Maris: I am sorry for your loss and send you my most sincere condolences. I am glad though that the funeral services were laden with at least some humor, to me that is necessary no matter how serious the occasions are. Laughter is a great way of keeping people alive.

I've been listening to nothing but Werkraum's "Early Love Music" album, and despite the fact that the songs are all romantic and many still are uplifting, I find that they only make me yearn rather than rejoice. The opposite effect of perhaps what most people are used to experiencing, but for me it is much easier to be happy when listening to melancholic music, whereas it's much easier to be mellow when listening to happy music. Here is one of my favorites from this album, well... they all tie for my favorite song. (their rendition of Dietmer von Aist's "Slâfest du, vriedel ziere?" sends shills down my spine every time I hear it): www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFkQ0a6MDbo

Good: I love this semester. Biology class is wonderful thanks to a great Professor. Philosophy is naturally wonderful, it's so good to have that Professor again and talking about my two favorite Philosophers! German is great as always. State and Local Government is tolerable, not sure how I feel about the professor yet (she spent a class and a half talking about the syllabus, most of it was VERY self-explanatory to begin with, haha) but it's still a good class thanks to it's open discussion format. Bad: The weekend! I love my classes so much that I actually hate not being on campus. how 'bout that? Good: Not sure if I mentioned this here earlier, a member from a Viking Reenactment group in Reykjavik has moved to Iowa City about an hour away from here (and where I hope to go to Uni) and has set up a Viking Reenactment group there! There are two events coming up in February, I hope my student loan comes in for time in order for me to make it.

You're welcome Sister... Bear? Not sure what animal you'd prefer best With the discovery of a Neofolk Compilation and the gracious recommendation of a friend, I've found this wonderful Chilean Neofolk band. I'm speechless... www.youtube.com/watch?v=946GwMaTUc8And also Dornenreich: www.youtube.com/watch?v=60eIbNK0OtQI could listen to these two bands all day (I've done it many times with Dornenreich, but Bauda now too!) such moving and heartfelt music...

rouva: indeed I do! That's what I love about medieval music, although I know a few medieval bands and interesting medieval CDs with wonderful initiatives, there is always many many more that I do not know about and have never heard of! I've been listening/watching the new video of Dalriada for their upcoming album: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9F7b4skyUy4

Socke: much great health to your next mate for Matti, and to Matti for that matter. That's quite a shame! Maybe it's just my local area, but classes have always been bad for German. Spanish is heavily attended, and French isn't too bad off either. German on the other hand always seems to be lacking, so much so that as previously mentioned the Uni I will be attending no longer offers graduate programs in German (which is a shame, because they have a wonderful German program!). To me americans need to learn new languages, everyone should, and I think combining my German degree with Philosophy is going to be a great way to get taht point across. I'm going to talk with my German classmates and see if they'd be interested in a study group, perhaps that would help them learn the material better and thus gain a bigger interest. By the way, was Finnish offered to you at Uni or evevn earlier on? Just curious, because would be interesting to try and take a Finnish class in Germany if I could transfer to the right school. I'm not sure how Language classes go over there, but here it's like they try compacting as much Grammar memorization in a single year as possible. It's sad, in one year of language learning these students go through rules from the Nominative to the Genitive, and to me that's just crazy! Ironically though very little is done in the way of VOCAB learning. Sadly that means even if the teacher is good, due to the standardized curriculum of language learning it doesn't matter how good they are, results can still be very poor unless students take a lot of time for out of class study. I'm adding Goodbye Lenin to "need to watch" list now after two recommendations!

RIP Pekka... I'm sorry Socke! Tiina: You almost fell into the no. 1 tripped trap of facebook: talking about people you forget were on your friends list hahaha. If you ever need to talk about someone to blow off steam, there's always this forum! Good: school went well yesterday despite the headache. I enjoy all of my classes naturally, although I have yet one to go to today. Biology should actually be pretty interesting, and since my instructor doesn't take attendance than I can miss a few classes if I want, but not the labs.Cool too is she's from Bulgaria, lived there until she was 18. I knew her name screamed "Eastern Europe" but I never knew which part. Kierkegaard and Nietzsche is great. I haven't had a class with this wonderful Philosophy professor since 2 years ago (nearly)! So it's great to be back. Already we started on Kierkegaard and I just love it. German, well that's always great. It's just a fun class because it's so sociable on a subject I actually don't mind being social about! Bad thing is yesterday there were only 3 other students besides myself, although supposedly there are an extra 2 more. Last year she said she had only ONE student in her 102 class.... and this is my major! haha but Passion trumps reason for me, so I don't care how, I'm reviving this language as much as I can in the States. Great: Biology professor doesn't require the study guide, so I can take that back and get 53 dollars back into my account! Better: According to my friend whose had class with my State and Local Government professor a few times, she doesn't even touch the book. If that truly is the case I get to take it back and get 100 dollars back into my account!

I concur that it is one of the best lineups I've seen! While looking through the bands I kept gasping everytime I made it to another wonderful band (which wasn't hard) and realizing that I'd be missing out on it! I've never been on a cruise, and I'm not the biggest fan of tropical weather (minus the fact that you get to walk around with nothing but swimming shorts on ) but I think I could learn to love all of it with this concert(sssss) Bad: Waking up with a huge headache the first day of school. I never wake up with headaches!!!

Good/Bad: Semester starts tomorrow. I'm excited about the Philosophy and German class, but not so much about the Biology and State/Local Government classes. we'll see though. The bad part is that Tuesdays and Thursdays are long days: leaving the house at 7 and not getting home until around 2:15, and since I'm poor I won't have money for food so I'll be starving a good 5 hours of that. Time to save up for a lunchbox, haha Good: this: metalstorm.net/events/news_comments.php?news_id=12746Bad: Can't afford to go, not just the ticket prices, but the whole plane ticket to Miami. That's GOT to be awesome though! It's 100 times better than any other concert, because not only do you get the concert, but you get 10 times the bands and get to stay on the same boat with them WHILE travelling! That's pretty much like being on the tour bus, hahaha.

No matter where you live there is ALWAYS demand for photography, or any type of position for that matter, one must just look carefully. Perhaps you could also get a position for an internationl company? I know for instance that the popular National Geographic company is almost always looking for photographers. Not to mention almost countless other magazines. And if not you could indeed as Maris has said make your own prints. Heck, I know I'd buy some!

Noncho this is not the first time you've taken and shared such an AMAZING photo! Have you ever considered a job in photography? Really your photographs are always so wonderful! Not just the quality but the layout and composition! Your photos are so good I don't want to share any of mine, because they are crap in comparison! hahaha (I still do plan on sharing though, haha)

Bad: Still it has been hard for me to concentrate on anything. Annoying: For months now my inbox here keeps telling me that I have "1 new message", despite the fact that all of my messages are read and for the most part even replied. Not sure why it's still there, but it's damn annoying. Good: Been a somewhat peaceful day with good music.

@tiina: Oh yes, Anwend loved the sounds indeed! Lately I've been trying to recreate the sounds of my past: my most treasured albums and songs. I've been very depressed listening to it though, because only VERY few albums still are wonderful to me. And almost none of them reminded me of the same feelings that they used to... perhaps because I've been so disconnected with emotions lately. I need to change that, I'd hate to lose out on old beloved feelings and memories attached to music! Here are just some of the ones I've been relistening that I still love: Morbid Angel (supposedly their new album will FINALLLY be released on Dec. 21, 2012 AKA the day think the world is NEXT going to end, haha) www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rHuuOdaxPYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq-FVsrBpJQLet the records show that Domination is one of my favorite metal albums of all time. Marduk: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnGwhMFmQFkSamael: www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7HFwGaRseAwww.youtube.com/watch?v=_DLdY3A28qQPassage and Ceremony of Opposites are timeless albums, if I ever woke up and didn't love these albums as much as I did growing up than I don't know what I'd do!

Bad: Last nights extreme case of insomnia has prevented me from sleeping pretty much all. Aside from a brief restless nap in the morning I haven't been asleep in a good 30 hours and it's messing with my head. Worst part is I can't seem to get to sleep... perhaps my body is just reverting to old school hour sleep mode, which means I may get to sleep in another 3 hours or so! Bad: I've completely procrastinated on any further translations. One because it's hard to translate a language if you are not at least somewhat fluent in it, but also because my ADD/ADHD or whatever it is. I used to not believe in that crap, but time after time having project after project fade into oblivion I'm beginning to believe it is VERY real, and VERY harmful to my well being. Good: at least I'm back home after a long damn day!
