Very bad: The result of the elections. Honestly, how can every 5th person (or let's say almost, since not everyone living in this country actually got to vote) here be so messed up in their heads to vote for an extremely right-wing-redneck-racist party? I knew that most people in general were stupid, otherwise this world as it is couldn't be explained, but really, sometimes I don't know what to say anymore. Because fifth of the population are racist redneck hicks? No, seriously. I bet many of them voted because they really are, but many also voted as a protest to the previous liberal right wing government that has managed to mess social politics up pretty nicely in here. Somehow they also managed to get the uneducated public (remember, 2/3 of people didn't even know which parties were in the government) to think it was all because of the liberal left wing. The good thing that came out of this was that the arrogant Centre party (read: a full-blown right wing party) with it's dodgy and criminal representatives suffered a huge loss. I would say, and I certainly wish, that True Finns won't be able to keep any of their promises and they would only end up arguing inside the party, causing the whole government fall apart so that we'd have a new election way sooner than in 4 years. That would be a huge blow to the faces of the voters who see them as some messianic savior party, causing them to abandon voting in the next elections. So, True Finns would come down, but Centre Party wouldn't recover from it's loss either, leaving only National Coalition and half of the Social Democratic Party to the top from the right wing. Even though I don't fully agree with their financial and social decisions, they have at least somewhat liberal values what comes to human rights. The worst thing I can see coming from this is that the fascist kids would start to feel they are somehow right and tolerated by the public since their golden idol, "race doctor" Halla-Aho had a huge success. Edit: And just for the case so that no-one wouldn't imagine anything: These are my personal views that have nothing to do with the band. I am in no way related to the band or it's members, I'm just an admin who keeps an eye that you folks follow the rules here on the forum 'Klaani are well known not to make ANY political statements in the public.

Pentangle - Hunting song The song's name caught my attention while I was browing through Pentangle's discography ;D Awesome folk-rock song form the good year of '69: I've discovered some awesome 60's folk groups tonight, Pentangle being just one of them

That reminded me of another one: When someone is really stiff physically, he's like if he "had swallowed a fence pole" Now that's intriguing, because we have that also! Hmm... As a wild guess I'd say that the sayings in here were introduced by the finnish kales, since the migration has been to here and not the other way. Even though they first settled here about 500 years ago, the sayings might have come later with possible new immigrants. The romani still speak with lots of sayings and wordplay in here And those sayings don't sound like they were invited just yesterday anyway.

We have exactly the same saying about the calf and the new gate That reminded me of another one: When someone is really stiff physically, he's like if he "had swallowed a fence pole". And if someone is trying to cheat you to profit himself, he's "peeing in the eye" or "filing your lens".

In Czech, and maybe Slovak(I don't know much of their slang), we compare everything with "like a swine". It makes no sense when I think about it... xD Pretty strange, since that's used in Finland as well and it indeed makes no sense. "Tastes good like a swine", "fun like a swine", "rains like a swine", "I need to pee like a swine" and so on, it can be used as an adjective with anything Edit: Looks like the other finns haven't said anything on this yet, so here's a few random ones I can think of. Some of them are more traditional ones, others are still used pretty commonly in daily speech. - Something's large in size or just unbelievable but true: "xx is unsconscious" - Actually unconscious: "consciousness out in the woods" - Really drunk: "drunk as a cuckoo", "in a terrible gas", "faces", "in a fart" - Dizzy or baffled: "Head on a wheel / like a wheel" - Someone doesn't know which way to go: "He rolls like a lingonberry in a pussy" or "rotates like a russian in a supermarket" (sorry ;D) - A coward: "rabbitpants" - Someone screams aloud: "He screams like a beach devil" - Someone looks shaggy: "Looks like a beach bandit" - Someone has bad hair: "like a caged owl" or "like a predator bird's ass" - Combat boots: "granny kicking shoes" - Something's badly made or built: "a monday piece" - Really cold: "cold like in a polar bear's ass" - Heavy rain: "raining old hags" or "raining knives"

Turmion Kätilöt - Hanska I just love the intro on this one Too bad this new album isn't anywhere near as good as the previous one. It has a few good tracks, but generally it's just mehh with pretty similiar songs and without any superb highlights. Excluding the intro, of course ;D Freely translated: "Saturday night, all work done, but I'm a bit lost There's no police in sight, maybe this one time, I'll give myself permission to..."

Shitbook is not an option for me. If a friends really want to contact me they will do it(not in a crappy way like peeing on my wall). Free - yes much of the shits are free. It's sucking network, much people sitting there all day and think they becoming social?! WTF stupid sheeps... And for conspiracy - SB is so huge database - IMO there is no way not to be used from corporations and secret services to know what crowd is out there and how to control it... That's what our grandmas must have thought about telephones I'm one of them junkies that have FB on for the whole day, even though I'm not using it actively for most of the time. It's basically just like a phone line that's connected, enabling people to contact me. As you said, it's extremely useful for keeping in touch with your friends in different time zones and countries. I also like the way how I can invite all my friends to a party and share information with just a few clicks, rather than calling them all or messaging them each time some plans change a bit. There's certainly no free meals, but unfortunately many people don't ever learn that. I share really little information in FB over all, even less for the people who are on my friend list but aren't that close and basically nothing to those I don't know. One won't even find my profile with Google or see my profile picture unless I've added him / her as a friend. I don't see why anyone would want to know my religious or political views, sexual preference, parent's and siblings names and all that right after they've met me. If they do, they can ask for them face to face. Still, even with so little information shared, I still get disturbingly well targeted ads every now and then. We made a semi-humorous fan page for our home brew beer barrel that's bubbling at the moment, in finnish and referring it as "son" without mentioning brewing or beer in any way. The next day the ads on the main page were selling me danish instant home brew kits. I also have a profile in Diaspora, the service that was supposed to bring Facebook down with way better security and usability, but so far it's social as an abandoned camp in Sahara

I've listened the album a few times (for free, streaming) and it starts to sound better over time. My first thought was that it's basically circus music with some dun-dun-dun -rhythm guitars, and even though I still haven't got rid of the idea of an elephant balancing on a ball rather than Mad Max vikings fighting pirates, it's growing on me slowly np. The great escape from that album.

We've been to the gig in Lahti and was just great time. Highlights: Meeting the Pink Panther Hahah ;D Sorry that I disappeared without any warning, looks like it's becoming a bad habit for me... My sister was kind of in a hurry, so we left right after I had tried to smoke my cigars that had dried so badly that they just crumbled. It was great to meet you guys as well the tiny boozers from Vantaa I totally missed the whole merchandise stand, wouldn't have minded getting the limited edition box and Shaman pendant as well. I was also wondering who the extra guitarist was, how rude to leave him without introduction!
