Just wait a couple more decades... and suddenly you will have a whole generation of oldest metalheads. And Lemmy will still be doing his thing onstage at 95 for all of us who'll be pushing 60.

My mom is always curious about the stuff I listen to. She's really openminded about stuff like that so I gave her my Voice of Wilderness CD to listen to. She loved it! I had my dad listen to the same CD, and he didn't like it too much, haha! But he appreciated it!

That is what I am dreaming of ;D Next week is my 50th birthday and my mind is very young. But the body... About introducing Korpiklaani to my parents I have to say that they are unfortunately dead already but I think my mother would have loved them. I remember her and my stepfather dancing to Sex Pistols on Christmas Eve a long time ago ;D

My mother frequently watches my 3 year old son and asks me to bring DVDs for him to watch sometimes. So, seeing as how he is much like his momma, I sent him off with the Wacken performance from the Tervaskanto CD. After being forced to hear "Pellonpekko" for maybe the 5th time in a row my mother finally called to ask just what the hell I am doing to this child! (Am thinking that it must not help that he tells her he wants to be "one of those guys" and points at each member!) So I then showed her some other KK videos/songs and how my son just freaks out and cries if you try to turn them off. Apparently her opinion is that I "still" need to grow up. LOL! My father just gave up the "rockstar" gig a few years ago and showed up at my high school graduation looking like a Nikki Sixx clone. So although he isn't in to KK, he at least respects them, which is quite cool!

Haha, well my mother likes Korpiklaani, as well as their Shaman times music. Actually Shamaani Duo's CD is one of her favorites. Apparently from Korpiklaani discography she mostly likes the Finnish ones. I think she isn't very fond of Karkelo (yet!), but at least she seems to like Mettänpeiton valtiaalle pretty much. One of my favorites also. My dad likes some of the Finnish songs, not sure how many of them. At least he seems to like Metsämies pretty much. The problem with him is mostly that he isn't really fond with the metal sound, especially Karkelo got a bit too heavy for him to listen, I guess. He doesn't like listening his music very loud and that's why he can't really hear the vocals of the heavier songs... Well, at least my parents like Korpiklaani more or less. My mom has been into rock/metal since she was young, but my dad for less heavy music. But it's fun he also likes some of Korpiklaani, especially that Metsämies I myself love all of Korpiklaani and the Shaman times. Miss seeing them live since last new year!

Sounds like a great family, JerryS . Cool mother! Tis not bout my family, but of two friends of mine ..I introduced Kk to their mother's quite some years ago and she was thrilled, especially when I played Wooden Pints (i remember asking if she minds me playing that, but she went ,,leave the boys sing!!" on me,haha) . The funny part came this summer when my friend complained to me that i made their mother listen Kk too much..that day, after my visit, ,Vodka' was played in heavy rotation until late ;D I am proud of it!

My mum loves Korpiklaani, I was really surprised to hear that, because she usually hated what I listened to. Dad is not very interested in my favourite music, he doesn't say whether it's good or not. And my brother hates everything metal-like. Too bad.
