where I come from, it's a big deal. especially in wintertime when the lakes are frozen here.... nothing like sitting in a warm hut and waiting for the fish to bite!
When I get up tomorrow, ill post a few pictures.

Here in Finland we just go to the lake, "drill" a hole and start fishing, we don't need warm huts, you can allways walk to the shore after or in the middle of fishing, make fire and grill sausage on the open fire, and drink hot chocolate Even us, the students, have ice fishing competitions in the winter, here is a pic of me from last Feb. But normaly, when fishing, I have different outfit, on that pic there is just my student overall (the orange thingy with patches)

Usually I fish in shorts and a thermal shirt, because of the nature of the mountain climate and thin air making cold temps bearable.... but since it's been 30 below zero here this last month, It does require bundling up, haha. here's some early ice at a small mountain pond... it was fun that morning and not so cold, haha. here's last weekend's bigger fish. I always wanted to try icing up in finland and those places in northern europe. seeing pictures of zanders make me drool...

Here in South Dakota we fish for Walleyes and Northern Pike. Some fish for catfish, I don't though. We have the coldest weather of the season coming this week.
Mountain Fisherman, are the residents of Colorado enjoying their "rocky mountain high" legally?
