Not really a debate. Well, I guess it kinda is for me, but more like a dilemma. So Alestorm is playing in Melbourne, a city about 3 hours south of me, in 10 days. I've got the money to go see them, and for the train ticket and taxi fair to the pub theyre playing at, but I'll have nowhere to stay, have nobody to go with, and because I don't turn 18 for a few more months, there's a chance I could get knocked back from getting in the pub, so it would be a big waste of money. I never get asked for ID, but knowing my luck this would probably be the one time I get asked. Trying to weigh up whether it's worth it or not, or if I should just wait till next year. This has been annoying the shit out of me the last few days, so I thought I'd just put it out there incase of any suggestions.

Damn it's hard to find some contacts in so a short time. But you can always find them on a gig, heh. I'd went there, if I had the money (if not to mention the fact I don't actually like Alestorm) - 'cause there are always too much crazy things happening around me. Or you can seek for a hostel...

You don't need anybody to stay with. Last Paganfest I went to here, after the concert an a late night talk with a dear friend (and running into Jonne and Matson) I slept in my car behind a gas station. Hotels are ok, but it's such a better experience just kicking it wherever you can, even if that place is the small backseat of a coupe Acura. In regards to the show, despite it being at a bar, just try it out. If nothing else you can stalk the bar and hope to meet the members outside. Although depending on the venue that may or may not be possible. Most likely you should be able to get in, and if not at least you will have had the experience of "that one time I got kicked out of an Alestorm gig"

I really need to check these forums more often (ehem, what admin?) Since when we've had this karma system here?

Since when we've had this karma system here? I think this karma system is meaningless. But may be some more emoticons will be not bad. Sorry to be so direct!

Hahahaha, ;D ;D I really like and appreciate witty and good looking emoticons and gather them. I prefer not very big in size, the standard, like here. I can put them here and if the forum team likes them, they can use them, if technically possible.

Yeah, the karma system... i'm sure that we don't need it here, because I'm for example too lazy to tick there.
And emoticons would be great! I try not to use lots of them, but sometimes they're needed.

I'll see if I can add any more emoticons when I get home later today. I wouldn't be too hopeful about it though, I can't atleast remember there was an option for that. Edit: checked it right away anyways. Looks like that all I can add is new avatars to choose from, no options for the emoticons there That's a bit odd, since the forum has tons of other strange stuff like [glow=red,2,300]glowing text[/glow] and different fonts. ...which don't seem to work either. Hmm.

There seems to be an option to have an live chat on the forum. What would you think if I turned it on for a while so you can decide if it's a good thing or not?

That does sound interesting; worth trying at least, aye? See what klaanboys and klaangirls say.

Hmm. Have you checked where the skins are changed, if there's a place called Look and Feel or alike, and there's Emoticon Manager. But it may be different here, though the soft seems similar. There seems to be an option to have an live chat on the forum. What would you think if I turned it on for a while so you can decide if it's a good thing or not? I'm not fan of these chats, because they often become spam arena. But if the others want, I don't mind, if there's an option for everybody to open or close (not to see it).

Looks like there's few things that even an admin can't do, like change the colors and fonts of the forum or enable the chat. I suppose only Jonne can do those as the founder of the forum. So that's all for the chat and new smileys for now I think the chat would have been in a pop-up window so it wouldn't have bothered anyone unless they wanted. By the way, if anyone wonders who's giving them low karma, that's propably me. I always manage to click the wrong link when I'm supposed to give positive karma

Well, not a great problem about the emoticons. Who wants can enter "outer" emoticons as a picture.
