of muslim kids (particularly girls with veils, who stand out) who live in non-muslim neighborhoods have been undergoing a very hard time in school getting harassed by their peers and even teachers. Perhaps if they don't wear the veil they will not stand out too much and might have an easier time. But it is a cynical viewpoint... overall I agree with you, banning an item of clothing or religious expression can only snowball into further intrusions on civil liberties. Here in NYC, the news for the last couple of weeks has been entirely regarding a black man who was shot & killed by police on his wedding day. Today the news is of a huge protest march on 5th ave with thousands of protesters. But this kind of news happens in NYC on an almost a regular basis! (again, a cynical sentiment, but true...)

Main thing in the English new at the mom (well this week) is the Suffolk Ripper. In the space of two weeks, five naked bodies of prostitutes have been found in the Suffolk are. Police are getting pretty worreid because it is believed 4 of the 5 victims died of heroin overdose, one of strangluation. All women in the area have been advised to go out in groups, not split up or go alone, and to make sure people know where you are going and when youll be back.
I think everyone in the Souther Counties (including where I live) is pretty shook up about this at the moment. And he seems to be trying to emulate the Yorkshire Ripper. If you dont know anything about him, Wiki, Peter Sutcliffe or the Yorkshire Ripper and you should get some quite good results

Oh, obviously we had high life 200 km north from here "Rocktaurant, Lordi’s first restaurant will open today in Rovaniemi, Finland. Lordi themselves are obviously there and promise a huge party, obviously with pyros and fireworks. Since no less than 1000 people are expected to join in the fun, including guest of honour Santa Claus, Mr Lordi's real life neighbour and local traffic police have been alerted. Up in northern Finland 1000 people do make a difference! A part of Rovaniemi centre will be closed to traffic 19.30-23 tonight." source: www.esctoday.com/news/read/7014

This morning, the terrorist band ETA [Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (Euskadi & Freedom)] has gone back to their old ways and they have put a bomb-van in the parking D of the fourth terminal (T-4) of the Barajas Airport, in Madrid. The bomb went off at 8:57 a.m. At 6:45 a.m., an anonymous call to DYA (Road Assistance) informed that they've put a bomb there. Later, the band called again, this time in the name of ETA. No deaths, twenty-four persons have been injured slightly, the most of them because of the sound of the explosion. One of them have his/her eardrum destroyed. One person is missing, probably he is buried under the rubble.
EDIT: The bomb went off half an hour before the hour given by ETA. (9:39 a.m.). The police sealed off the parking, but some experts in bombs, who were there, have been injured.
I'll have more details of the attack, so I'll write more later.

It seems that the bomb has destroyed 4 levels from the parking lot in which the car was parked, and the dissapeared man hasn´t been found yet. It´s quite easy he is dead; if so t will bge the first person killed by ETA since 2003, and the end of the negotiations for peace. I only can express my thanks to PP, they finally got what they wanted by putting so many obstacles for the negotiations. Maybe in the future they will have again the chance to negotiate with ETA... I´m sure the Socialist party won´t play such mischevious tricks as PP has played during this now unfortunately broken negotiations. In the meantime I wish the next attack of ETA will be directed towards the Party House of PP.
