I've been looking for this kind of information from the migthy internet for a long time, since I'm huge fan of Korpiklaanis older music production (I'm speaking of the time when they still were Shaman). And I must say I'm kinda disapointed to see that the last post has been made 2009
But anyway, so to ease others who need to find some kind of translation or just want to see the lyrics. I decided to summ these scattered pieces of the puzzle under one post. Feel free to remind me from other sources if there is any, since I've only been able to find this topic that deals with the Shaman lyrics and translations.
And if the band members still reads these forums, I would like to ask you to fill some missing lyrics or "the pictures of the songs" as you like to call them
If it isn't takeing too much of your time, thank you.
Album: ''Idja'' (1999)
1. Odda Mailbmi
- Translates to "The new world."
- A Yoik song, but you can find chorus singging "Geahčan dan odda mailbmi, geahčan dan ođđasis" In it, no translationf for that yet.
2. Idja
- Is a song mixed with Yoik and few words talking about the nigth, this has been found:
Idja dál lea,
idja dál lea,
idja dál lea,
idja.
The Night
The night has come,
the night has come,
the night has come,
the night.
Thanks go to humppaporo for these lyrics!
3. Ulda
- Nothing to be found. I'm not an expert in sami language, but after listening it several times I've come to conclusion that its plain yoik song, but would love to hear the "picture of the song" whats it all about etc.
4. Vuojan
- In Vuojan there draught reindeer running against northwind and weather is extremely cold. Still I'm not an expert in the sami language, but I can notice some sort of lyrics (words) between the yoik, so if anyone has anykind of source where I can find those lyrics or translations, please feel free to tell.
5. Riehcu
- Could only find this sentence: "At least Riechu means "a big shout" remember" But I think that I overheard some lyrics during the yoik in this song allso, can't be 100% sure, so would like to get some info about this too.
6. Giella
- Nothing to be found. For me its seems to be plain yoik song, but missing the "picture of the song"
7. Festet
- Nothing to be found, but I have a small hint that this migth be something about partying, am I even close?
8. Orbina
- Nothing to be found, can't tell if there is any words mixed with the yoik, since I can't make a difference between sami and gibberish
But I thought that I heard few words in the middle of the song, not 100% sure
9. It Sat Duolmma Mu
- It sat duoulmma mu means "Don`t push me down" Can't find lyrics even from the orginal version of Mari Boine, too bad, since this is one of the songs that I really would like to know better.
10. Ostir Böö
- Nothing to be found, for me it sounds like plain yoik song, but again, can't be 100% sure.
11. Hunka Lunka
- Hunka Lunka means like "I`m bored to this city and this life, I will go to hills and mountains and end this fooling in here" I think thats what the song is about, even that you can't spot words between the yoik.
12. Suollemas Bahcci
- Nothing to be found. I'm allmost 100% that I can hear some words at the begining, but because I lack of knowledge of sami language I can't translate those words
Album: ''Shamániac'' (2002)
1. Mu Sieiddi Beales Mun Gottan
- Mu sieidi aidna
gii mus doalla fuola
aidna geasa jahkan
aidna gease oaffarusan
dan ii giige cara sahte gavdnat
mu sieiddi beales mun gottan
mihkkige ii leat loahpalas
vaikke japmin boahta
mihhkkige ii leat loahpalas
idjamannu luoita
iditnasti idihta
beaivi ihta ja idja luoita
dat my sieidai baita
I kill for my seita
My dear seita
the one who cares for me
the only thing I believe in
the only thing I trust
no one else can find it
I kill for my seita
nothing lasts forever
thought the death arrives
nothing lasts forever
As the moonlight sets
morningstar will rise
day arises and night fades away
daylight shall shine on my seita

Master of mountains
Ancient nature
wiser as the mighty sky
always giving more
and none shall be left without it
Master of mountains

your anger
Those floods and scared people...

I must party like insane.
Beer, beer I want more,
Beer to get drunk,
Beer, beer I want more,
Beer to get wasted.
Again thanks go to HerraHirwi
Okey, thats pretty much everything that I was able to find, I know its over 10 years since the first songs and over a year from the last post to this topic, but if you have any memory or flashbacks from the lyrics or the "picture of the songs" please feel free to leave a comment and I'll add more info to this post. I made this for people like me, who love the old Korpiklaani (Shaman) (and by the way, there isn't anything wrong with the new type of music that you guys make, don't get me wrong
) I hope this helps others to understand better the music that was made.
And finally, if I forget to say thanks for the translations or the lyrics that you have been able to give me, I'm sorry
I wish this post is able to bring the topic alive again,
Cheers - Arivse, "pohjosen samoilija"
Ps.. ignore the missspellings and typeing errors if you can, if it makes your eyes bleed, I'm sorry :/
E: Edited most of the typeing errors I was able to find..
