These are not pets, but... they are animals which inhabit my home and garden, and come to say hello on occasion . They are Eastern Blue-Tongued Skinks. A few months ago, while doing weights in the living room, I noticed a tiny little thing crawling across the carpet... turned out to be a baby: and the other day I heard a noise from outside, looked out the window, saw a big adult crawling along, ran out and caught it: You can just see the blue tongue starting to appear in the second photo. It was hissing and showing me the tongue when I first picked it up, but they are remarkably calm creatures, they very quickly settle down and just sit in your hands. Nice

Cute ?? ... interesting at least. I wouldn't like to find that in my garden (can it kill the cat ?) but the small one seems inoffensive. I prefer the Korpiklaani rott ! ;D

Finally the day came that i had to send my horses away. About a week ago the new owners came to get them. It was really hard for all of us. As i wrote before i had to do this, because my kids left home, and i am still recovering from a (again) broken ankle and can hardly take care of them. Since i will probably never be able to ride again, and the kids left, the horses had a lazy life, and i know they enjoy it if we do nice things with them, like playing, cross country riding and many other things. Because our pony mare (the white one) is very attached to our black horse, i decided to give them together to some people who could really look after them, and promise to do so and keep them together. Probably they are worth a couple of thousand euro's, but i do not want to sell my friends. We had them over ten years and i never expected that they would not stay untill they die... but sometimes life changes, and possibilities fade. It is very hard that they are gone. I smell them around the house and in the stables we build for them (and where the goats still reside), and see their footprints in the snow, but no whinnying to me anymore, and no running to me when i come close, or when i drive by our house. It has been really difficult, but slowly i get used to their loss. Their new owner is very happy with them. I plan to drive up to them in a couple of weeks, cannot stand it now. More pictures of their last day in our pastry are here

Finally the day came that i had to send my horses away. They are very handsome, especially the pony . You did a beautifully unselfish thing, ensuring they went to a good home and keeping them together like that...

They are indeed beautiful. And knowing they will be cared and taken care of tis a good thing. Even though at times you'll fell the empty place they left...but then you smile, and say ,well, they'r ok where they are'. (that was more of my experience..heh..) Are they now living far from you?

They live now about 1,5 hours driving from here. And i hope/think they have a good home. It would be different for me, if i had known their new owners before (of course we visited them and they visited us, and the horses). The horses will have a very different life, with less freedom, here they could walk in and out, just as they liked, but there they are inside untill someone puts them out. A good thing is that there are more horses there, than just them... and cows

wah, i love horses, sooo much.. and I know how bad it is when a friend as they go away... In the place where I practice riding, have a horse that has cancer, and it seems there is to get rid of it. Now he is a vet that is trying to resolve the situation ... Was what they said to me. Or deceived me and sacrificed him. but I still have hopes that she'll recover and come back there, or q is only for children beginners, or even for therapeutic riding

Now, since 5 months i have to little cats, they are sisters, I love them, but i still miss too much my Che and Colin, i will never forget them
