Last week I was in holidays with my parents in French mountains (Savoie, to be precise). We were in a little wooden chalet, all surrounded by pines, and I had with me a Korpiklaani CD. ...what about a better moment ? My parents don't especially like too...energetic music, but my mother appreciates folk and pagan songs and she said Klaani is likeable (my father didn't reach a verdict). So it was a quite positive experience .

My parents actualy like Korpiklaain. This is shocking to me because my mom gets a headache when she hears a minute of what I usaly listen to. My mom walked by my room when I got "Tervaskanto" and I was playing "Let's Drink" and my mom actualy told me to turn it up . My dad likes them too, but he can't watch the bonus dvd that came with "Tervaskanto" because they need a haircut.

- - because they need a haircut. Yeah right. This is still a very sad "need" for some (older) people even nowadays; for example my father is 70 years old, an old sea captain and very conservative, he doesn't accept my looks at all, long beard and hair (though never said much of my tattoos which are very common among the seamen in general). But however, luckily the parents can't dominate you forever: I growed my hair as long as possible even before the army forces, cut them for a while then and let it and the beard to grow again after the duties in the forces. Of course I moved to live on my own quite quickly after that too, and my fiancée has actually demanded me to never cut away my hair or beard, heh. And what it comes to business world and work; well, the academic world at the university live the year 2007, not 1950 or so; no-one there demands you to look something else than you do if you just do your own part of all the job as required.

Nice topic,I have my introducing korpiklaani to my family story too (or just to my sister because my mother just closes the door lol) First of all my sister DOES NOT listen to metal, she says it's very violent, noisy and stuff. It was around two years ago when I got Voice of Wilderness and I was listening to it in my room when my sister enters to my room don't know why and asks: -What's that? -What's what? -What you're listening to duh -Ah! Korpiklaani, new band I discovered ;D -Korpi what? -Korpiklaani -Ah! She stayed there looking for something or I don't know while I kept on doing what I was doing before she came in and she again asks: -Korpiklaani are they called? -Yes -They are pretty cheerful,it makes me want to have a beer, start running into the woods or something -Indeed -When you're done listening to it can you lent it to me? -As long as you return it and it's still alive, yeah And since that day every now and then my Korpiklaani cds tend to disappear and "mysteriously" appear in my sister's room and also she once said she would like to join me if the band came here to play which didn't make me very glad since she's the type of person who makes stupid exclamations like: "why do they shake their heads?","don't they get neck aches?""don't they end up dizzy?" when she sees someone headbanging or things like that

My math teacher lets us play music while we work, and I happened to have "Trevaskanto" with me. Everyone in my class liked them. Even the mainstream, rap listening kids liked them. That was a shocker.

My Family doesn't like My Music, but Sometimes listens something.
My mother is a Classica Music Listener (W.A.Mozart over all)
Korpiklaani are too strong for my family. I don't have Metal Family.
I'm the only one I listen Hard Rock / Heavy Metal, Folk metal, Ethnofolk.

if I would say "Korpiklaani" to my parents they will probably look very weird to me and then ask if that's somekind of strange disease

My mother knows about Korpiklaani, but i am sure she would not like it, she is a classical musician and she might like some hard-rock a little (she heard it from me when i was still living at home) and she did not dislike some Finntroll songs she accidentally heard in my car, when she had to wait for me. She always says about 'modern' music: 'nothing happens in there, it is boring'. I guess my father (also classical musician) would have liked it more when he would be alive, he and i used to listen a lot of ethnic/folk music together when i was a kid. But surprisingly many people know about Korpiklaani because of my website. Many people check there for other things (like horses) and see all those pictures. Sometimes they even go so far that they start to listen to it

if I would say "Korpiklaani" to my parents they will probably look very weird to me and then ask if that's somekind of strange disease Well, it basically is. Symptoms are the urge to travel to the most impossible places of this world in order to see six shaggy Finns maltreating some folk instruments. In rare cases a reduction of nourishment to solely Estonian bread can be observed.

My father just hate every modern music, he likes classical music like Mozart and sometimes listens spanish music, flamenco, and things like that (boring ). My mother is diferent , she stands my music, but not for a long time, she use to ask me about the bands that I´m listening, when she´s in my car listening ´klaani always asks me "what band is it?", Korpiklaani, "but, what´s the meaning in spanish?", Clan del Bosque, I said, she likes a lot Pellonpekko
