-- but I have been much into Germanic mythology and I have heard about sort of "Shaman warriors"-they were not true shamans, but things in their rituals were based on native northern shamanism. Germanic mythology is so different from Finnish or Sámi shamanism, there's no link to any kinds of "shaman-warriors". I don't know so much about Germanic mythology but I'm sure, we're talking about so different areas of a culture, so there isn't any sense and any need to start compare berserks and native Finno-Ugric shamans. Besides,if you go into northern shamanism in general,an old professor of mine would say that certain patterns in the shamanistic images of the northern areas, whether it is Scandinavia(Germanic or Ugro-finnish)or Northern american Indians living at the far north of the continent, are very similar. That is what I was trying to point out. If this was your point in the first place, why didn't you said it? Naturally there are much similarities in cultures from Scandinavia via Siberia via North-America to Greenland because they share same circumstances to live. (as I'm already explained this very same thing many times before in this board.. ) I truly know this, because I'm studying those things. And there's always contacts between peoples, so they interact each other. And as I've gone this kind of discussion thru before in this board, I think there's no need to repeat it, does it? And it's Finno-Ugric, not Ugro-finnish.

I can here the influences from Tapio Rautavaara especially in the newest album. And korpiklaani did make an istrumental version of juokse sinä humma (run my horse) I don't know is anyone else noticed it or am I the only one who thinks so. But to me it's only a positive thing because i love Tapsa Rautavaara!

Ina, I'm sure you are right about Juokse sinä humma. Jonne once said that he liked Tapio Rautavaara and it's indeed a very fast and heavier version of this song.
I like Tapio Rautavaara too, though I usually cannot understand anything of the lyrics. In the past I tried sometimes to translate some of his songs, but Finnish is a difficult language for me, so I didn't succeed very well.
